Jar Shaped Card – How I Made it – Easy Tutorial. – Filled with Sweetness – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you’re looking for a fun fold with plenty of charm, this Jar Shaped Card is such a sweet project to try! Using the beautiful Homemade Sweetness DSP and the Filled with Sweetness Stamp and Die Bundle, I created two bright and cheerful versions that are perfect for birthdays, thank you cards, or just to send a little love.

Today I’m sharing how I made it – and I promise, it’s easier than it looks!

The Design Inspiration

I absolutely adore the jam jar imagery in the Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper. The fruit prints and jar elements are ideal for creating something playful and eye-catching. Rather than making a standard rectangle card, I decided to let the dies do the talking and create a shaped card base.

The two colourways I chose were:

  • Misty Moonlight – rich, elegant and slightly rustic
  • Granny Apple Green – fresh, vibrant and full of energy

Both give a completely different feel, even though the layout is the same.

Creating the Jar-Shaped Base

To form the jar shape, I used the coordinating die from the Filled with Sweetness Bundle to cut the card front, ensuring the fold remained intact at the top. This creates a perfectly shaped card while still allowing it to open and close as normal.

For added detail, I white heat embossed the jar lines directly onto the background layer. This step really makes the jar shape stand out and gives a lovely glossy contrast against the coloured cardstock.

Adding Depth to the Lid

One of my favourite little details on this project is the lid.

After die cutting the lid piece, I lightly sponged it with matching ink to add depth and texture. This simple step makes such a difference! It stops the lid from looking flat and gives it a more realistic, dimensional feel.

To finish it off, I added a sweet ribbon bow across the top for that classic jam jar look.

Fussy Cut Details from the DSP

The jam jars and fruit elements were fussy cut directly from the Homemade Sweetness DSP. The designs in this paper are perfect for cutting out — no stamping required!

Layering these over the embossed jar background adds interest and makes each card feel full and layered without being bulky.

One version reads:

  • “You’re the Sweetest”

And the other:

  • “Love You Berry Much”

Both sentiments work beautifully with the playful fruit theme.

Misty Moonlight vs Granny Apple Green

Although the layout is identical, the two colour choices create very different looks:

  • Misty Moonlight feels slightly more classic and elegant.
  • Granny Apple Green brings a bright, cheerful and modern feel.

This just shows how changing your base colour can completely transform a design!

Why You’ll Love This Card Design

  • It’s a shaped card but still simple to create
  • The DSP does most of the decorative work
  • Minimal stamping required
  • Perfect for batch making
  • Ideal for multiple occasions

If you’ve never made a shaped card before, this is a brilliant one to start with.

Final Thoughts

I love how these turned out – they’re bright, happy and full of personality. The combination of white heat embossing, ink blending on the lid, and fussy cut DSP details really brings the jars to life.

How to Create a Double Twisted Easel Card – Choose Happy – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you love creating interactive cards that truly wow the recipient, this Double Twisted Easel Card is a must-try! It folds flat for posting but opens into a beautifully dimensional display piece — and today’s version is packed with colour, charm and the sweetest Easter detail.

This design features the vibrant Homemade Sweetness DSP paired with the adorable images from the Choose Happy stamp set. I’ve created two colour variations — one in Misty Moonlight and one in Granny Apple Green — and both showcase a gorgeous pop-up rabbit in the centre of the card.

What Makes a Double Twisted Easel Card So Special?

The Double Twisted Easel Card is a fun fold that instantly adds drama and dimension. When opened, the two angled panels twist outward to form easels, creating height and interest. Decorative stoppers hold the panels in place so the card stands beautifully for display.

It’s one of those card designs that looks complicated but is surprisingly achievable once you’ve made one!

Featuring the Homemade Sweetness DSP

The Homemade Sweetness DSP is full of bright, fruity patterns — strawberries, blueberries, cherries and citrus slices — which bring such a cheerful and fresh feel to this project.

The triangular panels on the front of the card are the perfect way to highlight patterned paper. Because of the twisted design, you get to showcase multiple sections of DSP, making this fold ideal for papers you don’t want to hide!

The fruit design pairs beautifully with both colour variations and gives the card a playful, uplifting look.

Misty Moonlight Version – A Soft, Elegant Easter Feel

The first version uses Misty Moonlight for the base and the rear twisted panels. The deep blue floral pattern at the back adds contrast while keeping the design balanced and elegant.

When the card is opened, the little rabbit from the Choose Happy stamp set pops up in the centre with a “Happy Easter” greeting. The soft blue tones give this version a slightly more classic feel, perfect for sending thoughtful Easter wishes.

Granny Apple Green Version – Fresh and Fun

The second version features Granny Apple Green as the base. This colour works beautifully with the fruit-themed DSP and adds a vibrant, springtime freshness.

A coordinating belly band wraps around the card front, finished with an oval focal piece featuring jam jars and sweet imagery from the Choose Happy stamp set. When opened, the same adorable rabbit pops up in the centre, creating that lovely surprise element.

This version feels bright, cheerful and full of energy — perfect for celebrating Easter or simply sharing a happy handmade moment.

The Pop-Up Centrepiece

The real showstopper of this Double Twisted Easel Card is the pop-up rabbit in the centre. Positioned perfectly between the two twisted panels, it becomes the focal point as soon as the card is opened.

Adding dimension here enhances the interactive element and really brings the design to life. It transforms the card from beautiful to unforgettable.

Why You Should Try This Fun Fold

  • Folds flat for posting
  • Stands beautifully for display
  • Showcases patterned paper perfectly
  • Creates a memorable “wow” moment
  • Ideal for Easter, birthdays or spring occasions

If you’ve never made a Double Twisted Easel Card before, this is your sign to give it a go! Once you understand the fold, you’ll find yourself reaching for it again and again.

Measurements

  • Granny Apple Green / Misty Moonlight Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half. Cut the front flap of the card base in half on the long side until the fold.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 1 piece
  • Homemade Sweetness designer series paper (DSP):
    • 9.5cm X 6.4cm X 2 pieces
    • 10cm X 1.5cm X 1 piece
  • Basic White Cardstock – 10cm X 6.9cm X 2 pieces

Final Thoughts

Combining the Homemade Sweetness DSP with the Choose Happy stamp set creates a joyful, spring-inspired project that’s full of personality. Whether you prefer the elegance of Misty Moonlight or the brightness of Granny Apple Green, this fold truly elevates your cardmaking.

Interactive cards like this are such a delight to give — and even more fun to create!

Make this Cute Easter Basket With Me Today. Choose Happy. Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln, UK.

Easter crafting is one of my favourites, and today I’m sharing how to make these adorably cute Easter baskets that are perfect for holding chocolate treats, small gifts, or even table favours. They’re fun to make, easy to customise, and look absolutely lovely using patterned paper and simple punches.

Whether you’re crafting for Easter gifts, party favours, or just because you love cute 3D projects, this basket is a must-try!

A Sweet Easter Basket Design

These baskets are made using the Homemade Sweetness DSP, which gives them that classic, cosy feel while still looking fresh and cheerful. I love how the patterns work beautifully for spring and Easter projects.

To add a pop of colour, I created cardstock handles for each basket. One basket features Calypso Coral, while the other uses Strawberry Slush. Both colours coordinate perfectly with the patterned paper and help each basket feel unique while still matching as a set.

The Cutest Bunny Focal Point

The focal image on each basket is this sweet little rabbit from the Choose Happy stamp set. It’s simple, playful, and just right for Easter projects. I stamped the bunny and punched it out using circle punches, then layered it onto a coordinating cardstock circle to give it a little extra definition and help it stand out against the basket.

This is a great example of how you don’t need complicated dies to create a polished look—punches can be just as effective!

A Fun Way to Add Texture

Inside each basket, I added crinkled paper to hold the chocolate eggs. This is actually old copier paper that I ran through a crimper and then popped through a hand shredder. It’s a brilliant way to recycle paper and add texture without needing any specialist products.

Not only does it look great, but it also helps keep the treats snugly in place—practical and pretty!

Perfect for Gifts and Table Favours

These Easter baskets are ideal for:

  • Easter gifts for friends and family
  • Children’s Easter treats
  • Table favours for Easter lunch or parties
  • Craft fair or handmade gift ideas

They’re sturdy, reusable, and can be adapted for other occasions simply by changing the paper and sentiment.

Try It Yourself

This is such a fun project to make, and once you’ve created one, you’ll want to make lots more! You can easily mix and match DSP, colours, and stamped images to suit your own style or theme.

  • Homemade Sweetness designer series paper (DSP) 6″ X 6″

How to Add Texture to a Card with Embellishments – Tutorial

How to Add Texture to a Card with Embellishments – Tutorial – Painterly Pears – Simply Said – Crafting With Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo

Adding texture is one of my favourite ways to take a handmade card from “nice” to wow, and today’s card is a perfect example of how a few simple embellishments can completely change the look and feel of a design.

For this project, I’ve used the beautiful Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper, which already has a soft, artistic feel. By layering texture on top of that, the finished card feels much more tactile and luxurious—without being bulky or complicated to make.

Choosing the Right Card Base

The card base for this project is Thick Basic White, which is ideal when you’re adding extra layers and embellishments. It gives the card a sturdy foundation and ensures it holds its shape beautifully, even with added texture.

Using a strong card base also helps the decorative elements stand out, especially when paired with patterned paper like Painterly Pears.

Creating a Textured Focal Panel

The focal panel is where the texture really comes to life. I edged the panel using Fluffy Trim, which instantly adds softness and dimension. This type of trim is fantastic for breaking up patterned paper and drawing the eye towards the centre of the card.

Running the trim along the top and bottom of the focal panel frames the design and adds a cosy, almost fabric-like feel—perfect for cards that you want to feel special when held.

Adding “Bump” Texture with Embellishments

To add that final layer of interest, I used Pearls of Beauty pearls. These small embellishments are brilliant for creating what I like to call bump texture—just enough raised detail to catch the light without overpowering the design.

Placed carefully around the focal panel, the pearls balance the softness of the Fluffy Trim and add a subtle touch of elegance. This combination of soft and shiny textures works especially well with the painterly style of the DSP.

measurements

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Painterly Pears designers series paper (DSP) – 13.85cm X 9.5cm

Why Texture Matters in Cardmaking

Texture engages more than just the eyes—it invites people to touch and explore your card. By combining trims, embellishments, and layered papers, you can create depth and interest even when the design itself is quite simple.

This card layout is also very versatile. You can easily swap the sentiment to suit different occasions, or change the DSP while keeping the same textured elements for a completely new look.

How to Use Layering Stencils to Create A Beautiful Background

How to Use Layering Stencils to Create A Beautiful Background – Layers of Beauty – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Dem0

How to Use Layering Stencils to Create A Beautiful Background – Layers of Beauty – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Dem0

Layering stencils are one of my favourite tools for creating detailed, eye-catching backgrounds with little effort – and today’s cards are the perfect example of just how effective they can be. Using the Layers of Beauty stamp set, along with its coordinating dies and layering stencils, I’ve created two floral cards that are full of colour, depth and elegance.

If you love the look of hand-coloured images but want a quicker, more consistent result, layering stencils are an absolute game-changer.

Why Layering Stencils Are So Effective

The Layers of Beauty set is designed to make colouring easy and enjoyable. Each stencil layer builds on the last, allowing you to add highlights, shadows and depth without needing advanced colouring techniques. The result is a beautifully shaded floral design that looks far more complicated than it actually is.

Because the stencils line up perfectly with the stamped image, you can confidently add colour knowing everything will stay crisp and clean. It’s a fantastic option whether you’re new to stencilling or already love working with inks and blends.

Colour Combinations That Bring the Florals to Life

For these cards, I’ve created two different colourways to show just how versatile this set can be.

The first card features a soft yet rich floral palette using:

  • Bubble Gum
  • Berry Burst
  • Blackberry Bliss

This combination gives the flowers a romantic feel, with the deeper tones adding lovely contrast and definition.

The second card has a warmer, bolder look, using:

  • Calypso Coral
  • Poppy Parade
  • Cherry Cobbler

These colours work beautifully together to create vibrant, striking florals that really stand out against the background.

Changing the colour palette alone gives the same design a completely different mood, making this set ideal for building a varied card collection.

Adding Vellum for Softness and Dimension

To help the sentiment and extra floral image stand out, I’ve added vellum across the bottom of each card. This simple layer softens the busy floral background while still allowing the design underneath to show through.

Vellum is such a great way to add separation without hiding your hard work, and it also adds a touch of elegance and dimension to the finished card.

The sentiments come from the Greetings For You ephemera pack, which makes finishing a card quick and easy while still looking polished and professional.

Perfect for Many Occasions

These cards are wonderfully versatile and would suit so many occasions – birthdays, thank you cards, thinking of you, or even just a happy note to brighten someone’s day. The combination of detailed florals, soft vellum and bold sentiments makes them both beautiful and practical.

If you’ve been curious about layering stencils, this is a fantastic place to start. They really do take the guesswork out of colouring and give you stunning results every time.

How to Create Cards That Pop – Playing with Colour and Texture – Sweet Jar – Forever Plaid – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – UK.

If you love bold colour combinations and lots of lovely texture, today’s cards are for you! I’m sharing two bright and cheerful card designs created using the Sweet Jar stamp and punch bundle, where the focus is all about playing with colour and texture to create cards that really pop.

These designs are perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or simply sending happy mail, and they’re a great example of how changing colour palettes can completely transform the same layout.

Colour and Texture as the Star of the Show

Both cards feature backgrounds made up of various coloured cardstock panels, all embossed using the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder. This embossing folder adds instant depth and interest, making it ideal for adding texture without overwhelming the design.

Using multiple colours together creates a patchwork-style background that feels playful and modern, while the embossed plaid pattern ties everything together beautifully.

Sweet Jar Focal Point

The focal point on each card is the adorable Sweet Jar image, stamped and then punched out using the coordinating punch. This bundle makes it so easy to create clean, professional-looking focal images with minimal effort.

The jar is mounted onto a layered panel to help it stand out against the textured background, drawing the eye straight to the centre of the card. Small embellishments are scattered across the card fronts to add a subtle sparkle and extra dimension.

Card One – Bright and Fresh Colour Palette

The first card features a vibrant mix of:

  • Melon Mambo
  • Lemon Lolly
  • Soft Sea Foam
  • Coastal Cabana
  • Lost Lagoon

This colour combination feels fresh, fun, and perfect for uplifting cards. The bold Melon Mambo panel grounds the design, while the softer shades balance everything out beautifully.

The sentiment is taken from the Greetings for You ephemera pack, making it quick and easy to finish the card while keeping the design clean and uncluttered.

Card Two – Soft Yet Playful Tones- Retiring 24 – 26 In colours.

The second card uses a softer but still playful colour palette:

  • Petunia Pop
  • Peach Pie
  • Pretty in Pink
  • Summer Splash
  • Shy Shamrock

This combination creates a warm, happy feel that works wonderfully for congratulatory cards. Using the same layout as the first card really highlights how different colour choices can give a completely new look and feel.

Again, the sentiment comes from the Greetings for You ephemera pack, proving just how versatile these ready-made sentiments are.

Why This Design Works

Using one layout with two different colour palettes is a fantastic way to:

  • Speed up your cardmaking
  • Use up cardstock scraps
  • Create cohesive sets of cards
  • Experiment with colour without overthinking the design

The Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder adds just enough texture to keep the backgrounds interesting, while the Sweet Jar image provides a fun and recognisable focal point.

How to Make a Sweet Bug Card – Garden Green – Lovely Garden. – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Creating cheerful cards with character is always a joy, and today I’m sharing how I made this fun and playful Sweet Bug card. This design is full of movement and personality, making it perfect for sending a friendly hello to someone special.

The Sweet Bug stamp and die bundle from Stampin’ Up! is ideal for cards like this, especially if you enjoy adding colour, layers, and a touch of whimsy to your papercrafting projects.

Card Design Overview

This card features a Garden Green cardbase, which provides a rich, earthy backdrop and works beautifully with the Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper. I’ve used the DSP as side panels to frame the focal area and draw the eye straight to the centre of the card.

To help the main design stand out, the focal panel is matted onto Gold Foil sheet. This subtle shimmer adds a touch of elegance while still keeping the overall look fun and playful.

Sweet Bug Details

All of the images are stamped onto Basic White cardstock and coloured using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. These markers are perfect for smooth blending and bringing the sweet bug images to life with vibrant colour and depth.

Once coloured, all the images were die cut using the matching dies, making it easy to build up the scene. The little ants marching across the card add movement and storytelling to the design, and I’ve popped them up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for extra interest and dimension.

Finishing Touches

The combination of layered elements, gold foil accents, and raised details gives this card plenty of texture without feeling bulky. It’s a lovely example of how small details—like foam dimensionals and metallic mats—can really elevate a handmade card.

This card would be perfect for a friendly hello, a thinking-of-you message, or even a cheerful note just because.

Layered Florals for Beautiful Birthday Cards

Layered Florals for Beautiful Birthday Cards – Pretty Florals – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Layered Florals for Beautiful Birthday Cards – Pretty Florals – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Today I’m sharing two elegant birthday cards featuring the Pretty Floral Dies from Stampin’ Up!, paired beautifully with the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper. These cards are all about layered florals, soft colour combinations, and letting patterned paper do the hard work.

The Pretty Floral Dies are perfect for creating statement flowers, and when layered together, they add wonderful depth and interest to a card front. Combined with the artistic textures of the Brushed with Beauty DSP, the result is a pair of birthday cards that feel both modern and timeless.

Card One – Soft Florals with a Classic Feel

The first card uses a Lost Lagoon card base, which provides a lovely contrast against the darker tones within the Brushed with Beauty paper. I chose Petal Pink and Calypso Coral for the layered floral die cuts, creating a soft yet eye-catching focal point.

The foliage is die cut from Very Vanilla, which ties in perfectly with the lighter tones already present in the DSP. This helps keep the design cohesive and balanced without overpowering the background.

To finish the card, I added a simple stamped sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set. This clean and classic greeting complements the layered florals without distracting from them.

Card Two – Fresh Colours and a Modern Twist

For the second card, I switched things up with a Petal Pink card base for a lighter, brighter feel. The floral layers are created with Coastal Cabana and Lost Lagoon, giving this card a fresh, uplifting colour palette.

Again, the foliage is die cut from Very Vanilla, ensuring continuity between the two designs while still allowing each card to feel unique. I love how versatile these dies are — simply changing the colours completely transforms the look of the card.

Instead of stamping, this card features a sentiment from the Greetings for You ephemera pack. The bold black sentiment adds a modern touch and stands out beautifully against the softer background.

Why I Love This Combination

The Pretty Floral Dies are ideal for batch-making cards because the same layout works across multiple colour schemes. Pairing them with the Brushed with Beauty DSP makes it easy to create layered, artistic cards without needing extra embellishment.

These designs would be perfect for birthdays, but they could easily be adapted for other occasions just by switching up the sentiment.

Measurements

  • Lost Lagoon / Petal Pink Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces.
  • Brushed with Beauty designer series paper (DSP) – 13.35cm X 9.5cm + 13.35cm X 8.5cm.

A Fun Fold with a Practical Twist

What I really love about this card is how interactive it feels without being complicated. The fold-over panel adds interest straight away, but it’s also functional, giving you that hidden area inside the card. It’s a lovely way to surprise the recipient and makes the card feel extra special.

Colour Palette: Calypso Coral & Lost Lagoon

The combination of Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon works beautifully with the Brushed with Beauty DSP. Calypso Coral adds warmth and energy, while Lost Lagoon brings a calm, elegant balance. Together, they frame the patterned paper perfectly and really allow the floral designs to shine.

Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper

The Brushed with Beauty DSP is absolutely stunning and does most of the hard work for you. Those painterly florals and soft textures make it ideal for cards like this where you want maximum impact with minimal fuss. Each panel looks like a tiny piece of artwork, which is why this paper is perfect for fun folds and feature cards.

Simple, Versatile Sentiment

The sentiment comes from the Encircled With Love stamp set. I love how clean and versatile these circular sentiments are – they sit perfectly on the front of the card and don’t overwhelm the design. It’s a great all-occasion option, making this card suitable for birthdays, thank yous, or just-because moments.

Perfect for Tags, Photos, or Messages

That hidden section created by the fold-over design is one of my favourite features. You can pop in:

  • A small coordinating tag
  • A photo mat
  • A handwritten message or journaling card

It’s a brilliant way to personalise the card even more and makes it ideal for gifting.

A Card That Pops with Style

The star of this project is the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper. The soft florals paired with earthy tones create an elegant backdrop that works for so many occasions. I’ve teamed it with Calypso Coral and Early Espresso cardstock, which really grounds the design while allowing the floral patterns to shine.

When the card is opened, the pop-out centre panel stands proud, creating depth and interest. It’s one of those cards that makes people stop, look, and ask, “How did you make that?” – always a good sign!

Simple Stamping with a Big Impact

The sentiment comes from the With You In Mind stamp set. I love how versatile this set is – the fonts are modern yet timeless, and the sentiments work beautifully for birthdays, thank you cards, and thinking-of-you projects.

By keeping the stamping clean and uncluttered, the focus stays on the structure of the card and the gorgeous designer paper, while still delivering a heartfelt message.

If you enjoy cards that combine clever construction with pretty details, this is definitely a fold worth trying.
