Tips and Tricks – New Impressions Mat – Opulent Oasis. – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Today I’m sharing these beautiful floral cards created with the stunning Opulent Oasis stamp and die set. I’ve made two versions using Hydrangea Hue and Golden Glow, and although the Golden Glow card appears more orange in the photograph, it is actually a much softer gold/yellow shade in real life.

The Opulent Oasis dies are extra special because one of the dies doesn’t just cut — it also embosses gorgeous detail into the cardstock. This gives the flowers and foliage incredible dimension and makes the finished card look so elegant with very little extra effort.

Using the New Impressions Mat

If you haven’t tried the new Impressions Mat yet, this is a fantastic project to start with. It’s such a simple way to add texture and definition to your die cuts.

To emboss with the die, I used the following sandwich:

  • Base Plate
  • Die
  • Cardstock placed on top of the die
  • Impressions Mat
  • Plate 4

The embossing detail really brings the florals to life and adds that luxurious raised texture. I explain the full process in the video tutorial so you can see exactly how it works step by step.

Adding Extra Detail with Stampin’ Blends

After embossing the die cuts, I added even more depth using matching Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. This helps highlight all the embossed lines and gives the flowers a beautifully shaded appearance.

On the Hydrangea Hue version, the darker blue shading creates a striking contrast and really draws attention to the floral centre. For the Golden Glow card, the added shading gives warmth and richness while still keeping the soft elegant feel of the design.

Elegant Layers and Texture

Both cards feature delicate, patterned paper backgrounds which work beautifully with the bold floral focal point. I also layered the embossed die cuts over decorative white die-cut pieces to help the flowers stand out even more.

A few pearls finish the cards perfectly and add just the right amount of detail and shine.

Why You’ll Love the Opulent Oasis Bundle

One of my favourite things about the Opulent Oasis bundle is how versatile it is. You can keep the design simple with basic die cutting or step it up with embossing and additional colouring techniques for a more detailed finish.

The embossing effect created with the Impressions Mat gives professional-looking results so easily, and it’s a wonderful way to get more from your dies.

How to Make a Filled with Sweetness Jar Card – Stampin’ Blends. – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Today I’m sharing a bright and cheerful card made using the Filled with Sweetness Stamp and Die Bundle. This design features a sweet jar filled with strawberries and blueberries, coloured with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers for a vibrant, smooth finish.

I’ve created two versions of this card using the beautiful colour combination of Strawberry Slush and Blueberry Bushel. These colours work perfectly together and really make the fruit images pop against the clean background.

This is a fun card to make and a great way to practise colouring with Stampin’ Blends.

Creating the Jar Focal Point

The main focal point of this card is the large jar image from the Filled with Sweetness bundle. After stamping the jar, I coloured the fruit using Stampin’ Blends to add depth and dimension.

The strawberries were coloured using shades of Strawberry Slush, while the blueberries were coloured with Blueberry Bushel. Using alcohol markers makes blending colours easy and helps create a smooth, professional finish. I also added a little shading around the inside of the jar to give the impression of glass and depth.

Once the colouring was complete, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the jar and lid.

Adding Layers and Background Interest

To frame the jar, I layered it onto a piece of patterned paper that coordinates with the card base. The two versions of this card show how simply changing the background colour can give the design a completely different look.

One card uses Strawberry Slush tones, while the other uses Blueberry Bushel, creating two bright and cheerful designs from the same layout.

Layering your patterned paper and cardstock helps to create contrast and draws the eye towards the focal image.

Measurements

  • Strawberry Slush & Blueberry Bushell Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm.
  • Strawberry Slush / Azure Afternoon designer series paper (DSP) – 13.85 cm x 9.5cm.

Finishing Touches

The jar lid was die cut and added slightly overlapping the jar to create a realistic look. I tied a small bow around the jar using Misty Moonlight Checked ribbon, which adds a lovely country-style feel to the design.

The sentiment “You’re the Sweetest” fits perfectly with the fruit theme and was stamped onto a small banner before being tucked slightly behind the jar lid.

These little details bring the whole card together and make the design feel polished and complete.

This card layout is versatile and would work beautifully for thank you cards, friendship cards, or even birthdays. You could also change the fruit colours to create completely different looks.

Create a Scene Card – Sweet Bugs – Easy Colouring Tutorial.

Create a Scene Card – Sweet Bugs – Easy Colouring Tutorial. Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Creating sweet little scenes on a card is such a fun way to bring your stamped images to life, and this adorable Sweet Bugs card is the perfect example. By combining simple ink blending with easy alcohol marker colouring, you can quickly build a charming garden scene that feels playful and full of personality.

This project is great for practising colouring with Stampin’ Blends while also learning how to layer stamped images to create a storytelling style card.

Create a Scene Card – Sweet Bugs – Easy Colouring Tutorial. Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Creating the Soft Ink Blended Background

To begin, I created a soft background to represent the sky and grassy ground. The top portion of the card was lightly ink blended using Balmy Blue, which creates a gentle sky effect without overpowering the focal images.

For the bottom section, I blended Lemon Lime Twist to suggest grass and greenery. Keeping the blending soft and subtle allows the stamped images to remain the main focus of the design while still adding depth and interest to the background.

This simple two-colour blend is a great technique to use when building scene cards because it instantly sets the environment for your stamped images.

Building the Sweet Garden Scene

The adorable characters from the Sweet Bugs stamp set make it incredibly easy to create a fun story across the card.

I stamped several of the images and coloured them using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers, which give smooth coverage and make shading very simple. The bright colours help the bugs stand out beautifully against the soft blended background.

The scene includes:

  • A friendly caterpillar enjoying the garden
  • A little bug reading a book
  • A buzzing bee flying above
  • Mushrooms, flowers, and leafy greenery to complete the setting

Arranging the elements along the bottom of the card helps create the look of a little garden path, while the flying bee adds movement to the design.

Adding Layers and Texture

To give the card a little extra detail, I added a strip of patterned paper down the left-hand side. This helps frame the scene while introducing additional colour and texture.

The images were cut using the matching Sweet Bugs dies, making them easy to layer and position around the card. Popping some of the elements up slightly also adds dimension and makes the scene feel more lively.

The sentiment “Hello Friend” fits perfectly with this cheerful design and finishes the card with a warm, friendly touch.

Why Scene Cards Are So Fun to Make

Scene cards are a wonderful way to use character stamps because they allow you to build a tiny world on your card front. Even simple colouring and basic layouts can create something that feels detailed and creative.

This type of card is also perfect for:

  • Practising colouring techniques
  • Using multiple images from a stamp set
  • Creating playful storytelling designs
  • Making cards that are perfect for all ages

The Sweet Bugs set is especially great for this because the images naturally work together to form a cute garden scene.

Measurements

  • Old Olive Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces

Final Thoughts

This card is proof that you don’t need complicated techniques to create something eye-catching. With a little ink blending, some simple colouring, and a few adorable stamped images, you can build a charming scene that will definitely bring a smile to someone’s face.

If you enjoy colouring and creating story-style cards, this is a fantastic stamp set to experiment with.

Perfect Card for a Photography Fiend – Simple Tutorial. Capturing Smiles. Crafting with Ashee. Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you have a photography lover in your life, this card is an absolute winner! Today I’m sharing a bright and cheerful design made using the Capturing Smiles stamp and die set from the Online Exclusives range. It’s playful, modern and perfect for celebrating adventures, travel memories, or simply someone who never goes anywhere without their camera.

This design is bold, colourful and incredibly easy to recreate – ideal for batch making too!

A Pop of Retiring In Colours

For these cards, I’ve used the beautiful retiring In Colours:

  • Petunia Pop
  • Shy Shamrock
  • Summer Splash
  • Pretty in Pink
  • Peach Pie

These colours work so well together and really bring the camera theme to life. The bright tones give the cards a fun, summery feel while still keeping the layout clean and balanced.

One version features a Summer Splash film strip layered over a warm Peach Pie patterned background. The second version swaps things around with a Petunia Pop film strip against a Pretty in Pink backdrop. Changing the dominant colour completely transforms the feel of the design, even though the layout stays exactly the same.

Creating the Focal Point

The star of this card is the fabulous film strip die from Capturing Smiles. I love how it instantly adds movement and storytelling to a project.

Inside the film strip panels, I stamped simple black line images — a mountain camping scene, a beach umbrella scene, and a city skyline. Keeping the images in black allows the bold In Colours to really shine and stops the design from becoming too busy.

The vertical film strip naturally draws the eye down the card, creating a lovely sense of flow.

Adding Extra Detail

To complement the film strip, I stamped and die-cut multiple camera images in alternating In Colours. Arranging them in a neat column along the left-hand side adds balance and structure to the card.

A few enamel dots scattered around the design bring in texture and subtle sparkle without overwhelming the clean layout.

The sentiment “Hello Adventure” ties everything together beautifully. It’s perfect for:

  • Travel lovers
  • Gap year celebrations
  • Retirement adventures
  • Bon voyage cards
  • Or simply encouraging someone to chase their dreams

Why This Layout Works

This card design is a great example of how to:

  • Use bold colour combinations confidently
  • Keep stamped images simple for a modern look
  • Create impact with repetition
  • Make one layout and switch colours for multiple variations

If you run classes or craft clubs like I do, this layout is ideal because it’s easy to prep and adaptable for different colour schemes.

Jar Shaped Card – How I Made it – Easy Tutorial.

Jar Shaped Card – How I Made it – Easy Tutorial. – Filled with Sweetness – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you’re looking for a fun fold with plenty of charm, this Jar Shaped Card is such a sweet project to try! Using the beautiful Homemade Sweetness DSP and the Filled with Sweetness Stamp and Die Bundle, I created two bright and cheerful versions that are perfect for birthdays, thank you cards, or just to send a little love.

Today I’m sharing how I made it – and I promise, it’s easier than it looks!

The Design Inspiration

I absolutely adore the jam jar imagery in the Homemade Sweetness Designer Series Paper. The fruit prints and jar elements are ideal for creating something playful and eye-catching. Rather than making a standard rectangle card, I decided to let the dies do the talking and create a shaped card base.

The two colourways I chose were:

  • Misty Moonlight – rich, elegant and slightly rustic
  • Granny Apple Green – fresh, vibrant and full of energy

Both give a completely different feel, even though the layout is the same.

Jar Shaped Card – How I Made it – Easy Tutorial. – Filled with Sweetness – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Creating the Jar-Shaped Base

To form the jar shape, I used the coordinating die from the Filled with Sweetness Bundle to cut the card front, ensuring the fold remained intact at the top. This creates a perfectly shaped card while still allowing it to open and close as normal.

For added detail, I white heat embossed the jar lines directly onto the background layer. This step really makes the jar shape stand out and gives a lovely glossy contrast against the coloured cardstock.

Adding Depth to the Lid

One of my favourite little details on this project is the lid.

After die cutting the lid piece, I lightly sponged it with matching ink to add depth and texture. This simple step makes such a difference! It stops the lid from looking flat and gives it a more realistic, dimensional feel.

To finish it off, I added a sweet ribbon bow across the top for that classic jam jar look.

Fussy Cut Details from the DSP

The jam jars and fruit elements were fussy cut directly from the Homemade Sweetness DSP. The designs in this paper are perfect for cutting out — no stamping required!

Layering these over the embossed jar background adds interest and makes each card feel full and layered without being bulky.

One version reads:

  • “You’re the Sweetest”

And the other:

  • “Love You Berry Much”

Both sentiments work beautifully with the playful fruit theme.

Misty Moonlight vs Granny Apple Green

Although the layout is identical, the two colour choices create very different looks:

  • Misty Moonlight feels slightly more classic and elegant.
  • Granny Apple Green brings a bright, cheerful and modern feel.

This just shows how changing your base colour can completely transform a design!

Why You’ll Love This Card Design

  • It’s a shaped card but still simple to create
  • The DSP does most of the decorative work
  • Minimal stamping required
  • Perfect for batch making
  • Ideal for multiple occasions

If you’ve never made a shaped card before, this is a brilliant one to start with.

Final Thoughts

I love how these turned out – they’re bright, happy and full of personality. The combination of white heat embossing, ink blending on the lid, and fussy cut DSP details really brings the jars to life.

Be sure to check out the video tutorial below where I walk you through the entire process step by step.

How to Make a Sweet Bug Card – Garden Green – Lovely Garden. – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Creating cheerful cards with character is always a joy, and today I’m sharing how I made this fun and playful Sweet Bug card. This design is full of movement and personality, making it perfect for sending a friendly hello to someone special.

The Sweet Bug stamp and die bundle from Stampin’ Up! is ideal for cards like this, especially if you enjoy adding colour, layers, and a touch of whimsy to your papercrafting projects.

Card Design Overview

This card features a Garden Green cardbase, which provides a rich, earthy backdrop and works beautifully with the Lovely Garden Designer Series Paper. I’ve used the DSP as side panels to frame the focal area and draw the eye straight to the centre of the card.

To help the main design stand out, the focal panel is matted onto Gold Foil sheet. This subtle shimmer adds a touch of elegance while still keeping the overall look fun and playful.

Sweet Bug Details

All of the images are stamped onto Basic White cardstock and coloured using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. These markers are perfect for smooth blending and bringing the sweet bug images to life with vibrant colour and depth.

Once coloured, all the images were die cut using the matching dies, making it easy to build up the scene. The little ants marching across the card add movement and storytelling to the design, and I’ve popped them up on Stampin’ Dimensionals for extra interest and dimension.

Finishing Touches

The combination of layered elements, gold foil accents, and raised details gives this card plenty of texture without feeling bulky. It’s a lovely example of how small details—like foam dimensionals and metallic mats—can really elevate a handmade card.

This card would be perfect for a friendly hello, a thinking-of-you message, or even a cheerful note just because.

This project combines the charm of winter birds with the sparkle of gold sequins, creating a card that’s both interactive and beautiful.

Fussy Cutting for a Personal Touch

The focal point of this card is the pair of winter birds, which I fussy cut directly from the Nests of Winter DSP. Fussy cutting enables you to accentuate specific elements from patterned paper, lending your card a unique, handcrafted appearance. The background panel also comes from the same DSP, tying the design together.

Creating a Full Card Panel Shaker

Instead of making a smaller shaker window, I opted for a full-panel shaker card for maximum impact. This means the entire card front is filled with sequins that move freely when you shake it. The movement and sparkle instantly grab attention, making it a card your recipient will love.

Using a Cello Bag for the Shaker Element

One of my favourite tricks for making shaker cards quick and easy is to use a cello bag. I cut down an A5 cello bag, enough for two shaker cards, added sequins—in this case, I used a mix of gold sequins for that festive shine. Attach the sealed panel to your card base, and you’ve got a stunning shaker effect without the need for foam tape or complicated construction.

Sentiment and Finishing Touches

The sentiment, “All the best in your new adventure!”, comes from the Peace on Earth stamp set. I stamped it in crisp black ink and layered it with coordinating cardstock to help it stand out against the busy shaker background.

The end result is a bright, cheerful, and fun card that’s surprisingly simple to create—perfect for celebrating new beginnings.

Revisiting Watercolour Pencils – Perfect for Easy Colouring – Framed Scenes – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

Sometimes the simplest tools give the most beautiful results, and today I’m sharing two cards that revisit a classic favourite—watercolour pencils. They’re perfect for easy colouring and give a soft, artistic look to your stamped images.

For these projects, I used the Framed Scenes stamp set with Fluid 100 watercolour paper as my base. The textured watercolour paper really makes a difference when blending, helping the colours move smoothly while keeping that lovely hand-painted effect.

Creating the Focal Images

Each card features one of the detailed scenic images from the Framed Scenes set. I stamped the designs with Stazon onto the Fluid 100 paper and then reached for both Watercolour Pencil Assortment 1 and 2 to add colour.

To blend the pencils, I used a Water Painter, which instantly transforms the pencil strokes into soft watercolour washes. I love how versatile this method is—you can keep things light and sketchy or layer up for bolder, richer colour.

On one card, I coloured the peaceful stone bridge scene, and on the other, the charming treehouse. Both images are framed beautifully with a faux gold frame for extra shine and impact.

Simple Sentiments, Big Impact

I kept the sentiments simple—“thinking of you” and “hello”—so the detailed watercoloured images remain the star of the show. Sometimes less is more, especially when your focal image is this pretty.

measurements

  • Pecan Pie Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces

Why Try Watercolour Pencils Again?

If it’s been a while since you’ve used your watercolour pencils, I’d really encourage you to bring them back out. They’re:

  • Easy to use, even for beginners.
  • Portable and mess-free.
  • Perfect for creating a quick watercoloured look without needing lots of supplies.

They’re also ideal for stamped images with fine detail, like those in the Framed Scenes set, because you can add colour exactly where you want it before blending.

A Mix of Layers and Texture

What really makes this card pop is the mix of bold patterns and soft florals. The black and white print adds a modern contrast to the watercolour blooms, while the turned-down corner draws the eye and invites curiosity.

I’ve added a delicate silver ribbon bow to emphasise the fold, and layered up one of the flowers to create depth. The sentiment “Hello” from the Sunshine Vibes set is stamped in a Strawberry Slush / Summer Splash to match the card base and surrounding florals—fresh, fun, and full of colour!
