The Little Dreamers and A New Star stamp sets work well together. The background was created using the emboss resist technique. It works so well don’t you think?

The little lion is from the Little Dreamers set. He is coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. All the colours used are listed and linked in the supply list below.

This card was made using the emboss resist technique. I heat-embossed a piece of white cardstock with clear embossing powder. Then, a layer of ink was applied over the top using blending brushes. The embossed areas will resist the ink leaving this lovely effect.

I have made this card in two different colour ways. The above is Coastal Cabana, Pool Pary and Lost Lagoon, below is Berry Burst and Bubble Bath. Which version do you prefer? Let me know in the comments below.

I’ve used this set previously to make a few cards. I decided to step it up with this card and use heat embossing alongside the ink blending. All the stamping is heat embossed with silver embossing powder. It will resist the ink blending, leaving the silver metallic lines.

I’ve coloured this card using the matching stencils. This gives these florals this lovely shading.

I love it when a stamp set matches a set of dies already in my stash. The Shop The Town stamp set fits the Let’s Go Shopping dies from the main annual catalogue. The stamp set can also be used with the Let’s Go Shopping stamp set. You can therefore build a variety of great Christmas scene cards.

As you know I love to colour. This card took a while to make but I found it so therapeutic to sit and colour. I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! Blends alcohol markers. They are so easy to blend and shade with.

Make a Gorgeous Festive Flower Card – How to Stencil a Background – Abundant Beauty – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demo – UK

I love how this card turned out. The flowers are so bright and pretty. I wanted my card to be a festive one so I limited my colour palette to the reds, greens and yellows. I was thinking of poinsettias. The flower is meant to be a sunflower I think. I have used it this way in a previous card. However, depending on how you colour it, it can be whatever you want it to be.

The Abundant Beauty stencil is a layering stencil but I did extra shading with both my blending brushes and sponge daubers. There are only 3 leaves on the stencil. I kept moving the stencil around to add more leaves and fill in the gaps in the design.

I do love stencils. They are amazing. There is so much you can do with them. I get every stencil Stampin’ Up! release. They are perfect for easy backgrounds and focal images alike.

The stencil I’ve used today is part of the Abundant Beauty pack. It creates a simple autumnal background. You can use just one ink colour or multiple colours as I’ve done today. I took my blending brushes and ink pads and had lots of fun.

I love using layering stencils, they make a card so easily. Layering stencils also allow you to create extra depth and dimension. You can layer simple colours for even greater interest.

I normally use Basic White cardstock but I decided to change things up this time and use Crumb Cake. This is the first time I’ve done this and I am so happy with the effect. Do you stencil on coloured cardstock?

I was inspired to make this card after watching a video on YouTube by Nichol Spohr. She used different products but I adapted it to what I had. I love the way it turned out.

It really isn’t difficult to achieve a seamless blended background. There are a number of tips I can give you. One is not to overload your blending brush, secondly, I tap off my brush on my grid paper before I start to blend and thirdly take your time going back and forwards between colours until you achieve something you are happy with.
