Silver Embossed So Many Stars Christmas Card

I have this one layer card to share with you today. The stamp set I used is So Many Stars and it screams silver heat embossed to me. I love cards like this that go back to the basics of paper, ink and stamps.

Silver Embossed So Many Stars Christmas Card
Silver Embossed So Many Stars Christmas Card

Heat embossing is always magic to me. I love the thrill of the dull silver powder turning to a beautiful silver metallic colour. The stamp set So Many Stars has a matching die set which you can purchase as a bundle for a 10% discount.

I’ve always loved the twinkling stars in the sky. I was born in central London and therefore it was a rare occurrence to see stars in the sky due to all the light pollution. Every year we visited my Granny in South Africa and I remember the wonder of seeing the stars in the night sky. They twinkled and I remember being in awe of how huge the universe was. Even still I love seeing the stars twinkling in the sky. They ground me in a busy world.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Night of Navy – 14.35cm x 10cm

Magnetic Flap Christmas Card Tutorial

I have this cute Christmas Card to share with you today. The stamp set I’ve used is Christmas Crowd. The sentiment says “Christmas Greetings from the Gang” on the flap. You lift the magnetic flap and find the gang waving hello to you.

Magnetic Flap Christmas Card Tutorial

I love this stamp set and wanted to use it more than once this year but was unsure how. The gang are coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers the same as before. I’ve done the colouring on fast forward but you can slow the video done to see the details. The blends do make colouring easy as the alcohol markers don’t leave lines and make blending super simple.

I adore the idea of this magnetic flap that shows the gang all waving Merry Christmas to you. It is so cute!!

Measurements

  • Shaded Spruce A6 Cardbase ( This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) 14.35cm x 11.5cm, scored at 1cm on the short side.

Embossed Tree – Memories of Home – Stampin’ Up!

Hello again, thank you for dropping by. I have this heat embossed tree card to share with you today. This whole card is one stamp from the Memories of Home stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Embossed Tree - Memories of Home - Stampin' Up!
Embossed Tree – Memories of Home – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve embossed this tree in silver embossing powder for a simple metallic look. I found the tree looked a little dull in just silver so I decided to colour in the baubles. I’ve used our standard Stampin’ Write markers to colour in. Colouring is super easy as the embossing helps you stay within the lines.

The whole image is matted on a piece of Wrapped in Plaid DSP. This paper has foiling one side and gorgeous patterns on the other side. As the foiling is in gold I decided to use the non-foiled side. The finishing touches are these wonderful Holiday Rhinestones that look like twinkling fairy lights around the tree.

Measurements

  • Shaded Spruce A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 12cm x 9cm
  • Wrapped in Plaid DSP – 14.35cm x 10cm

I love Christmas Trees. We normally have 3 in the house, one in the lounge, one in the hall and a third one in the upstairs hall. I’ve always enjoyed decorating them and enjoy the process as much as the finished product.

Mr Fox – Nature’s Beauty – Stampin’ Up!

I have this gorgeous wintery scene card featuring Mr Fox to share with you today. The stamp set is Nature’s Beauty and can be easily missed as it’s on the last page of the Autumn / Winter catalogue. This stamp set is part of Stampin’ Up!’s Making a Difference project. £2.50 from the sale of each set goes towards mental health organisations.

Mr Fox - Nature's Beauty - Stampin' Up!
Mr Fox – Nature’s Beauty – Stampin’ Up!

I love this wintery scene. It does seem to sum up our dream of winter in the UK. In reality, many of us don’t’ get much snow and when we do it turn to mush very quickly. We can dream though!!!

This card is very simple to make. All the elements bar Mr Fox are stamped in early espresso. I have sponged the sky with Balmy Blue which is the same blue as the cardbase. Mr Fox is a red fox and therefore stamped in Cajun Craze.

measurements

  • Balmy Blue A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

All the elements are stamped in one layer. Mr Fox is fussy cut but he is very easy to cut out. I love this type of Christmas card with a winter scene. What are your favourite types of Christmas Card? Let me know in the comments section.

Dinosaur Card Tutorial – Dino Days

Hello and thank you for stopping by. I have this cute dinosaur card to share with you today. I love this suite of products. It includes a stamp set, dies, enamel shapes and of course designer series paper (DSP).

Dinosaur Card Tutorial - Dino Days
Dinosaur Card Tutorial – Dino Days

This is very much as fantasy dinosaur card. I have matched the colours to the colours of the DSP. The dies cut out everything so there is no fussy cutting needed. In fact, the dies actually cut out the images from one of the sheets of DSP as well so you don’t even need to stamp to make this card if you don’t want to. Super easy and super fun!!!

I think this suite of products would be perfect for a child’s birthday party. You could make party bags, placemats, name cards, thank you cards, etc… The list just goes on. The images are bright and eye-catching to garner interest by little ones with short attention spans.

measurements

  • Pool Party A6 Cardbase (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

Personally, I’m not a great dinosaur fan. It was never something that interested me as a child. It is strange as we lived around the corner from the National History Museum in London with the famous “Dippy” the dinosaur in the entrance hall but there you go. I, therefore, have no idea of the names of any of these dinosaurs. Perhaps one of you can let me know in the comments section. Do you like dinosaurs?

some other fun projects

I’ve also used the Dinosaur DSP to make a gorgeous mini album that I will be featuring in a couple of weeks time as well.

Large Gift Box Tutorial – Brightly Gleaming

I have this gorgeous large gift box to share with you today. This uses the Brightly Gleaming Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP). This is a very good size box, perfect to house a present for a special someone.

Large Gift Box Tutorial - Brightly Gleaming
Large Gift Box Tutorial – Brightly Gleaming

The Brightly Gleaming DSP is gorgeous. One side of each sheet has copper foiling. I have used two different designs here to give you options when making this box. This box measures 6″ X 4″ X 2″. This paper is part of the Brightly Gleaming suite of products that includes the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and two ornament punches.

Large Gift Box Tutorial - Brightly Gleaming - Ornament paper
Large Gift Box Tutorial – Brightly Gleaming – Ornament paper

The bauble and sentiment have been heat embossed with copper embossing powder to match the paper and copper foil sheet. I love the way all the colours co-ordinate in the paper, inks and ribbon.

measurements

  • Pretty Peacock – 10″ X 8″ Scored at 2″ on all sides
  • Brightly Gleaming DSP 10 1/16″ X 8 1/16″ Scored at 2″ on all sides
  • Very Vanilla strip 2″ wide

The strip of Very Vanilla is the full length of an A4 sheet but was still too short as this is a large gift box. I had to add in an extra little piece that is hidden on the bottom of the box.

Tulips in Autumn – Greetings Card Tutorial

I have this simple and clean card to share with you. It features my favourite flowers, Tulips, which I love. I have therefore named it Tulips in Autumn. This stamp is from the “Winds of Change” stamp set which I have already used.

Tulips in Autumn - Greetings Card Tutorial
Tulips in Autumn – Greetings Card Tutorial

I was at the garden centre for lunch recently and the array of Tulips bulbs is mind-blowing. They come in such a fantastic range of colours, shapes and textures. Once upon a single tulip bulb sold for than craftsman’s annual salary. I love looking at all the tulips in Autumn and dreaming of their beauty in the Spring.

This card is much cheaper to make than that. I’ve stamped the tulip in memento black in and coloured it in with the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. The cotton real red ribbon just gives added interest to the background.

measurements

  • Whisper White A6 Cardbase (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Real Red – Brights designer series family stack – 14.35cm x 7.6cm

I love the combination of red and green. I don’t feel it just a Christmas colour. They are opposite sides of the colour wheel and therefore are complimentary colours.

I love floral cards and my favourite, of course, are Tulips. What are your favourite images on cards? Let me know in the comments section. I love reading your comments.

I have this simple fussy cut rose birthday card to share with you today. I have used the Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper (DSP). The flowers in this DSP have an embossed feel to them for added interest. I’ve matched my cardstock colours to that of the DSP.

Rose Birthday Card - Mosaic Mood DSP
Rose Birthday Card – Mosaic Mood DSP

The Mosaic Mood DSP is gorgeous. I’ve used it a number of times and I love it more and more each time. I’ve embossed the background Terracotta Tile cardstock with the Country Floral embossing folder to give interest where there are no other elements.

This is a very simple card but the DSP really makes it pop. I love cards like these as they require very little product to make something beautiful.

Removable Magnet Snowman – Christmas Card

I have a fun card to share with you today. This is a Christmas card with a twist. The snowman is a removable magnet. So you can lift him off the card and stick him on the front of your fridge. It is a card and gift all in one.

Removable Magnet Snowman - Christmas Card
Removable Magnet Snowman – Christmas Card

I think this is such a fun and novel idea for a card. I stamped and cut out the snowman using the Snowman Builder punch. He is assembled on real red cardstock. I then fussy cut him out, stuck magnets on his back and stuck him on come coastal cabana. This was then fussy cut out again. This makes for a sturdy little snowman that not only decorates the front of the card but anything magnetic too!!

Measurements

  • Coastal Cabana Cardbase – A6 – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Red Red Cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Let it Snow Designer Series Paper (DSP) 13.85cm x 95cm

I want to take a moment to mention the Let it Snow DSP. This is a beautiful paper collection. One side of each paper has images that have glitter on them. It is a sparkling, glittering and snowy collection indeed!!
