I was so excited when the gilded flakes came out and couldn’t wait to use them. Of course, I did and then put them away and forgot about them. I was watching a video about gilding flakes and thought I need to pull them out and use them again so I did. Here is what I came up with.

I tacked my piece of basic white cardstock down to the stencil with low tack tape so it wouldn’t move on me. Next, I used versamark ink through the stencil, removed the stencil and applied heat & stick powder. Remember not to overheat the heat and stick powder, move on to the next section as soon as it’s melted. The gilding flakes stick to the heat & stick powder. Buff away the excess flakes and there you go!!

How to Use the Knit Together Background Stamp

How to Use the Knit Together Background Stamp – Christmas to Remember – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

At first glance, background stamps can be quite intimidating. They are so big and take up so much space on a card. You can sometimes feel unsure how to use them in a way that doesn’t overpower everything. Tone on tone stamping in the background is a great way to use background stamps. It gives interest in the background but doesn’t detract from the focal image. That is what I’ve done here.

measurements

  • Thick Base White Cardstock – A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Crumb Cake – 14.35cm X 10cm – You can cut this further down after stamping.

Red is Beautiful and not just for Christmas

Red is Beautiful and not just for Christmas – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I do love the colour red and for me red is not just for Christmas. I’m not really into pastels, I love bright and bold colours. Which do you prefer?

Red is not just for Christmas - Thank You Card

I’m really happy with how this card turned out. I love it. It uses a few new items to my stash. The new mini catalogue went live on 4th August. The Heartwarming designer series paper is from a new suite of products called Heartwarming Hugs.

Have you noticed the fantastic bow on the card? This is the new Gift Wrapped stamp set that has a matching gift bow builder punch. There are three different designs of bow that can be punched out. How you colour them is up to you!!!

Cherry Blossom – Parisian Blossom Card

I have ultra simple card to share with you today. The inspiration for this card came from the all the Cherry Blossom that has been out in the last few weeks here in Lincoln. It has been everywhere!! I loved seeing it on my weekly trips to the supermarket. It was the highlight of the trip out.

Cherry Blossom - Parisian Blossom Card
Cherry Blossom – Parisian Blossom Card

The base colour here is Bermuda Bay, one of my all time favourites. Pool Party is the colour in the Parisian Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I think it goes perfectly with the Bermuda Bay. This DSP has champagne foiling which is so pretty.

I’ve tried to use up my scraps and retiring products so I can make the best use of them before they go. I don’t want them to just sit in my stash and not to see the light of day again. The Bermuda Bay ribbon is one of these items alongside the DSP.

Perennial Birthday is the stamp set here and it is retiring!! I thought it would but I was hoping it wouldn’t. I love it for this bold Happy Birthday sentiment. If there are any sets retiring that you love and don’t have then get them now before they go forever.

measurements

  • Bermuda Bay A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half then folded in half
  • Parisian Blossom DSP – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Whisper White – 9cm x 2.5cm
  • Champagne Foil Card – 9.5cm x 3cm

Detailed Hearts Die – Valentine’s Day Card

I have this beautiful Valentine’s Day Card to share with you today. This uses the delicate Detailed Hearts Die. Oh my but’s so lovely and dainty. I love it!!

Detailed Hearts Die - Valentine's Day Card - Stampin' Up!
Detailed Hearts Die – Valentine’s Day Card – Stampin’ Up!

This die is part of the Valentine’s Day suite in the new catalogue. The colours in the paper are Flirty Flamingo and Real Red so I decided to design this card with the same colours.

The Detailed Hearts Die is all one die. Most of the little hearts pop out and I am saving these to use on a shaker card. You can hide the adhesive behind the few hearts that don’t pop out or use an adhesive sheet as I have done here.

I used the Scripty embossing folder on the real red piece to give it some added interest behind the die-cut. All in all, this is a very simple and easy card to make but really has that wow factor.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Real Red – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Flirty Flamingo – 14.35cm x 10cm

Magnetic Flap Christmas Card Tutorial

I have this cute Christmas Card to share with you today. The stamp set I’ve used is Christmas Crowd. The sentiment says “Christmas Greetings from the Gang” on the flap. You lift the magnetic flap and find the gang waving hello to you.

Magnetic Flap Christmas Card Tutorial

I love this stamp set and wanted to use it more than once this year but was unsure how. The gang are coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers the same as before. I’ve done the colouring on fast forward but you can slow the video done to see the details. The blends do make colouring easy as the alcohol markers don’t leave lines and make blending super simple.

I adore the idea of this magnetic flap that shows the gang all waving Merry Christmas to you. It is so cute!!

Measurements

  • Shaded Spruce A6 Cardbase ( This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) 14.35cm x 11.5cm, scored at 1cm on the short side.

Come Sail Away altered notebook
Come Sail Away altered notebook

I am not normally a great sea person. I did think long and hard about buying this set but I’m really glad I did as I love it now. The designer series paper (DSP) is beautiful and is great for cards as well as altered items and mini albums.

measurements

  • Night of Navy cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ scored on the long side at 4 1/8″ from each side
  • Come Sail Away DSP 3″ X 3 3/4″

I love altering little notebooks, candles and such like. I have a box full of things waiting to be “improved” through crafting. The little notebook used here is a handy jotter from Wilko and cost only pennies. This is a lovely cheap project to make to include as part of a party bag.

Tea Bag Holder – Cute little gift for someone special

I have a cute little tea bag holder to share with you today. This is a simple and easy project for any beginner crafter. This little wallet holds two tea bags and will make a lovely little gift.

Tea Bag holder/wallet for someone special made using supplies from Stampin' Up!
Tea Bag holder/wallet for someone special made using supplies from Stampin’ Up!

I am not a huge tea drinker but will drink a couple of cups a day, usually one with breakfast and later on in the evening. The British in general are a nation of tea drinkers. I swear sometimes that this country runs on tea alone. If we were to run out of tea it would a national emergency!!

This wallet holds two tea bags but could equally hold some business cards or even as my mother suggested her bus pass!!

Measurements

  • Rich Razzleberry cardstock
    • 6 1/4″ X 3 1/2″, scored at 3″ on each side on the 6 1/4″ side
    • 4″ X 2″ X2 pieces scored at 1/2″ on both short sides and one long side
  • Rich Razzleberry Family Designer Series Pack
    • 3 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ X 1
      • 2 3/4″ x 1 1/4″ X 2

I find people appreciate little gifts like this to brighten up their day. It is amazing how something small makes someone’s day.

My question for you today is what is your favourite drink? Do you prefer tea or coffee? I personally find coffee too bitter and don’t like adding a ton of sweetener to make it drinkable. Neither of my parents drank coffee and so I suppose in some ways it is a learned habit.

I have a video tutorial with the accompanying supply list as usual.

Whatever you are doing today I hope you have a great day and until next time Enjoy Being Creative!!
