Come Sail Away Thank you Card – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve used the Come Sail Away designer series paper to make this simple and easy thank you card. This is a very clean and simple design and I hope you like it.

I love this Thank you sentiment from the Ornate Thanks stamp set. The font is great and it a lovely size to make an easy and simple card. Blue is my favourite colour and I love all the different blues in this card. I am normally scared to mix patterns but they work well here as they are all from the same collection and the colours are similar.

Measurements

  • Night of Navy A6 Card base – This is a A4 Sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Come Sail Away – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Whisper White – 11cm x 4cm
  • Come Sail Away – 10cm x 7.5cm
  • Come Sail Away – 12cm x 5cm

I have not used this DSP much this last year and think there will a few sheets going into my stash. I’m hoping next year I can do better and have very little going into my stash.

Male Thank You Card – Come Sail Away

I have a male thank you card to share with you today. This is a very simple card that uses the Come Sail Away designer series paper (DSP). I spent ages trying to think of a card to use this suite of products. In the end, I decided, that simple and easy was the best route to go. I think it turned out quite well.

The background colour in this paper is Very Vanilla as opposed to Whisper White. This gives the paper a vintage, shabby chic feel which is beautiful. I love DSP that has newsprint so this is a winner. I also think this paper would be great for a mini-album or scrapbook page. It would be perfect to document a cruise or for any with a nautical background.

We all struggle with cards for men. A card like this one really hits the spot as it’s simple and muted. I also think navy and brown are good safe colours as they are neutral.

I am not normally a great sea person. I did think long and hard about buying this set but I’m really glad I did as I love it now. The designer series paper (DSP) is beautiful and is great for cards as well as altered items and mini albums.

measurements

  • Night of Navy cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ scored on the long side at 4 1/8″ from each side
  • Come Sail Away DSP 3″ X 3 3/4″

I love altering little notebooks, candles and such like. I have a box full of things waiting to be “improved” through crafting. The little notebook used here is a handy jotter from Wilko and cost only pennies. This is a lovely cheap project to make to include as part of a party bag.

As always there is a video tutorial below and supply list
