I love yellow daisies. They look so happy and bright. My grandmother always had a yellow daisy bush in her garden back in South Africa. She used to pick some and have them in a little vase on the table.

I’ve mad this daisy look more 3D in a number of ways. The flower is actually four daisies of two sizes that I have punched out. They have then been run through an embossing folder and curled using a bone folder.

I love anything that has a mixed-media vibe to it. So much fun to play with colours, different textures and techniques. This background started off as a plain piece of basic white cardstock, can you believe it?

I’ve combined the embossed heat resist technique and blending brushes. It creates this gorgeous card. The butterflies are all one stamp set; Butterfly Brilliance.

A Little Lace – A Note to Say Hello – Card Tutorial – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

The stamp used here is a “A Little Lace”. It’s beautiful and I’ve used it a number of times in both cards and gift bags. It’s a great set to use to stamp your own patterned paper. You can make a bespoke design in just the colour and size you want.

The colours I used here are Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie. It keeps it very tone on tone and yet it is still vibrant and colourful. The elegant faceted gems just give it that touch of bling to lift the whole card.

I was so excited when I saw blending brushes in the new catalogue. They work a treat to blend inks. As you may know I love playing with colours and inks. I’ve always struggled to get a good blend with a sponge but with these blending brushes it was as easy as pie.

You don’t need a separate brush for each colour. I have one for each colour family, for example, one for blues, one for yellows / oranges etc…. I just store them in a cute penguin mug on my desk. Brilliant!!

Look at these Pretty Flowers – Two-Step Stamping – All Things Fabulous – Stampin’ Up!

When I showed my mother this card she was in awe of these flowers. They stamp so beautifully and look realistic. I used the stamparatus stamping tool and had not problem lining up the layers. I started with my lightest colour working towards the darkest. The stamp set is All things Fabulous and of course has matching dies to cut everything out, making super duper easy to make this card.

Beautiful Daisies – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial

I have this beautiful daisies card to share with you today. I do love daisies, they are such bright and cheerful flowers. Do you like daisies? My grandmother always had a yellow daisy bush in her garden and I still love them.

Beautiful Daisies - Stampin' Up! Card Tutorial
Beautiful Daisies – Stampin’ Up! Card Tutorial

The colours used here are Mango Melody, Crushed Curry and Daffodil Delight. They are from different Stampin’ Up! colour families but they go well together. They make a great sunny and happy card. I’ve embossed the background with the Country Floral embossing folder to give added interest.

measurements

  • Mango Melody A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

I used this stamp set, Daisy Lane, twice last year and never again. I don’t know why, as it is such a nice set. I’ve stamped it in the corresponding ink to the cardstock for a tone on tone effect. The gold faceted gems give the centres that touch of bling.

Dinosaur Card Tutorial – Dino Days

Hello and thank you for stopping by. I have this cute dinosaur card to share with you today. I love this suite of products. It includes a stamp set, dies, enamel shapes and of course designer series paper (DSP).

Dinosaur Card Tutorial - Dino Days
Dinosaur Card Tutorial – Dino Days

This is very much as fantasy dinosaur card. I have matched the colours to the colours of the DSP. The dies cut out everything so there is no fussy cutting needed. In fact, the dies actually cut out the images from one of the sheets of DSP as well so you don’t even need to stamp to make this card if you don’t want to. Super easy and super fun!!!

I think this suite of products would be perfect for a child’s birthday party. You could make party bags, placemats, name cards, thank you cards, etc… The list just goes on. The images are bright and eye-catching to garner interest by little ones with short attention spans.

measurements

  • Pool Party A6 Cardbase (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

Personally, I’m not a great dinosaur fan. It was never something that interested me as a child. It is strange as we lived around the corner from the National History Museum in London with the famous “Dippy” the dinosaur in the entrance hall but there you go. I, therefore, have no idea of the names of any of these dinosaurs. Perhaps one of you can let me know in the comments section. Do you like dinosaurs?

some other fun projects

I’ve also used the Dinosaur DSP to make a gorgeous mini album that I will be featuring in a couple of weeks time as well.

As always there is a video tutorial and supply list below. Thank you for visiting and until next time Enjoy Being Creative!!

Rainbow of Butterflies Thank you Card

I have this rainbow of butterflies card to share with you today. The stamp set is Butterfly Gala and of course, it has a matching Butterfly Duet punch. These butterflies are a great way to use up your scraps.

Rainbow of Butterflies Thank you card using the Butterfly Gala stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Rainbow of Butterflies Thank you card using the Butterfly Gala stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

The Butterfly Gala stamp set has four matching sets of butterflies making this an incredibly useful set. I have stamped them in black Memento ink on the following cardstock colours: Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape.

The rainbow effect is bold and beautiful and the card needs nothing more than a sentiment to complete it.

measurements

  • Granny Apple Green A6 Cardbase (A6 is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

In the summer I see so many butterflies in the garden flittering around from flower to flower. They are so gorgeous and intricate in their patterns and colours. A marvel of nature.

I love using punches as they make cardmaking so simple and easy. You don’t need loads of different tools. Punches are also easy to use for children and a card like this is perfect for a child to make.

I have a video tutorial and supply list below.

Sunset Silhouette – Art Journal Page

Today I have an art journal page featuring a sunset Silhouette to share with you, Stampin’ Up! style. This page uses the Silhouette Scenes stamps that I love. Stampin’ Up! brought out some new watercolour paper this year. This is my first time using it and it is amazing !!!

Sunset Silhouette - Art Journal Page - Silhouette Scenes - Stampin' Up! Style
Art Journal Page – Silhouette Scenes – Stampin’ Up! Style

To be truthful I wasn’t sure where I was going when I started this page but I love the colours. The watercolour paper makes blending these colours a doodle. I have used So Saffron, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie and they go together beautifully to produce this sunset silhouette page.

As with all painting and colouring, the trick is to layer colours, textures and images to achieve your overall picture. You can always add more colour but taking it away again is not so easy!!

This piece has a mixed media feel to it as I have used die cuts, stamps, ink and stencils in the piece. Mixed media art is a piece of artwork that combines various techniques, textures and mediums in one piece as in this sunset silhouette page.

I have a video tutorial below and supply list as always.
