How I made a Tonal Background – Timeless Tile – Focus Friday – Thank You Card – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demo! – Uk

I love how this card turned out. I used the Timeless Tile background stamp to give some tonal interest in the background. The background was too plain otherwise for my tastes. This is a Focus Friday card. This month we have been looking at using background and large stamps in our cardmaking.

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. For the month of July, we are looking at background stamps. These are large stamps that cover most if not all of the card front. They are usually repeating designs that add interest to a card without detracting from the focal image. They can also be large stamps that give you the focal image in one stamp.

Make a Beautiful Thank You Card Using Die Cuts – Amazing Thanks Dies – Eden Dies – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

This is a card we made recently in card club. I host an online card in my Facebook group each month. You receive a kit that includes everything you need to make cards just like this one.

This card uses only designer series paper (DSP) and die cuts. So effective!!! The juxtaposition of the dark Sunprints DSP and the white dies, really make each pop so well.

The colours I’ve used here are Tahitian Tide (blue) and Sweet Sorbet. I love blue and red/pink together. They really make each other pop. Everything is hand stamped. I love stamping my own backgrounds as you can tailor them to exactly our own tastes.

Dahlia Days – How to Make a Floral Thank You Card – Detailed Dahlia Dies – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demo – Lincoln UK.

I’ve had these doilies sitting in my stash for the best part of the year and never used them. That had to change, so I designed this card to start using them. I’m really pleased with how it turned out.

The Fresh Freesia layer at the back is all one die cut. It cuts beautifully and comes out of the die like a dream. I used the die brush attachment and the Take Your Pick Tool to get rid of all the little bits.

Oh my, I love these cute little ladybirds. They stamp beautifully and are so easy to put together. I’ve added little white accents on the ladybirds using a white gel pen. They really lift the whole image and make them pop. Sometimes it’s just a small detail that really makes or breaks a card. I do quite a bit of art journaling and am always using my white gel pen so thought I would into my cardmaking as well.

Tulip Fields – How to Use it – Thank You Card

As you will know I love tulips. These fields of tulips would be a dream to see in real life. In 2017 Stampin’ Up! had their On Stage Live in Amsterdam in the Spring. I got to see some lovely tulips in Amsterdam but not in the countryside. Wonder day I would love to return and visit the beautiful gardens of Keukenhof and see all the wonderful spring flowers.

This card came together very easily thanks to the Stamparatus which made positioning everything a doddle. I stamped on a larger panel and cut it down to size.

Easy Thank You Card – Ornate Thanks – Embossing

This is a companion card to the gift box that I made in the previous blog post. They both use the “You’re a Peach” designer series paper (DSP). This is a really easy card to make but still has that wow factor due to the heat embossed sentiment. It’s heat embossed in gold embossing powder to match the gold metallic sheet that I’ve used a mat for both the sentiment and DSP.

Welcome to another Focus Friday post. Every month I chose a particular area of crafting. Each Friday in that month we explore a different technique in that area. Today we are looking at using heat embossing with your stencils or masks.

This is actually a very easy technique. I just have a few tips to share with you. Firstly clean your mask/stencil of Versarmark ink well so that it doesn’t dry on the stencil. Secondly, make sure you tape your stencil down to your cardstock with a low tack tape so that it doesn’t move around. Thirdly have a little paintbrush handy to brush off any excess powder.
