Stencils/masks are a quick and easy way to make a background for your cards. Here I’ve used two of the masks from the Artistic Masks set. I’ve layered them up to create this fun pattern. Layering stencils allow you to add texture and depth of interest to your backgrounds.

These cards are very tonal. I laid the colour down with a blending brush, using the lighter colour first and adding interest with the darker one. I made this card in two different colour ways. Which do you prefer?

  • Bermuda Bay / Gorgeous Grape Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Basic White – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces
