Feels Like Frost Thank you Card – Stampin’ Up!

I can’t believe it is less than a week to Christmas. This is my last blog of this year. I will be back on the 3rd of January. I have a thank you card to share with you today featuring the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper – (DSP). This paper is going into hibernation at the end of this year but will be back in the Autumn / Winter Catalogue next year. YEAH!!!

Feels Like Frost Thank you Card - Stampin' Up!
Feels Like Frost Thank you Card – Stampin’ Up!

This is a quick and easy card to make that can easily be made in bulk. It’s perfect therefore for your Christmas thank you cards. The Feels Like Frost DSP is so beautiful and works for any winter card, not just Christmas.

I’ve used the Holiday Rhinestones as accent pieces here. I thought they would retire at the end of December but they are carrying over and I am so excited. I love them. The Holiday Rhinestones come as one pack of various sizes and various colours. So useful!!

measurements

  • Seaside Spray A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Night of Navy 14.35cm x 10cm

Let it Snow Money Wallet and Christmas Card

I have a money wallet to share with you today using the Let it Snow Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love this paper as it so vibrant and happy. This is actually the first money wallet I have ever made as I never give money as a present. I will from time to time give a gift card but I still like to buy presents that show you have put thought and time into your gift.

Let it Snow Money Wallet and Christmas Card
Let it Snow Money Wallet and Christmas Card

This card doubles as a proper card as well as a money wallet. There is plenty of space inside the card to write your message. I’ve done very little in term of embellishments and stamping as the paper is busy and too many embellishments would look cluttered I feel.

The main colours are Coastal Cabana and Real Red and I have repeated these colours in the card for continuity. This is not a standard card size and you would need to make a bespoke envelope to go with it. I did this as I wanted the card to have plenty of room for the money and your message.

measurements

  • Coastal Cabana A4 sheet trimmed to 16cm on the short side. Scored on the long side at
    • 12cm and 24cm
  • Let it Snow – 15cm x 11cm – Front of Card
  • Real Red Cardstock – 15.5cm x 11.5cm – Front of Card Mat
  • Let it Snow – 15cm x 4.5cm – Pocket
  • Real Red Cardstock – 15.5cm x 5cm – Pocket Mat
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm X 10cm – Insert
  • Real Red Cardstock – 15cm x 10.5cm – Insert Mat
  • Whisper White – 8.5cm x 2.5cm – Sentiment
  • Real Red Cardstock – 9cm x 3cm – Sentiment Mat

As this card has quite a layers I have used a hidden magnet to hold the front closed. I do love this paper and am sad it is retiring at the end of the year. I am making a mini album with my remaining sheets so I can enjoy it for years to come rather than it just sitting hidden in my stash.

Christmas Bauble – Let it Snow DSP – Stampin’ Up!

Hello again, I can’t believe it’s a week until Christmas. I have this cute little Christmas Bauble to share with you today. I’ve been making these for years. They can be made from Designer Series Paper (DSP) or different coloured cardstock.

Christmas Bauble - Let it Snow DSP - Stampin' Up!
Christmas Bauble – Let it Snow DSP – Stampin’ Up!

This Christmas Bauble is very easy to make. I used the 2″ circle punch and punched out 6 circles in two different sheets. This gives me four actual pattersns. Each circle is folded in half. You layer them together in the following order:

  • Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 2, Sheet 1, Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 2, Sheet 1, Sheet 1, Sheet 2, Sheet 2, Sheet 1.

In previous years, I’ve made this using six circles of Real Red card and then six circles of Old Olive. These are simple and quick but still, look beautiful.

I love making my own decorations. It makes my decor more unique and personal. I think it is also great to look back on hand made decorations and remember the memories associated with them.

I love the Let it Snow suite of products and have used it many times. The stamp set and snowman punch are carrying over but sadly the DSP is retiring. I am using the last up now making another Christmas Mini Album.

This bag uses Cherry Cobbler cardstock and my favourite Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP). The decoration if the Memories & More card from the Night Before Suite. I love how you can coordinate items from different product suites and they work perfectly.

Hanging Ornaments – Birds of a Feather

I have these super cute hanging ornaments to share with you today using the Birds of a Feather stamp set. These ornaments are very quick to make and are an easy way to occupy the kids for a few hours.

Hanging Ornaments - Birds of a Feather
Hanging Ornaments – Birds of a Feather

This last weekend was the Christmas Market here in Lincoln. I wanted to go on Thursday but the weather was foul so we ended up going on Saturday. It was very busy but I got some photos and it was fun looking at all the craft stalls. I saw some of these wooden ornaments for sale but none were stamped so I thought I would share mine with you.

I am thinking of taking a stall next year in the craft section of the market and wanted your opinion on my projects. Do you think these ornaments are good enough to sell and secondly do you think anyone would buy them?

I got these blank ornaments on Amazon and stamped them using Stazon ink. They are coloured in using our Stampin’ Write Markers. I used a Signa Uniball white pen to colour the trims white. I did stamp both sides of them so they look pretty from any angle.

Elfie Christmas Card
Elfie Christmas Card

The colours here are Poppy Parade and Call me Clover. They are great Christmas colours, especially for this elf. I’ve coloured the image in with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to match the cardstock and paper colours.

If you do Elf on The Shelf then this stamp is a perfect accompaniment. You can make matching gift tags, greetings cards and Christmas decorations.

I love simple and easy cards like this. Again this is a great card for kids to make as you stamp the image and then can have fun colouring them in.

I wanted to let people know that the last order date is the 15th December for orders to arrive before Christmas. The Autumn / Winter catalogue though goes through until 3rd January.

Yummy Christmas – Gingerbread for anyone?

I have another card to share with you today. I wasn’t sure about Yummy Christmas when I saw it in the catalogue and didn’t buy it but gave in on my next order and bought it. Great decision. I love it now!!

Yummy Christmas
Yummy Christmas

I love colouring and find it so therapeutic. You can get lost for hours colouring. I started papercrafting through watercolouring and am still fascinated with colours and mixing colours. I’ve used the Stampin’ Blends to colour in here. They are fast becoming my favourite colouring medium as blending is so easy and they leave no lines.

The Yummy Christmas stamp set also coordinates with the Cuckoo Dies which also match the Cuckoo For You stamp set in the Annual Catalogue. It is a very versatile paring.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Wrapped in Plaid – 14.35cm x 10cm

I how bright and cheerful this stamp set is. I actually don’t ever eat any Gingerbread as I’m not a great biscuit person. As a Type 1 diabetic I just can’t be bothered to take insulin to cover biscuits and such, so just don’t eat them instead.

The Bells are Ringing – Christmas Card Tutorial

It is yet another grey and ugly day in Lincoln. I have this gorgeous Bells are Ringing Christmas card to share with you. Bad weather days are perfect for crafting I think. What do you think?

The Bells are Ringing - Christmas Card Tutorial
The Bells are Ringing – Christmas Card Tutorial

I haven’t used this set yet and now I wish I had. These bell dies are beautiful. They are intricate and cut so cleanly. I didn’t have to pick out any bits from them. This card is very simple but the sentiment does ring out a true note of Christmas. It is my favourite sentiment from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Night of Navy cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 9.5cm x 7cm
  • Whisper White – 9cm X 6.5cm

This blog post will go live on the 2nd of December. I am doing it early though as I have to take my mother to Queens Medical Centre for an eye appointment. They are going to put a dye in her vein that will go up to her eyes so they can verify whether her macular generation is wet or dry. I think it’s wet in this eye though, as I am sure that is what Moorfields in London told us.

Back to a lighter note, have you started making your Christmas Cards yet? Do you still make many? I feel the decline in card giving in the last of years is quite sad. I love receiving a card with a personal message from someone.
