Make a Card that is Bold, Bright & Easy

I love how this card turned out. The contrast between light, dark, bold and bright really works. The colours are Poppy Parade, Basic Black and Basic White and they all compliment each other perfectly. I was tempted to add more embellishments but I think it would distract rather enhance this card.

measurements

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock – A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Basic Black – 14.35cm X 10cm

Easy Congratulations Card with No Stamping Required – Hand-Penned – Memory & More Cards – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demo – UK.

This card uses the gorgeous Hand-Penned suite of products. Specifically, I’ve used the designer series paper (DSP) & Memory and More Cards. The Memory & More cards are not just for pocket scrapbooking, they work great for cardmaking as well.

I’ve inked the edges of everything. This helps each layer pop from the other. The sentiment is a sticker but I’ve popped it up with dimensional to make it stand out against everything else.

See Me Use my Free Stamp Set. Catching Butterflies – Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

This is one of the gorgeous stamp sets I got free during Sale-a-bration (SAB). I love it. Such a simple design and perfect for little girl cards this Spring. What is SAB you may ask? SAB is a promotion currently running with Stampin’ Up! where you can get free stamp sets with any purchase over £45.00. Too good to miss out!

I’ve used the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers to colour this scene in. I limited the colour palette to Reds, Oranges and Yellows to keep the card vibrant and bright. As you know I love colouring so I just relaxed and enjoyed myself colouring this card.

Do any of you remember a series on Tv called Rainbow Brite. I had the doll and few other bits if I recall correctly. I think I also did a tapestry of her but not sure where that is now. Rainbows are magic to me. There is a scientific reason why they happen but to see one in the sky is magic.

In the new catalogue Stampin’ Up! brought out some soft pastels and I’ve been dying to play with them. They are beautifully soft and creamy. I blended them with water and then went over the image again with pastel to get a better blend. It is definitely a learning curve and I know I am going to have fun learning and playing more with these new colouring mediums.

How cute are these? I struggled with the design for a cute little box for ages and then made this design my mistake and decided to stick with it. The pretty paper is from the Sweet Symmetry suite and gives this project a lovely summer vibe. I did two colour ways, Just Jude and Calypso Coral. Which do you like best? I love how this card turned out. These flowers are so pretty. They were super easy to create using the Stamparatus. The stamp set is Art Gallery and it’s a two-step stamping set. Check out the video below for some tips & tricks for using the Stamparatus that make two-step stamping a breeze. Bermuda is my favourite colour and even though it may not be a typical colour for a flower I think they look amazing.

How to Make an Off-Set Gatefold Card – Dragonfly Garden – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

This card is made using the Dragonfly suite from the mini catalogue. Dragonflies are a favourite of my upline Amanda Fowler and I was thinking of her when I created this card. My favourite part of this card is the gorgeous rhinestones that I have used for the bodies of the dragonflies.

Gatefold cards are very easy to make as you are just scoring a normal cardbase slightly differently. The one dragonfly creates my closure so the card will still stand up.

So, I have a question for you. Which do you prefer dragonflies or butterflies? Let me know in the comments below. I think I am a butterfly girl as I love seeing them flittering among all the pretty flowers.

measurements

  • Thick Basic White Cardbase – An A4 sheet cut in half down the vertical orientation, 10.5cm X 29.7cm, scored on the long side at 5cm & 20cm

Make a Congratulations Card – Using your Scraps – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

This is a very simple card based on a sketch. All the banners are made from scraps of designer series. The Banners Pick a Punch makes this so easy. You can make banners of 3 different widths and any length. So easy to line up and layer. The stamp set is Handrawn Blooms. I’ve cut out using a circle die and spotlighted certain flowers in yellow. Spotlighting is quite an effective technique to make an element pop from its background.

This project actually has no stamping in it. Shock, horror!! These little “milk cartons” are so cute and perfect for a little gift. The paper is the gorgeous “Flowers for Every Season”. I love the daisy pattern but of course the tulips trump them in my heart. The closure is a little bulldog clip. So dinky!!! The sentiment comes from the matching Memory & More cards. I just cut them out and stuck them on. Super easy.

I normally struggle with shaker cards but this one was super easy to make and I was over the moon with how it turned out. How pretty is this card? These shaker mason jar domes are seriously cute. I’m definitely buying a few more packs to hoard. Everything is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. Colouring in is so therapeutic. It keeps me out of mischief for hours!!

The stamp set is Jars of Love. It comes with many different bunches of flowers and even the stems to stamp in the jar. I’ve fussy cut the flowers out and of course there is a matching mason jar punch.
