I really enjoyed creating this scene using my dies. I combined dies from two different sets, Freezin’ Fun and Special Day. We forget sometimes that dies don’t just have to be used with the matching stamp set but can be used with others to create something different.

I sponged all my die cuts with the matching ink to give them extra definition, shadows and allow them to really pop on the scene. My two favourite dies are the stitched rolling hill and the grass. They are just great.

Birthdays need Happy and Balloons – Stampin’ Up!

I’m really happy with how this card turned out and am planning to do it in my online card club soon. I’ve employed some basic colour theory here and gone with what I call our Stampin’ Up! primaries which are Daffodil Delight (yellow), Pacific Point (blue) and Real Red. As they are all primary colours I know they will work together and they really pop against this white background.

The dies coordinate with the stamp set and aptly named the Happy Dies. I love this big happy die cut that I’ve used as my focal image here. It really is big and bold which as you know I love.

See the Magic – Heat Embossed Balloon – Stampin’ Up!

I love the magic of heat embossing. I remember the awe the first time I did it. This dull powder turning into this glossy, metallic. beautiful colour. It is pure magic to me. I’ve used this stamp set before but wanted to use it again as I love the idea of the birthday sentiment enclosed in this balloon of flowers.

Do you not think this paper is gorgeous? It’s from Plaid Tidings and I am use this set of papers over and over again. They are such pretty patterns and so versatile for any occasion.

Try This Pretty Gift Box filled with Yummy Chocolates using the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

Try This Pretty Gift Box filled with Yummy Chocolates
Try This Pretty Gift Box filled with Yummy Chocolates

I’ve not been going out much in the last few months. The other week I ventured out to Poundland. I went early around 8am before anyone was around. I picked up these chocolates and decided to make a little box to give them as little gift.

The paper here is the Peony Garden. It is a quite a pastel set of paper and therefore looks good against a dark background. I think the glittered black ribbon just make this box.

Look at these Pretty Flowers – Two-Step Stamping – All Things Fabulous – Stampin’ Up!

When I showed my mother this card she was in awe of these flowers. They stamp so beautifully and look realistic. I used the stamparatus stamping tool and had not problem lining up the layers. I started with my lightest colour working towards the darkest. The stamp set is All things Fabulous and of course has matching dies to cut everything out, making super duper easy to make this card.

Happy Belated Birthday - Stampin' Up!
Happy Belated Birthday – Stampin’ Up!

This is a super easy card to make when you have forgotten someone’s birthday and you need a card in a hurry. The stamp set is “Happiest of Birthdays” and I love it for it’s big bold sentiments.

I’m not normally a green girl but I love his Granny Apple Green pattern here in the Artistry Blooms designer series paper (DSP). The sequins are from the came collection and just give that added bling to the card.

Razzleberry Hearts make for a Happy Birthday - Stampin' Up!
Razzleberry Hearts make for a Happy Birthday – Stampin’ Up!

I love how this card turned out. The Plaid Tidings designer series paper (DSP) is becoming a firm favourite of mine. It is great for all cards not just Christmas or Autumn ones. The tone on tone of the Rich Razzleberry is just so pretty.

The heart is punched out using one of the heart punches from the heart punch pack. One of the hearts has this scalloped edge to it and the other is straight. They of course coordinate with hearts in the Heartfelt stamp set as well. They are very versatile and a great addition to my stash.

measurements

  • Rich Razzleberry A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm X 10cm

Woof Woof! Do you Want to be my Doggie Friend? Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I love this little doggie from the Pampered Pets stamp set. He is beyond cute.

Woof Woof! Do you Want to be my Doggie Friend? - Pampered Pets stamp set - Stampin' Up!
Woof Woof! Do you Want to be my Doggie Friend? – Pampered Pets stamp set – Stampin’ Up!

I live in small close with only 6 houses. At one of the houses lives two little dogs, one of which looks just like this little fellow. They are super friendly and cute. Quite often you will find them sitting in the window and they always bark and wag their tails as you pass by. I’ve nick named them “The Yappers” They are best guard dogs as you will never get passed them.

To get back to his card, I coloured in the dog with the Stampi’ Blends alcohol markers in Smokey Slate. I love colouring in with alcohol makers as they blend so easily and don’t leave any lines from colouring.

Measurements

  • A6 Real Red Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half

What Beautiful Flowers – Ornate Garden

The colour used here is Bumble Bee and what a pretty yellow it is. The green is Old Olive. If you know your colour theory then you will know that yellow and green are next to each on the colour wheel and so they sit well together. They are friends in other words.

I love big sentiment cards such as these. The sentiment comes from a favourite set of mine So Sentimental. I love this set as it has a great array of sentiments and is so versatile. I’ve used it many times and will link some projects using them below.

What a Beauty – A Little Lace Birthday Card – Stampin’ Up! – Independant Stampin’ Up Demonstrator in Lincoln UK

I love this stamp set “A Little Lace” It is just beautiful. I’ve used it a few times before and every time I am just in awe of how pretty my projects turn out.

What a Beauty - A Little Lace Birthday Card - Stampin' Up!
What a Beauty – A Little Lace Birthday Card – Stampin’ Up!

The colour used here is Gorgeous Grape. It is such a bold colour and contrasts so well with the Whisper White. I’ve done this layering technique before and have linked the project below. It is a simple technique but works well. The rhinestones just give that touch of bling and in all fairness who doesn’t need a little bling?

measurements

  • Gorgeous Grape A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Gorgeous Grape Cardstock :
    • 13.85cm X 9.5cm
    • 12.85cm X 8.5cm
  • Whisper White:
    • 14.35cm X 10cm
    • 13.35cm X 9cm
    • 12.85cm X 8cm

I hope you are all doing well. I’m quite far ahead in my blogging so when I write this we have got through a heatwave. Although I deal with the heat and didn’t even need the fan except for about 10 minutes a night I am glad the temperatures have come down. I wish we could have got some rain though as the grass is parched.
