Pop of Petals Congratulations Card

I have a beautiful floral card to share with you today. It uses the Pop of Petals stamps set and matching punch. This card does pop and is a lovely bright congratulations card for any flower lover. I love flowers and feel sad as the flowers start to die and Autumn comes. This card can keep them alive.

I love the pinks in this card. They are Melon Mambo, Rococo Rose and Lovely Lipstick. These colours all work so well together. I’ve given this card some bling with rhinestone centres for the flowers.

These little flowers from the Pop of Petals set are a great way to use up all those scraps we have lying around our craft rooms. A card like this one is great for children to make as they can stamp all the flowers and punch them out. They can have great fun arranging and glueing down all the flowers and leaves however takes their fancy.

Measurements

  • Blueberry Bushel A6 cardbase (A6 cardbase is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

As always there is a video tutorial and supply list below.

One Sheet Bag – A Little Lace

I have a simple one-sheet bag that uses the Little Lace stamp set from Stampin’ Up!. This is a great project for kids as the bag involves only scoring and no cutting. Therefore no scissors for little fingers to get caught in.

One sheet bag made using the Little Lace stamp set from Stampin' Up!
One sheet bag made using the Little Lace stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I first made a version of this bag when I did a make and take with a group of Girl Guiders in Hounslow, London. It was a great success and everyone went away feeling proud of their creations.

This is also a cheap bag to make as it only uses one sheet of whisper white cardstock. I stamped the bag using the A Little Lace stamp set. It is a red rubber stamp set and it stamps crisply giving a clean and elegant image. I actually chose Lovely Lipstick as the colour as I have the matching ribbon in that colour.

Measurements

  • Whisper White A4 sheet,
    • Score on the short side at 2 inches from each side
    • Score on the long side at 4 7/8 inches from each side

A bone folder is essential for this project. An investment in a good bone folder is worth its weight in gold. It will help you get crisp scorelines that fold easily and look professional. I love the Stampin’ Up! as it has a good weight to it.

Happy Tails – A Card for Dog Lovers

I have a very simple and easy doggy card to share with you using the Happy tails set from Stampin’ Up!. This set has a great matching punch. I love punches as they are so easy to use and make cardmaking so quick and easy.

Happy Tails stamp set, perfect for a dog lovers card.
“Happy Tails” stamp set, perfect for a dog lovers card.

This card is super cute with the little paw prints leading from the doggy to the sentiment. I just love it. To be frank I am more a cat person nowadays that a dog person. Saying that I still do enjoy watching the dogs running free in the park. Animals do know how to live in the moment and not worry about the future. I find that so beautiful to watch.

measurements

  • Soft Suede A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half again)
  • Neutrals family stack DSP – Crumb Cake – 14.35cm X 10cm

If you are not a dog person there is a similar set with a matching punch called Nine Lives. I have done a project with this set which you can find here.

Magnolia Bookmark Tutorial

I have a bookmark to share with you today that I made using both Magnolia stamps sets from Stampin’ Up! I love this magnolia bookmark as it is involves colouring in which I find therapeutic. Floral stamp sets are some of my favourite ones and I have used these stamps many times already.

Magnolia Bookmark Tutorial using stamp sets from Stampin' Up!
Magnolia Bookmark Tutorial using stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!

I used the blends to colour in this bookmark. The blends are alcohol markers from Stampin’ Up! and they really do blend beautifully. The colouring feels seamless with no lines or blotches. I have never managed very well with alcohol markers from other companies but the blends are a dream.

The Magnolia Blooms and Goodmorning Magnolia are all part of a huge suite of products called Magnolia Lane. The suite includes matching dies, embossing folder, designer series paper (DSP) and lots more.

I have kept the colour palette limited to Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow. This gives an elegant look without risking colours clashing.

Sunset Silhouette – Art Journal Page

Today I have an art journal page featuring a sunset Silhouette to share with you, Stampin’ Up! style. This page uses the Silhouette Scenes stamps that I love. Stampin’ Up! brought out some new watercolour paper this year. This is my first time using it and it is amazing !!!

Sunset Silhouette - Art Journal Page - Silhouette Scenes - Stampin' Up! Style
Art Journal Page – Silhouette Scenes – Stampin’ Up! Style

To be truthful I wasn’t sure where I was going when I started this page but I love the colours. The watercolour paper makes blending these colours a doodle. I have used So Saffron, Mango Melody and Pumpkin Pie and they go together beautifully to produce this sunset silhouette page.

As with all painting and colouring, the trick is to layer colours, textures and images to achieve your overall picture. You can always add more colour but taking it away again is not so easy!!

This piece has a mixed media feel to it as I have used die cuts, stamps, ink and stencils in the piece. Mixed media art is a piece of artwork that combines various techniques, textures and mediums in one piece as in this sunset silhouette page.

Envelope Album – Perennial Essence – Stampin’ Up!

Today, I’m sharing this lovely envelope album with you. The construction is very simple, in that it consists of only 10 envelopes. That’s right you only need 10 envelopes and you are ready to make your album.

Envelope Album decorated with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!
Envelope Album decorated with the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

I’ve been watching lots of videos on YouTube of mini-albums. They are may ways of making a mini album and I wanted to try an envelope one. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t find a style of construction that I liked so I decided to make it up as I went along.

Measurements

  • The envelopes used are a standard C6 which will fit a normal A6 cardbase.
  • Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP) 6″ X 4″
  • Blackberry Bliss and Blushing Bride mat pieces 6″ X 4″

The album holds 9 photos. Below is a double-page spread in the album.

Envelope Album - Double page spread.
Envelope Album – Double page spread.

A photo is on the right side and the Perennial Essense DSP on the left. I want to take this moment to mention the Praiseworthy Prose stamp set. This set contains seven definitions eg grateful, cheerful and family which have been stamped in Blackberry Bliss. I’ve placed a picture to correspond with each definition.

This album is so easy to make. I’ve made a video tutorial below along with the supply list.

I’m in love with making mini albums. I am making one currently with the Dino Roar DSP and have just completed one with the Magnolia Lane DSP. I will show you them in the next few weeks.

New Catalogue – New Goodies

Can you believe it’s only a few weeks to September when the new catalogue is launching. As a demonstrator, I was able to preorder from the new Autumn / Winter catalogue and my new box of goodies arrived last Wednesday. I am so excited to share them with you.

New Catalogue from Stampin' Up!

This new catalogue is amazing. It is a real struggle to decide what to order and I may have gone a bit mad but you can never have too much craft stuff, right?

The new catalogue covers Autumn, Halloween and of course Christmas. I am not a great fan of Halloween so I didn’t buy any of those items but there is a great variety of paper, stamps and dies if you do celebrate Halloween.

Christmas, I adore, even though I don’t celebrate the religious aspect of it. I was born exactly three weeks before Christmas. I tend to merge the two celebrations into a three week period of joy. This catalogue does have a good variety of religious and non-religious stamps.

The designer series paper (DSP) in this catalogue is out of this world. I was squealing as I opened and yes, stroked each sheet. Some of of the DSP has foiled elements and others have glitter that doesn’t come off on your fingers.

Enough of me talking about it, you want to see it. I have therefore done a haul video which I linked below.

If you want a copy of the new catalogue then send me a message via the contact me button and I will send one to you.

Daisy Lane Thank you Card Tutorial

Daisy Lane and Daisy Delight are being used here together to create this simple thank you card. Both of these stamps sets coordinate beautifully with the Daisy Punch making them even more useful.

Daisy Lane and Daisy Delight are used to create this Thank You Card
Daisy Lane and Daisy Delight are used to create this Thank You Card

I love the fact that the Daisy punch, punches the daisies in both the Daisy Lane and Daisy Delight stamp sets. This makes them so useful to the crafter who is always looking to find more ways to use their stash.

measurements

  • A6 cardbase in Merry Merlot – ( A6 cardbase is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

As I have said before I do love daisies. Our daisies are still flowering beautifully here in Lincoln. We have purple, yellow and white ones in the garden. I think flowers really do brighten up the world.

The Daisy Lane stamp set is available to purchase as a bundle with the medium daisy punch at a saving of 10%.

I have stamped the daisy onto the whisper white cardstock, before layering over the punched daisy, so that when you fluff the petals up you won’t see white space underneath. The Gold Faceted Gems gives the centre of the daisy a real bling element. The mini bubbles are from the Artisan Textures set and simulate pollen blowing in the breeze.

A Royal Peacock – Card Share

Royal Peacock is a stunner of a stamp set. The images jump out at you from the page. This set also has a matching die set that you can buy as a bundle and save 10%.

A Royal Peacock using the set from Stampin' Up!
A Royal Peacock using the set from Stampin’ Up!

I love peacocks. This card is very simple as it is using the “Royal Peacock” as the main focal image on top of designer series paper (DSP).

measurements

  • Coastal Cabana A6 cardbase ( A6 is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Bermuda Bay DSP from the Brights 6″ X 6″ stack – 10cm x 14.35cm

When I live in London, I was working very close to Holland Park and there are peacocks in Holland Park. They are very tame and in the Spring they love to display to anyone who is watching. I have numerous photos of them displaying. They turn around in a full circle so that everyone can get a good photo. They have a very distinctive squawk which can be heard through the whole park.

I remember one year, there were babies and my workplace had a competition to name the four new babies. It was very exciting to see the new baby peacocks.

I gave the peacock a beautiful rhinestones tail to display just like the peacock in Holland Park.

Watercolouring – Peaceful Place Stamp set

I love watercolouring. I was painting before I ever started papercrafting and cardmaking. The flow of colours and the way they mix continue to fascinate me. Colouring in has also always been a very soothing and therapeutic way to spend a couple of hours.

Watercolouring using the Peaceful Place stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Watercolouring using the Peaceful Place stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

This stamp set has been in my stash for over a year and I haven’t used it until now. I am glad I am using it now as I love it. The image is one whole stamp and that makes scene building a breeze. I’ve stamped the image in Stazon ink and then used both sets of watercolour pencils to “paint” the colour.

Measurements

  • Night of Navy A6 cardbase (A6 is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.)

I have not given measurements for the Shimmery White, Pacific Point or Balmy Blue as I cut these as I go depending on how I stamp, paint and cut the stamped image.

This scene is perfection to me. I could quite happily spend a few hours on the banks of that stream with a book and not a care in the world. The natural world is a love of mine and I enjoy spending time in it whenever I can.
