I Love Paris Card Share Tutorial – Stampin’ Up!

I have this French-inspired “I love Paris” card using the Parisian Blooms Suite of products. This card is ideal if you like soft, muted colours.

The Eiffel Tower is one of those icon structures that is recognised the world over. To me, it is the symbol of Paris and of love. I’ve used the shimmery laser-cut speciality designer series paper as a layer over the Parisian Blooms paper.

measurements

  • Parisian Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP) 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Thick Very Vanilla A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)

So have you been to France? We started to learn French very early in school. I think I was about 7 years old or even younger. The junior school I went to had a sister school in France, about two hours inland from Bordeau. From the age of 9, we visited as a class for 10 days each year for the last 3 years of school. Living in London I loved the freedom, beauty and silence of the French countryside. I would love to live in France or an extended period of time so that I was totally fluent in French.

It Starts with Art – Friendship Card

It Starts with Art is one of my favourite stamp sets. The sentiments are super cute and the whole suite is superb for crafters everywhere.

I think this stamp set is also great for scrapbooking. You can make your own embellishments with the stamped images and matching dies. The dies also have extra pieces to make buttons, paper clips and such like.

Normally, I wouldn’t put Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana together but they actually work quite well. The images are all coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. There is no Coastal Cabana in the Stampin’ Blends so I used Pool Party and Bermuda Bay instead. They work well together.

measurements

  • Coastal Cabana A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Follow Your Art – 14.35cm x 10cm

other projects using this Suite

I love the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper (DSP). I have quite a bit of this paper still and I want to use it up. What do you suggest I make with it? I was thinking of another mini album to hold tags?#

Under my Umbrella – Stampin’ Blends Markers

I have this cute, bright and sunny card to share with you today. I knew I wanted to get “Under My Umbrella” the minute I saw it in the catalogue. The flowers growing in the wellies are just so dinky.

Under my Umbrella - Stampin' Up!
Under my Umbrella – Stampin’ Up!

I debated what colours to use in this card and eventually went for so saffron, balmy blue, highland heather and old olive. I think they make the card look like a summer’s day.

Everything is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I love the seamless colouring and easy shading of the Stampin’ Blends. What is your favourite colouring medium? I do love watercolouring but the Blends are great for quick and easy colouring too.

measurements

  • So Saffron A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • So Saffron Subtles Designer Series Paper – 14.35cm x 10cm

I can’t wait for spring and all the flowers to start coming out. The trees always look so bare without their leaves. I wanted to make a card to remind me of the sunny days that will hopefully come soon.

See a Silhouette – Happy Birthday – Stampin’ Up!

I haven’t used the See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper (DSP) as yet and thought I would change that with this card. This card is bright and bold but very simple and easy to make.

See a Silhouette - Happy Birthday - Stampin' Up!
See a Silhouette – Happy Birthday – Stampin’ Up!

The See a Silhouette DSP has a sheet with all these flowers on it. I’ve fussy cut these out to use on this card. It was super easy to do while I was watching TV. I’ve used the DSP for the background as well. The sentiment is from one of my favourite sets Perennial Birthday. I love big and bold sentiments as they make for easy and simple cards.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • See a Silhouette DSP – 14.35cm x 10cm

I am pleased that I’ve used this DSP and I think I rather like it. I want to try and use up as much of my paper before it retires at the end of May. Do you have any crafting goals for this year?

How to Make a Travellers Notebook – Junk Journal

This is my first attempt at a junk journal. I decided to make in the style of a traveller’s notebook. It turned out great, I think. I used the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP) to decorate it.

How to Make a Travellers Notebook – Junk Journal

Making mini albums is one of my favourite things to do. I love how out of a few pieces of chipboard you can create something unique and beautiful to hold all your precious memories and mementoes.

This travellers notebook (TN) is made from chipboard. It measures 7 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ with a 1 1/2″ spine. You can make them whatever size you want though. If you wanted to you can make the basic album and instead of making a TN you could widen the spine and use a hinge binding system instead.

measurements

  • Chipboard 7 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ X 2, spine – 7 1/2″ x 1 1/2″
  • Early Espresso cardstock – 9 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ X 2, A4 sheet cut to 7 1/4″ on the short side

Detailed Hearts Die – Valentine’s Day Card

I have this beautiful Valentine’s Day Card to share with you today. This uses the delicate Detailed Hearts Die. Oh my but’s so lovely and dainty. I love it!!

Detailed Hearts Die - Valentine's Day Card - Stampin' Up!
Detailed Hearts Die – Valentine’s Day Card – Stampin’ Up!

This die is part of the Valentine’s Day suite in the new catalogue. The colours in the paper are Flirty Flamingo and Real Red so I decided to design this card with the same colours.

The Detailed Hearts Die is all one die. Most of the little hearts pop out and I am saving these to use on a shaker card. You can hide the adhesive behind the few hearts that don’t pop out or use an adhesive sheet as I have done here.

I used the Scripty embossing folder on the real red piece to give it some added interest behind the die-cut. All in all, this is a very simple and easy card to make but really has that wow factor.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Real Red – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Flirty Flamingo – 14.35cm x 10cm

The Gang’s All Meer Card – Stampin’ Up!

I have a card to share with you today using the sale-a-bration offering stamp set “The Gang’s All Meer”. These adorable little meerkats are coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers.

The Gang’s All Meer Card – Stampin’ Up!

Aren’t these little guys so cute? I’m surprised to see how obsessed people are with meerkats as they are not animals we find in the UK. As some of you may know my mother was born in South Africa. My grandparents were farmers in the Orange Free State and we had meerkats on the farm. You may not know but meerkats are insectivores which is great. They hoover up all these nasty creepy crawlies but also do like eggs. My Granny kept hens for personal use and to sell the eggs. You had to be wary of the meerkats as they loved to get into the hen house and steal the eggs. The naughty little rascals!!

In this card, I’ve used the main stamp and just repeat stamped it across the card to get a whole gang of meerkats. I love colouring in and found it so therapeutic colouring in all these little guys.

measurements

  • Early Espresso A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Subtles Designers Series Paper – Early Espresso – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Whisper White 14.35cm x 10cm

Mosaic Mood Card Share – Stampin’ Up!

The Mosaic Mood designer series paper (DSP) is from the annual catalogue. I’ve used this on a number of projects last year and thought it was time for a revival. I’ve used both sides of one sheet to make this simple Mosaic Mood card. I love the sentiment as well. It is so beautiful.

Mosaic Mood Card Share - Stampin' Up!
Mosaic Mood Card Share – Stampin’ Up!

The Mosaic Mood DSP has an embossed texture to mimic the tiles of a mosaic. The base colour is Mint Macaron which is a colour I hardly ever use but I think it actually works well with the Terracotta Tile in the DSP.

This is another card that is very simple and quick to make. I used the In Colour faceted dots as a cute accent to the sentiment. I’ve never used these even though I’ve had them since last year. I want to use them, so use them I did. I am determined to use what I have rather than it just sitting in my stash forever.

measurements

  • Mint Macaron A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Mosaic Mood DSP – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Mosaic Mood DSP – 7cm x 4cm
  • Soft Suede Card – 7.5cm x 7.5cm
  • Whisper White Card – 7cm x 7cm
  • Mint Macaron Card – 8cm x 5cm

Timeless Tulips – Spotlighting – Stampin’ Up!

As followers of my blog will know, my favourite flowers are Tulips. I simply adore them. When I saw this the Timeless Tulips stamp set and matching punch I knew I had to have them.

Timeless Tulips - Spotlighting - Stampin' Up!
Timeless Tulips – Spotlighting – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve kept the colours very simple with just red and white. I love the contrast between real red and whisper white. I spotlighted the actual tulip flower in red with a black stem to highlight this.

Tulips do signify the start of Spring and warm weather to me. They are beautiful blooms even when they are dying and the petals fall open like orchids.

I felt the white background was a little bland and so I ran it the through the Basket Weave embossing folder to give it some subtle texture. I’ve not been using my embossing folder for ages so I decided I must start using them more as well.

measurements

  • Real Red A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm
