A Soft Vintage Card Using Gallery Blooms

If you love a soft, time-worn look on your handmade cards, you’re going to adore today’s project. This vintage-style card utilises the beautiful Gallery Blooms stamp set, focusing on layered texture, gentle ink blending, and distressed details to achieve an elegant, aged finish.

The overall design is simple, but the combination of techniques really brings this card to life, making it perfect for a wide range of occasions.

Creating the Vintage Background

For the card front, I stamped directly onto the Beautiful Gallery DSP, which already has a wonderful artistic feel. To enhance the vintage look, I ink blended the DSP, keeping the colour darker at the edges. This gives the card a vignette feel while keeping the focus on the main image.

To take the vintage effect even further, I distressed the edges of the DSP. This small step makes such a difference and really adds to the aged, well-loved appearance of the card.

Focal Image with Aged Detail

The floral image from Gallery Blooms is the star of this card. I stamped it onto Basic Beige cardstock and then carefully ink blended over the image to match the background tones. This ties everything together beautifully and keeps a cohesive design.

Layering the focal image onto the card front adds dimension without overwhelming the soft, vintage feel. It’s a great technique if you want impact while still keeping things subtle and elegant.

Measurements

  • Pecan Pie Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Basic Beige Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces
  • Gallery Blooms designer series paper – 13.85cm X 9.5cm.

Finishing Touches

The sentiment comes from the Endless Love stamp set and works perfectly with this design. Its simple style complements the vintage look without distracting from the floral image.

Every element of this card has been chosen to enhance that aged, gallery-inspired aesthetic, making it a timeless design that can be adapted for many occasions.

A Cheerful Christmas Scene

For this card, I wanted to capture the fun and whimsy of Christmas, so I reached for Santa, his trusty elf, and a friendly snowman. These images work beautifully together to create a light-hearted festive scene that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Colouring with Stampin’ Blends

The images are all coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. They’re one of my favourite tools because they make shading and blending so simple. It’s an easy way to bring stamped images to life, and the process of colouring is wonderfully relaxing. In fact, this is one of those projects where you can sit back with a cuppa, enjoy the creative flow, and forget about the busyness of the season for a while.

Video Tutorial Included

If you’d like to follow along step by step, I’ve recorded a video tutorial explaining the colouring techniques I used. Whether you’re new to alcohol markers or simply want some inspiration, the video will help you create your own fun and festive characters with ease.

Just a Note Bundle – Easy and Fun Card. – With you in Mind. Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you’re looking for a quick and creative way to make cards with a playful twist, the Just a Note Bundle is perfect! These cards are easy to put together and so much fun to make. Today, I’ve combined three stamp sets – With You In Mind, Just a Note and Elements of Text – to create a notebook-inspired design that is simple yet eye-catching.

Notebook Effect with Stamping and Dies

To achieve the torn notebook paper look, I stamped on Basic Beige cardstock using the Just a Note stamp set and Basic Beige ink. This creates a subtle lined effect that resembles a sheet of notepaper. The coordinating dies take it one step further with the torn-edge detail, making it look like it’s been ripped from a notebook.

Colour Inspiration

I made two variations of this card to show how easy it is to change the feel by simply switching the colours. One version uses Blueberry Bushell paired with a bold blue patterned background, while the other card features Strawberry Slush with a softer pink design. Both give a fresh and fun look, perfect for any occasion.

Finishing Touches

The finishing detail is the little gold clip, die cut from the Just a Note dies using Gold Foil Sheets. It adds a polished touch to the design and makes the notepaper look as if it’s held in place. A few tiny gold accents complete the look, tying everything together beautifully.

These cards are quick to make and are perfect for sending a cheerful thank you, birthday wish, or just a note to brighten someone’s day.

Little Red Tractor – Cute Birthday Card – Easy Tutorial – Tractor & Co – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you love farmyard charm and cheerful colours, today’s card is bound to make you smile! This adorable birthday card features the Tractor and Co stamp and die set—such a fun and playful set to work with. Whether you’re crafting for kids, country lovers, or just want to brighten someone’s day, this design is a real standout.

Farmyard Fun on a Card!

The star of the show is, of course, the little red tractor. I’ve paired it with a matching trailer stacked high with golden hay and rows of sweetcorn, all stamped and die-cut for added dimension. The little chicken perched on top adds a touch of whimsy that really pulls the whole scene together. I love how the layering gives the card depth and movement—it almost looks like it’s ready to roll off the page!

The background is softly ink-blended to create a soft grassy field fading into the sky, which helps all the elements pop while keeping the design light and fresh.

Greetings That Say It All

The sentiment comes from the Greetings for All ephemera pack. I love the bold, crisp finish it gives to the design—it’s the perfect finishing touch for a fun birthday card like this one.

Make It Your Own

While I went with a red tractor for this version, I’ve also created a second card using a green tractor—and it’s just as delightful! You can easily personalise your card with different colour combinations, seasonal elements, or even add a custom name or age to make it extra special.

Looking for a quick but eye-catching handmade birthday card? This bold and beautiful card uses the Thankful Garden stamp, stencil, and die bundle from Stampin’ Up!, and it’s perfect for crafters of all levels. Bold Birthday Card. Easy Tutorial. Thankful Garden Bundle – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

Step-by-Step Tutorial

1. Create the Background

The background of this card is made super vibrant with a panel from the Full of Life DSP. The bold, radiant lines bring instant energy and dimension to the card without any extra effort. Simply trim to size and adhere to a white card base.

2. Stencil the Floral Image

Next, grab your Thankful Garden stencil set and stamp the floral image in a light waterproof ink. Using blending brushes, add color through the coordinating layering stencils. This makes coloring the image fun and foolproof. I used cheerful yellows for the flowers and fresh greens for the leaves.

Tip: Use a light touch when blending for a soft gradient, or layer more ink for extra vibrancy.

3. Die Cut & Frame It

Once your floral image is coloured, cut it out using the coordinating dies. I layered the flowers on a textured frame die-cut from white cardstock to give the design some depth and structure.

4. Add the Sentiment

The sentiment “It’s Your Birthday” is from the Saying Something Ephemera Pack—already pre-cut and ready to go! I popped it up on foam tape for dimension.

5. Finishing Touches

To finish the card, I added a few sparkly embellishments for a little extra birthday shine.

Measurements

  • Thick White Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Full of Life designer series paper (DSP) – 14.35cm X 10cm.

Ink Blending Tips for a Seamless Background

I used ink blending for this card to create a soft, seamless background. Here’s my top tip:
Take your time and use a light hand. It’s easier to build up the colour gradually than to remove it if it gets too dark.

I typically use small blending brushes for precision, but any size works—just layer the colour until you achieve the look you want.

I love layering stencils. They are so easy to use. I’ve shown how to use them many times in videos, however, I still get new people unsure of how to use them. Therefore I decided to do a new tutorial on how to use these wonderful products.

Stampin’ Up!’s layering stencils are numbered making it easy to know what order to use them. Another tip is to always start with your lightest colour and increase the colour intensity. Stick to colours that are next to each other in the colour wheel. Have you seen the fabulous colour wheel from Stampin’ Up!? Check it out here. It is great for choosing the colours for a card or scrapbook page.

I love how this card turned out. These are meant to be amaryllis flowers but I think they could pass for poinsettia ones as well. What do you think? These flowers were created using the Artful Amaryllis dies. I used Real Red and Old Olive cardstock which I inked to give more variation in colour.
