I love the bright and vibrant colours of this card. I’ve used Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry to create this gorgeous blended background. They work well together, do you agree? The emboss resist technique makes this focal image pop.

This card has a woodland almost autumnal feel to it. I love these toadstools. They bring a pop of colour to an otherwise very neutral colour palette. I stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and distressed the image using Crumb Cake ink. The toadstools are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol markers, my favourite colouring medium.

I love rainbow cards. Do you? They are bright, happy and fun. What is not to love? I made this rainbow by ink blending. The white butterflies from the Sketched Butterflies set pop against this colourful background.

My rainbow colours are Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Balmy Blue and Gorgeous Grape. I found they blended easily into each other. What colours would you use?

Don’t these cupcakes look delicious? They are from the Pocket Thoughts stamp set and are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I created the background with various techniques using the colours Coastal Cabana and Pool Party. These colours make the cupcakes really pop from the background. I love butterflies and was so happy to see this new butterfly set in the catalogue. These gorgeous butterflies are watercoloured using the Stampin’ Up! ink pads. If you are going to watercolour, always remember to use suitable paper. I have used Fluid 100 watercolour paper here. Basic White won’t stand up to water as well as Fluid 100 and you are liable to get pilling of your paper.

One trick I employed here is to black heat emboss my images before I watercoloured them. This helps to keep the colour in the lines and stop it flowing everywhere.

This card was made using the emboss resist technique. I heat-embossed a piece of white cardstock with clear embossing powder. Then, a layer of ink was applied over the top using blending brushes. The embossed areas will resist the ink leaving this lovely effect.

I have made this card in two different colour ways. The above is Coastal Cabana, Pool Pary and Lost Lagoon, below is Berry Burst and Bubble Bath. Which version do you prefer? Let me know in the comments below.

I’ve used this set previously to make a few cards. I decided to step it up with this card and use heat embossing alongside the ink blending. All the stamping is heat embossed with silver embossing powder. It will resist the ink blending, leaving the silver metallic lines.

I’ve coloured this card using the matching stencils. This gives these florals this lovely shading.
