I love making this type of gift box, they are so different from your normal ones. They are really easy to make and stay closed with no extra closure or adhesive needed. Imagine receiving this at Christmas filled with homemade fudge. Yummy!!

How to Make a Perfect Hexagon-Shaped Box – Happy Forest Friends – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

I’m so happy with how this turned out. The base is reinforced and it is so easy to put together. We made this in a recent card club and it was a blast. I host a monthly card club in my Facebook group. It’s a night of great crafting for all.

I knew I wanted my hexagon to have 2″ sides and went online to find a template for such a hexagon. I then printed it off and cut it. This template was used to make the base of the box. The template was for a 4″ wide hexagon and can be found here.

Measurements

Old Olive Cardstock 6 1/2″ X 5 3/4″ X 2 pieces. Scored
- On the longer side at 2″, 4″ & 6″
- On the shorter side at 2″, 4″ & 5 1/4″

I made this cute little box in two colour ways. Above is Orchid Oasis and below is Rich Razzleberry. Which do you prefer? We made the Rich Razzleberry one in a recent card club. I host a monthly virtual card club in my Facebook Group each month.

This box holds four tealights and opens like a pizza box. It is super easy to make. I used the gorgeous Wonderful World designer series paper that I got as a freebie during Sale-a-bration. During Sale-a-bration you can choose a free item for each qualifying order.

It has a velcro closure though you could of course add a magnet closure instead. I would advise you to make a template as I’ve done below before you make the box as it really helps to make sure you don’t make a mistake.

One tip I will give you in making this box is to try to be as accurate as possible in your scoring and cutting. It will save you hassle later. on.

This is a great size box. It’s a good size and measures 6″ X 6″. This is perfect for a special gift. I think it would be lovely to gift a pretty scarf or even a mini photo album.
