The paper used here is Zoo Crew. On one side it has lots of little critters but on the other side of the paper are all these fabulous black and white designs. They are perfect for card backgrounds.

I’ve used the countryside corners dies to create this fun tuck spot with a little tag for a secret message.

I love to watercolour. It is so soothing. The effect is gorgeous as well. The watercolour pencils are a great way to start as they give you control. Watercolour painting is very forgiving so why not give it a try?

I’ve used shimmery white cardstock here. You could use Fluid 100 watercolour paper but don’t use basic white as the paper is not strong enough to cope with all the water. Right paper for the job and you are halfway there already.

The designer series paper is “True Love”. It is a black and white design, which allows you to colour it in or leave it as it is. The choice is yours. I’ve coloured the flowers in here using the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker. As you know I love colouring in and this was great fun for me. One world of caution though, when you first colour you will see the pattern from the reverse side emerge but it disappears again when the colour dries.

Aren’t these little baskets cute? This wasn’t my idea, I found it on good old Pinterest and put my own spin on it. The paper is the super gorgeous Flowers for Every Season which I love. I want to make the most of this paper before it retires at the end of April. There is no stamping as the paper is so busy but you can of course add a stamped tag if you so wish.

measurements

  • Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 6″ X 6″ scored at 2″ on all sides.

Perfect Parcel Die Gift Box – Stampin’ Up!

I have this little box to share with you today using the Perfect Parcel dies from Stampin’ Up! This die comes as a bundle with the Parcels and Petals stamp set which I have used here too.

Perfect Parcel Die Gift Box
Perfect Parcel Die Gift Box

This box is made from two of my favourite colours, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. I have used my scraps of Bermuda Bay to make the sleeve for the box.

I won’t deny that this box can be a little fiddly to put together but once you get the hang of it, it’s dead easy. The stamping is done before the box is put together. This gives some added interest where there are no other elements.

I enjoy making gift packaging for little gifts. They are a great way to make a simple gift look a million dollars.

Magnolia Bookmark Tutorial

I have a bookmark to share with you today that I made using both Magnolia stamps sets from Stampin’ Up! I love this magnolia bookmark as it is involves colouring in which I find therapeutic. Floral stamp sets are some of my favourite ones and I have used these stamps many times already.

Magnolia Bookmark Tutorial using stamp sets from Stampin' Up!
Magnolia Bookmark Tutorial using stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!

I used the blends to colour in this bookmark. The blends are alcohol markers from Stampin’ Up! and they really do blend beautifully. The colouring feels seamless with no lines or blotches. I have never managed very well with alcohol markers from other companies but the blends are a dream.

The Magnolia Blooms and Goodmorning Magnolia are all part of a huge suite of products called Magnolia Lane. The suite includes matching dies, embossing folder, designer series paper (DSP) and lots more.

I have kept the colour palette limited to Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow. This gives an elegant look without risking colours clashing.

Simple and Quick Greetings Card

I have a simple and quick card tutorial for you today. This card is made using the Follow your Art designer series paper (DSP) It is a great card as without the bling it can easily double for a man’s card as well.

Simple and quick card for that special someone.
Simple and Cute card for that special someone.

I simply adore the Follow your Art DSP. It is beyond gorgeous. It is beyond versatile. A good example is the above pattern, which features brayers but they could equally be paint rollers.

I think sometimes we make cards that are too complex. We put a lot of time and love into our projects and unfortunately that is not always appreciated. I think there are times when a simple card can be just as beautiful and effective as one that took hours to make.

As you can see this card is super quick to make, but still has that wow element to it. The stitched nested label dies give a lovely edge detail to the foil sheet. It almost looks like little rivets.

Measurements

  • Balmy Blue A6 card base
  • Follow Your Art DSP – 14.35 x 10 cm.

As per normal there is tutorial video and supply list below.

Gift Bag to hold a tea bag and yummy chocolate

I love making little bags like this to give small gifts. I think we all need a little gift sometimes to remind us that we are loved and that people around us do care about us.

The rose and butterfly pattern on this paper is gorgeous. I have a beautiful red rose that is now in flower outside my front door and it gives me great pleasure every time i see it. I do love flowers and butterflies and like a lot of crafters I am a sucker for stamp set or paper that is floral in nature.

Measurements

  • Mint Macaroon Cardstock – 8.5 inches x 7.5 inches
  • Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper – 12cm x 7cm x 2
  • Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper – 3.5cm x 7cm x 1

Initially when I saw the Mosaic Mood DSP in the catalogue I wasn’t too impressed with it but the more I use it the more I fall in love with it. I love the fact the mosaic has an embossed feel to it and the patterns are so versatile and beautiful. Here is the link to another project using this lovely paper.

I do love flowers but I have to say that I also enjoy growing food that I can eat. I’ve planted out some carrots, tomatoes and lettuce today and hope to be enjoying home grow salads soon.

I hope you have a lovely day, until next time Enjoy Being Creative!!

Hello,

I hope everyone is having a wonderful bank holiday weekend. We were so lucky to have beautiful sun her last week and the garden is looking great.
