I love all the new blues that have been introduced to our colour families. They are so pretty. I decided to compare some of them here in this card. I’ve repeatedly stamped the same sentiment in different colours. It really works well.

The stamp set is a firm favourite of mine, Biggest Wish. I’m so happy that is carried over from last year’s catalogue to this one. I would be lost without it.

The Lazy Days stamp set screams long hot summer days to me. It was, for this reason, I was in two minds about buying it but then I thought some more. You can use this set in many different ways. It could even be used for a Christmas card with the rocking chair next to a tree and a pile of presents. Once I could see the versatility of the set it as in my basket.

My favourite image in this set is the rocking chair. My Granny used to have two rocking chairs in the lounge and now I have them. As a child, I used to love rocking in the chair and so rocking chairs hold a special place in my heart.

How to Off-Set Stencils to Create a Card – Loveliest Layers Masks – Biggest Wish – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – UK

I love stencils and have an extensive collection. Do I use them enough? Of course not, like most crafters I have stuff I love to have but don’t use. I realised the other day that I haven’t used these stencils and they have been in my stash for nearly a year. I don’t want them to retire and I never used them.

The stencil I used today has these little stripes that repeat. It is perfect for this technique of off-setting the stencil. I’ve used a mixture of colours that I have blended together.

As I can write this in Lincoln the wind is blowing its guts out. I was thinking of any little birds and thinking the poor mites would be blown away if they weren’t careful.

This card has a lovely spring feel to it. Baby birds are one of the quintessential marks of spring as are new fresh green leaves. This card combines both of these.

This is a fun way to use your embossing folders as well as a great way to use up scraps. I stuck down the little squares of the designer series paper (DSP) first. The whole panel was then run through my die-cutting machine with the Gingham embossing folder.

This technique makes the DSP look as if it is embedded in the background. Such fun and has a very different look.

I love how bright and fun this card is. We made this in a recent card club. The paper is Dandy Designs. It’s a freebie during Sale-a-bration (SAB). During SAB for every qualifying purchase, you can choose a freebie from the SAB catalogue. This was one of my freebies and I love it. There are 48 sheets of 12″ X 12″ paper in the pack. So many pretty designs and colours.

I love the clean and simple look of this card. It’s super easy and quick to make. The basic white piece of card is embossed using the Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder to give a little added interest in the background. The picture above uses Cajun Craze as the main colour where as the one below is Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry. Which do you prefer?

How Do I Heat Emboss? Simple Tips Tutorial – Focus Friday – Biggest Wish – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

During the month of October Focus Friday is going to be looking at Heat Embossing. In this post, we are learning the basics of heat embossing. Heat embossing is a very easy technique that always gives a wow effect to your card. It really feels like magic watching the dull powder, turn glossy and shiny.

There are a number of tips I want to give you. Remember practice makes perfect. You will need to use a “sticky” ink like Versamark to heat emboss. You need very little powder to achieve a great effect. I always use an embossing buddy on my paper before I start to get rid of any static. This means the embossing powder will only stick where there is ink. Lastly, let your heat tool heat up for 30 seconds away from your card. This means it will be hot already and the powder will take less time to melt. This reduces the chance of any powder blowing away.

This is one of my go to style of cards. It’s a great way to stretch your designer series paper (DSP). I’ve used half a sheet of 6″ X 6″ paper. Sometimes I place the paper in the middle of the card and sometimes more to one side or the other.

The focal image is from Amazing Year. Such a beautiful simple bunch of flowers. They are coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. Below is another way. Which do you prefer?

This is such an elegant card. I’ve used no colour only Basic Black, Basic Grey and Basic White. This post is a Focus Friday post. During the month of September, we have been focusing on dies every Friday. I’ve made dies the total focus of this card. The stamping is just for the simple sentiment.

These florals are actually the poppies from Poppy Moments. I’ve used these dies in many different ways and will link some of them below.
