Lovely Lipstick Floral Thank You Card – Stampin’ Up!

Spring has definitely sprung and I have a thank you card to share with you today in the bright Lovely Lipstick pink. Quite a few of the products used in this card are retiring on the 2nd of June. I want to use up my stocks so that they don’t sit in my stash once I buy all the new goodies from the new catalogue.

This card uses Lovely Lipstick (Pink) and Call Me Clover (Green). They are part of the 2018 – 2020 in-colours which also include Blueberry Bushel, Grapefruit Grove and Pineapple Punch. These colours are sadly retiring on 2nd June. I want to make as much use of them as I can before we wave goodbye to them.

Flowers and nature make me happy. I am selfish happily to hear that B&Q are opening again in Lincoln. I want to buy some busy lizzies and of course my vegetable plants. Each year we grow lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and lots of herbs.

I’ve stamped here using the Stampin’ Write markers rather than the ink pads. This allows me to use more than one colour on each stamp. It is an old technique but a good one.

I’ve used the Happiness Blooms enamel dots to give some dimension to the card on the little dots on the plants. I want to use up my enamel dots as they are retiring too with the 2018-2020 in-colours.

Animal Outing – Kangaroo Card – Stampin’ Up!

This fun card features the Animal Outing stamp set. I am sad to say that this set and the matching dies are retiring on 2nd June 2020. This is the first time I’ve used this set and I am so glad I have before it retires.

As you may know, my mother’s family are South African. Some of the family though have left SA to go to Australia. This card reminds me of them as well as a dear school friend who is living in Sydney. I’ve coloured the image in using the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers as well as the colour lifter. It turned out well I think.

I am trying to use up my stock before it retires. The green here is Call me Clover and the pink is Lovely Lipstick. These are both part of the outgoing 2018 -2020 in colours. If you love these as much as I do them I would urge you to stock up on supplies now.

I hope you are all doing well. Unfortunately, I am still struggling a little. I am determined to keep on posting on my blog though every week. What are you doing to keep your spirits up? Crafting is good for me, in particular colouring and painting. I can lose myself in the movement of colours on the paper and they way they mix.

More and More Thank Yous – Ornate Thanks

I have another thank you card to share with you today. I seem to be making more and more thank yous at the moment. This card uses the Ornate Thanks stamp set. I love the big & bold sentiments.

The designer series paper (DSP) is called Perennial Essence. I loved this paper when it came out and I have only used it ONCE!! Bad me!! I’ve used it again today and I still love it. It is so pretty and floral. I’ve cut a strip into the three smaller strips so that it looks like you are seeing the scene through a window.

The pinks in the DSP are Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink and I used these again in the cardstock and ink so that the card feels harmonious.

I am glad that we seemed to be blessed with good weather. It is so much more pleasant to look at a sunny garden that a dreary wet one. In the UK we have now been on “lockdown” 5 weeks and it is becoming, unfortunately, more normal. We are coping ok though I do find it hard not being to drive to the next village for a walk in the fields. I am so grateful that I have crafting to keep me busy and sane in the mean time.

Ornate Thanks Card – Stampin’ Up!

This card features the Ornate thanks stamp set to make my ornate thanks card. The Ornate Garden suite of products has just been released. It will be in the new catalogue that launches in June but you can buy this suite early which I think is a special treat in the current circumstances.

This card is totally heat embossed using white embossing powder. I can you I made an absolute mess with the powder when I made this. There was powder everywhere. I didn’t manage to get into the pot very well. There was a silver lining as it meant I cleared my whole desk and gave it a good clean for the first time in longer than I care to admit.

I want to try and make some more thank you cards in the next few weeks. I am going to give this to staff in Waitrose and Tesco which are the two supermarkets I use the most. There are a couple of staff I know as they are always at the self-scan area. I use the scan and shop as I don’t want to lift the shopping any more than I have to. I have a repetitive strain injury in one arm and a frozen shoulder on the other. A thank you card would be nice for my postie too.

Monochromatic – Thank you Card – A Little Lace

I have this gorgeous monochromatic thank you card to share with you today. This colour uses one of my favourite colours, Bermuda Bay. I love the rich vibrancy of this colour against the whisper white. It works well. What do you think?

A Little Lace is a gorgeous stamp set. I’ve used it before to stamp my own patterned paper to make a bag. I’ll link the video below. This is a great set as it contains sentiments and this lovely lace stamp. Last time I used Melon Mambo and it looked equally

Everything can do with some bling at times. I’ve used the clear faceted gems in the flower centres for some sparkle. They really lift the card and make it come alive.

I will admit that in the last week I feel as I’ve lost my mojo. I am struggling with words to write this blog. Is anyone else feeling the same, I have all the time in the world to craft but just don’t feel like it. Typical!!

This card uses an old technique. I don’t know what is called. I stamped all three white layers together and then separated them so that pattern continues across all the pieces.

Roar – Dinosaur Card – Stampin’ Up!

Roar goes the Dinosaur. I love these brightly coloured dinosaurs in the Dino Roar designer series paper (DSP). They are perfect for children’s cards.

I really enjoyed making this card. These dinosaurs are actually die cut from the Dino Roar DSP. The dies match not only the dinosaur stamps but also the images on the DSP making them super versatile. They are very easy to line up and cut out and there are separate dies for the scales though I just fussy cut them out.

I used the complimentary enamel shapes as my embellishments and for the scales of the lovely lipstick coloured dinosaur. I haven’t got a clue what species each of these dinosaurs are. They are just pink or blues ones to me.

I think the sentiment is so cute and matches all these little friends on the card perfectly. The dinosaur standing on his friend’s nose was a mistake but I liked it so kept it.

Bright and Fun Card – So Sentimental – Stampin’ Up!

I have this bright and fun card to share you today. Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove are the two colours here. I can unequivocally state these are not my favourite colours at all. I find each colour on its own a bit too much so I came up with this idea and I think it works well. What do you think?

The pop of black around the sentiment and the large sentiment itself, I think really help to pull the whole card together. What pleased me the most though, was that I got to use up some of my Happiness Blooms enamel dots in the matching colours.

If you hold card classes I think this is also a great idea. You don’t have to have enough of each paper to make a full card, you can mix and match and everyone still can make the same style card.

Pink Cat Card – Nine Lives – Stampin’ Up!

I am calling this my Pink Cat Card. The pink is Melon Mambo which is one of my favourite pink colour. In this card, it is combined with cats which I adore.

I love cats and dogs but mostly cats. I have been through several periods of poor mental health and still suffer from anxiety. Cats are a great source of comfort for me. I feel safe and accepted by them. When I saw this set, therefore, I knew it was one for me.

Nine Lives is a two-step stamp set. You can stamp the cat as an outline, with patches or with stripes. The Stampartus comes into its own for stamps like these. The cat does have a matching punch but I’ve used it here.

Under my Umbrella – Stampin’ Blends Markers

I have this cute, bright and sunny card to share with you today. I knew I wanted to get “Under My Umbrella” the minute I saw it in the catalogue. The flowers growing in the wellies are just so dinky.

I debated what colours to use in this card and eventually went for so saffron, balmy blue, highland heather and old olive. I think they make the card look like a summer’s day.

Everything is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I love the seamless colouring and easy shading of the Stampin’ Blends. What is your favourite colouring medium? I do love watercolouring but the Blends are great for quick and easy colouring too.

Rainbow Card – Use up your Scraps – Stampin’ Up!

I love this rainbow card. I’ve used up strips of cardstock that I had in my scrap pile and just added a sentiment and some rhinestones. I love how it came out, so bright and bold. A ray of sunshine to make me smile on this gloomy cloudy days.

The colours I’ve used here are:

The sentiment is from the set So Sentimental. I love these big and eye-catching sentiments. It pairs beautifully with the matching Stitched so Sweetly Dies.
