I made this cute card to send to a friend who just went into hospital now in April when I’m writing this. I will have this to her by the time this goes live and wanted to share it with you.

This is the Hand-Penned suite of products from Stampin’ Up! and it is new in the new annual catalogue. If you don’t have a copy of the catalogue and want one, then just click here to request one. This suite has a glorious stamp set, matching dies and of course pretty paper. I’ve used them all on this card. It is a two-step stamp set which the Stamparatus makes a doddle to use.

I love the new colour Pale Papaya. In South Africa where my mother’s family reside we call papaya, pawpaw so you will most probably hear me refer to it like that from now on.

Measurements

  • Garden Green A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Hand Penned Designer Series Paper – (DSP) – 14.35cm X 10cm

This is a pretty card for a very sad occasion. My mother unfortunately had the need to send a sympathy card recently and this is what I came up with for her to send.

It uses the pretty Hand-Penned designer series paper (DSP) that is in the new catalogue. It has this lovely and light feel to it. Of course, there are matching stamps and dies in the suite. I love the sketchy watercolour feel. The sentiment is from an old favourite of mine “Peaceful Moments”. I am so glad it didn’t retire in May as I use it all the time. If you want to request a new catalogue just click here.

Simple “Thinking of You” Card Tutorial – Rooted in Nature – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I’m really happy with how this card turned out. It’s so simple but effective. The sentiment comes from the set “Rooted in Nature”. This is set that replaced our much loved but now retired “Lovely as a Tree” The little flowers in the corner are using the Small Bloom punch. To give it texture I used my stylus and piercing foam mat.

This card was also part of a colour challenge. The colours to be used were Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana & Terracotta Tile. I think they work well, don’t you?

I normally struggle with shaker cards but this one was super easy to make and I was over the moon with how it turned out. How pretty is this card? These shaker mason jar domes are seriously cute. I’m definitely buying a few more packs to hoard. Everything is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. Colouring in is so therapeutic. It keeps me out of mischief for hours!!

The stamp set is Jars of Love. It comes with many different bunches of flowers and even the stems to stamp in the jar. I’ve fussy cut the flowers out and of course there is a matching mason jar punch.

Make a Get Well Soon Card – Purple Tulips – Timeless Tulips – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

As you may know, tulips are my favourite flower. I love all the colours and various forms, even when they are going over and the petals open out, they look gorgeous. This stamp set is Timeless Tulips. It has a matching punch making it super easy to use. I have stamped some images flat and then stamped punched out others to give the card added interest and dimension.

I am really looking forward to the flower this Spring. The crocuses and some daffodils are just starting to flower and it really makes my heart sing. It gives me hope that in all this darkness of winter there is light.

Recently, sadly I needed to make a sympathy card. I decided to share this with you in case you are in the same situation. I was unsure how to go about designing such a card, so I went for simple and easy. The stamp set is actually one I just acquired during Sale-a-bration. I didn’t think I would use it, but there you go. The designer series paper (DSP) is Paper Blooms which is absolutely gorgeous. It gives the perfect backdrop to the sentiment.

The colours here are Gorgeous Grape and Purple Posy. Don’t they go well together? I love it. I wish I had tried this combination earlier. This bag is very easy to make and looks so pretty. The sentiment is from one of my favourite sets, “So Sentimental”. The crinkled seam binding just sets it off lovely.

I love these layered flower sets. This one is called Art Gallery. I’m writing this blog a couple of days before Christmas. A friend of my mothers has gone into hospital for a knee replacement operation. I made this card to send to her and I thought I would share it with you. The epoxy clear gems in the centre of the flowers make the card pop and give it dimension.

Try Something New -Embossed Resist Technique

Try Something New – Embossed Resist Technique – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I felt like trying something new in my cardmaking. I have done the embossed resist technique a few times before but not for a long time.

Try Something New - Embossed Resist Technique
Try Something New – Embossed Resist Technique

Sponging ink on to my cardstock have always been a technique I struggled with. The sponge squeaks and it comes out super blotchy. I struggle to blend the colours. I was watching various videos on YouTube and I saw someone use these oval make up blending brushes. They work great!! I’m so chuffed.

I’ve embossed the background with clear embossing powder and the Stacked Stone background stamp set. When you sponge the ink, it will only take where there is no embossing. The clear embossed sections will resist the ink.

World of Good Adventure Card - Stampin' Up!
World of Good Adventure Card – Stampin’ Up!

The supplies used in this card are from a suite of products. The stamp set and matching dies coordinate perfectly with the paper, embossing folder and ribbon. I love blue, it’s my favourite colour. The colour here is Misty Moonlight which I love as it’s not as deep as Night of Navy. There are two globe images in the die and stamp set, one features the Americas and the other Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. I love that between the two, all the continents are covered.
