The colours here are Gorgeous Grape and Purple Posy. Don’t they go well together? I love it. I wish I had tried this combination earlier. This bag is very easy to make and looks so pretty. The sentiment is from one of my favourite sets, “So Sentimental”. The crinkled seam binding just sets it off lovely.

I love these layered flower sets. This one is called Art Gallery. I’m writing this blog a couple of days before Christmas. A friend of my mothers has gone into hospital for a knee replacement operation. I made this card to send to her and I thought I would share it with you. The epoxy clear gems in the centre of the flowers make the card pop and give it dimension.

Try Something New -Embossed Resist Technique

Try Something New – Embossed Resist Technique – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I felt like trying something new in my cardmaking. I have done the embossed resist technique a few times before but not for a long time.

Try Something New - Embossed Resist Technique
Try Something New – Embossed Resist Technique

Sponging ink on to my cardstock have always been a technique I struggled with. The sponge squeaks and it comes out super blotchy. I struggle to blend the colours. I was watching various videos on YouTube and I saw someone use these oval make up blending brushes. They work great!! I’m so chuffed.

I’ve embossed the background with clear embossing powder and the Stacked Stone background stamp set. When you sponge the ink, it will only take where there is no embossing. The clear embossed sections will resist the ink.

World of Good Adventure Card - Stampin' Up!
World of Good Adventure Card – Stampin’ Up!

The supplies used in this card are from a suite of products. The stamp set and matching dies coordinate perfectly with the paper, embossing folder and ribbon. I love blue, it’s my favourite colour. The colour here is Misty Moonlight which I love as it’s not as deep as Night of Navy. There are two globe images in the die and stamp set, one features the Americas and the other Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. I love that between the two, all the continents are covered.

Fantastic Mrs Fox and Cub – Wildly Happy

I have this gorgeous fox card to share with you. As a child I loved the book “Fantastic Mr Fox” so this is my fantastic Mrs Fox and her cub.

Fantastic Mrs Fox and Cub – Wildly Happy

I love this little fox image. I stamped her memento black ink so that I could colour her in with the Stampin Blend alcohol markers. Colouring in is so therapeutic don’t you think? I can sit for hours just playing with colour. It is why I love painting so much.

The colour used here is Cajun Craze. I don’t think I’ve used this colour for a card before. Bad me!! It is a great colour and would be fabulous for autumnal cards. This little fox is from the Wildly Happy stamp set. I was so glad it carried over as it has a cute image of two little elephants. As someone of you may know my mother is from South Africa and so I’ve been to the game parks and seen them up close and personal.

This three tone purple ribbon is lovely. I never used it when it first came out but I’ve changed that now. Do you like it? This box is very easy to make. I made a template and once you have a template you can make as many as you like. You can store them flat and just seal up the base when you want to use them. Here is the template.

I love little bags and boxes. They are perfect to give small gifts to special someones. It is so nice to give little gifts to people when they least expect it. Bringing a smile to someone’s face is one of the greatest gifts you can give.

Tearing Effect – Field of Flowers – Stampin’ Up!

I have a fun technique to share with you in this card. This using the tearing effect to create these ruffled edges that frame the focal image.

Tearing Effect - Field of Flowers - Stampin' Up!
Tearing Effect – Field of Flowers – Stampin’ Up!

This image is all one stamp. I’ve stamped in it Mossy Meadow, the same colour as the cardstock. I tore the cardstock and then cut everything down to the size I wanted. The ruffled edge of the Mossy Meadow looks like the rough edges of the grass. I think it works well.

The card seemed a little dull to me until I had the bright idea to add the red rhinestones. I think they bring the whole card together and give a lovely pop of colour. In my mind they are little red poppies in the grass verge.

Pink Blossoms in Bloom Card - Stampin' Up!
Pink Blossoms in Bloom Card – Stampin’ Up!

This card is so happy and it is perfect to cheer up someone who is feeling under the weather. I have a cousin back in South Africa who has just had a spinal fusion operation. I wish I could send her this card. Unfortunately, the postal system back home is not the best so I have to send it to her virtually.

The stamp set is Blossoms in Bloom. I’ve stamped in two colours of pink, Petal Pink and Melon Mambo. I’ve off set the stamping to create this shadow effect. This is really easy to do with the Stamparatus stamping platform.

Jar of Sunshine – Jar of Flowers – Stampin’ Up!

I have another fabulous floral card to share with you today. This card to me is jar of sunshine. It actually features the jar of flowers stamp set and matching punch from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

Jar of Sunshine - Jar of Flowers - Stampin' Up!
Jar of Sunshine – Jar of Flowers – Stampin’ Up!

This lovely yellow is Bumble Bee and is one of the new 2020 -2022 in-colours. I love it! It is so bright and happy. The ribbon that the jar is sitting on is another new in-colour Cinamon Cider.

I’ve coloured in the images with the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. The jar is punched out and yes, I fussy cut out the flowers. I love all the bright yellow on this card but you can change up the colours to suit your fancy. There are a variety of bunches of flowers in the stamp set that you can choose and two sizes of mason jar.

Poppy Moments – Die Cut Card – Stampin’ Up!

I absolutely love how this card turned out using the Poppy Moments set of dies. The dies allow you to cut out both the solid image and the highlights allowing you to create these realistic flowers and leaves.

Poppy Moments - Die Cut Card - Stampin' Up!
Poppy Moments – Die Cut Card – Stampin’ Up!

In the UK, red poppies are a symbol of remembrance. I think personally they are also a symbol of the fact the life goes on. I love seeing the poppies in the grass verges in fields every year. The red poppies are so bold and vibrant and are a beautiful pop of colour against the green grass.

This card is perfect for someone who doesn’t like to stamp much as the die cuts do all the talking. I’ve used Real Red and the aptly named Poppy Parade for the poppies. The leaves are Old Olive and Shaded Spruce. I used Crumb Cake as the background colour as I felt white or black was too stark a contrast. The Crumb Cake is a lovely kraft neutral.

measurements

  • Early Espresso A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Crumb Cake – 14.35cm x 10cm
