I was struggling to find an idea for a little gift box so I turned to good old Pinterest. I found an idea for box like this with a curved lid but boy oh boy did I struggle with what paper, what size I wanted it to be. In the end it turned out cute and it easy to make.

The lovely designer series paper (DSP) is “Well Suited” from the mini catalogue. I love this bright Poppy Parade red and it contrasts so well with the Night of Navy in the cardstock and little flowers. The paper flowers are made using the Small Blooms punch and mimic the little flowers in the DSP.

measurements

  • Night of Navy Cardstock – 6″ X 4 1/2″ scored at 1 1/2″ on each side.
  • Well Suited DSP – 6 1/4″ X 3″ scored at 1/2″ at either end of the long side.
  • Night of Navy cardstock 3″ x 1 1/2″

I’m really happy with how this card turned out. It’s so simple but effective. The sentiment comes from the set “Rooted in Nature”. This is set that replaced our much loved but now retired “Lovely as a Tree” The little flowers in the corner are using the Small Bloom punch. To give it texture I used my stylus and piercing foam mat.

This card was also part of a colour challenge. The colours to be used were Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana & Terracotta Tile. I think they work well, don’t you?

measurements

  • Pretty Peacock A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Coastal Cabana – 14.35cm X 10cm
