I am in love with layering stencils. They make gorgeous cards and are great for those who don’t like colouring. There are 3 stencils for each of the 3 trees in the stamp set. These allow you to colour the trees for Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter. The choice is yours.

I’ve been watering the plants every few days in the garden. It is so peaceful, watching the wildlife go about their business. I love watching the butterflies flittering from flower to flower. So beautiful. This was the inspiration for this simple care. Above is a blue version of this card and below is an orange and yellow version. Which do you prefer?

There is a story behind this card. As some of you may know I was under the care of Great Ormond Street Hospital for much of my childhood, mainly as an outpatient but sometimes an inpatient as well. I had a pink Care Bear that used to come into the hospital with me. The nurses would use our bears or dolls to demonstrate to us the procedures we were having. This was the inspiration for this card.

I made this card back in May. I was watching the Chelsea Flower Show and seeing the gorgeous flowers inspired me to make this card. This card features the new Inspiring Snapdragons stamp set. I’ve kept the colours hot and vibrant. They are next to each other on the colour wheel and look next to each other.

This is a fun/fancy fold card. The front flap opens to reveal a diagonal cut card front. I struggled to get a good photo but hopefully, you can see it better in the video below.

Loveliest Tree reminds me of the very first stamp set I bought from Stampin’ Up!, Lovely as a Tree. I loved that set and I do this new one as well. It looks great against this sunset ink-blended background.

This card has no stamping, it is all die-cutting. The gorgeous paper, Flight & Airy is a freebie from Sale-a-bration (SAB). You can choose a free item from the SAB catalogue for every qualifying purchase.

The sentiment is from a favourite die set, “Wanted to Say”. I’ve used both the shadow and the outline here to ensure the sentiment pops from the busy background.

How to Make a Blended Rainbow Card – Wanted to Say – Quiet Meadow – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

I was inspired to make this card after watching a video on YouTube by Nichol Spohr. She used different products but I adapted it to what I had. I love the way it turned out.

It really isn’t difficult to achieve a seamless blended background. There are a number of tips I can give you. One is not to overload your blending brush, secondly, I tap off my brush on my grid paper before I start to blend and thirdly take your time going back and forwards between colours until you achieve something you are happy with.

This fox looks a lot redder in the photo than he does in real life. I coloured him using a water painter and Cajun Craze ink pad. You can mix colours to colour the little fox in as well. The grass is Old Olive and the sky is Balmy Blue. I love playing with colours. It’s such fun.

Isn’t this little koala the cutest? I love him just hanging out in the tree. As you may remember my maternal family are from South Africa. Some of that family have left South Africa to go to Australia. I was thinking of them as I made this card.

I coloured this koala using watercolour pencils and a blender pen. This makes for super quick and easy colouring.
