I’m back today with another Focus Friday card. During the month of June, I’m looking at different ways to use our designer series paper (DSP). Today I used scraps to create these cards. These are small strips that would otherwise go unused and stay in my stash forever.

I pulled the card together with a heat embossed sentiment from Peaceful Moments. I heat embossed the cardstock mat so that everything would match.

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. For the month of May we are looking at using designer series paper (DSP) in different ways. Today I am using the gorgeous Hugs of Happiness DSP to make lots of die cuts to use on my card. They are the focal image for this floral birthday card.

The Hugs of Happiness DSP is simply gorgeous. I absolutely love it!! I’m already planning to my a second pack. Paper-like this is so useful. You can fussy cut these florals if you want but the dies that match the stamp set also cut out the flowers in this DSP. Super useful!! It really stretches this paper and gives you a ton of die cuts.

I’m back with another Friday Focus post. In May we have been looking at using colour in our cards. Today I am using all the colours in the rainbow here. I love making rainbow cards. They are vibrant, bold and such fun. These cute little dragonflies really pop.

I couldn’t resist doodling a little with a white gel pen to add highlights to the dragonflies. The rhinestones are the perfect finishing touch.

This is a Focus Friday post. This May I have been focusing on the topic of “Colour”. This week I am looking at just using one colour to spotlight a focal image on the card. This card uses only the colour red. White and black aren’t strickly colours on the colour wheel. I’ve used the red to spotlight the poppies and really make them pop on this card.

I am back with another Friday Focus post. Today we are looking at colour theory again. I am using complementary colours today to make my focal image really pop off the background. These are the wonderful Tulip Dies that you can use to make any number of different flowers. Just play around with the elements to create a flower that you like the look of. There is no wrong way to put these together.

Complementary colours are those opposite each on the colour wheel:

  • Red & Green
  • Yellow & Purple
  • Blue & Orange

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. During the month of May, I am looking at colour in my Friday Focus creations. Today my focus is on primary colours. The primary colours on the colour wheel are red (Real Red), yellow (Daffodil Delight) and blue (Pacific Point). These are the colours of my ladybirds which are my focal image.

These colours will mix with each other and sit well together as they are the primary colours. The colours I’ve chosen are vibrant and bright and really make this card pop.

How To Make a Card with Multiple Shaker Pockets – Sweet Strawberry – Focus Friday – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin Up! Demo – UK

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. For the month of April, we have been looking at all things shaker cards. Today the focus has been on multiple shaker pockets on one card.

I used the layering circle dies to create these three windows. You could of course do any shape you wanted but I stuck to circles here. One tip is to remove the backing on the foam strips before you apply them as they are much easier to manipulate then. Also, mark where your windows will fall on the background before you apply any adhesive. It will make your life so much easier. I didn’t and yes I still managed, but learn from my mistakes.

Welcome to the latest post in my Friday Focus series. Today we are looking at making a shaker card with no dimension. As you know in April we have been looking at things Shaker Cards. I’ve used the heart punch pack to create this little shaker window.

The Sweet Talk designer series paper (DSP) is Valentine’s paper but I think it works perfectly for this birthday card. I love all the shades of red and pink. So pretty and of course fun to make.

  • Sweet Talk DSP –

Welcome to this “Friday Focus” post. For the month of April, we are looking at all things Shaker Cards. Today’s card is what I would call a standard shaker card. It uses foam strips and tape to create a shaker card. It has dimension and shakes beautifully.

I’ve not used these shaker shapes in the shaker before. They have been sitting in my stash for the last year and at last, they are seeing the light of day. They are great, bright and fun.

measurements

  • Magenta Madness Cardstock – A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Magenta Madness Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 13.85cm X 9.5cm

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. For the month of April, we are looking at all things shaker cards. So are you ready to shake with me? Today we are looking at a full card shaker card. This is a great card to make as it “recycles” any pieces of plastic acetate packaging you have.

I love this card as you can see all the pretty paper in the background. I haven’t added too many shaker elements as this card has no dimension and you don’t want to hide the beautiful paper.

measurements

  • Fresh Freesia Cardstock – A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Pansy Patch – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Strip of Basic White that is 2.5cm wide
  • Piece of acetate packaging that measures at least 16cm X 11cm – I used an old C6 size clear envelope
