I have this easy horizontal gatefold to share with you today. The little ladybird punch is a favourite of mine. It matches the stamp set but also can be used on its own as I have done with this card.

This card is slightly smaller than a standard A6 card but it makes the scoring much easier. I used a white gel pen to add highlights to my little ladybirds. It really lifts the image. I used a hole punch to make the black dots on the ladybird. So easy and a great way to use up scraps.

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. During the month of May, I am looking at colour in my Friday Focus creations. Today my focus is on primary colours. The primary colours on the colour wheel are red (Real Red), yellow (Daffodil Delight) and blue (Pacific Point). These are the colours of my ladybirds which are my focal image.

These colours will mix with each other and sit well together as they are the primary colours. The colours I’ve chosen are vibrant and bright and really make this card pop.

Oh my, I love these cute little ladybirds. They stamp beautifully and are so easy to put together. I’ve added little white accents on the ladybirds using a white gel pen. They really lift the whole image and make them pop. Sometimes it’s just a small detail that really makes or breaks a card. I do quite a bit of art journaling and am always using my white gel pen so thought I would into my cardmaking as well.

Look at these adorable ladybirds. I found out that in North America they say Ladbug but we in the UK of course say Ladybird. It really is amazing how many differences they are between proper English and American English.

The Hello Ladybug stamp set comes with a matching punch which I haven’t used here. This is just the same stamp repeat stamped. It is a two step stamping set and really easy to line by hand. I didn’t use the stamparatus and these ladybirds came out great.
