This is a very simple monochromatic birthday card. I am starting to use embossing folders more and more in my designs. They add great texture and interest to backgrounds. The one I used here is called Pretty Flowers and is new in the catalogue. The rhinestones really make the flowers pop. Sometimes these tiny finishing touches really make a card.

I’m so happy with the way this has turned out. He reminds me of a children’s tv show I used to watch called “Captain Pugwash”. I think I still have some of the storybooks but not sure where. Perhaps in a box somewhere. The pirate is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend Alcohol markers. I made the rock he is standing on using the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder.

If you are a regular follower of my blog you will know that I love big bold sentiments. They make easy cards and work well with a busy designer series paper. This stamp set is called Biggest Wish and I love it. I use the stamparatus to stamp set this so I could restamp it to really deepen the colour.

A really simple design. I find I am using lots of banners and strips of paper in my cards now days. This is a great way to use up scraps and not waste anything. I’ve coloured these lovely flowers using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. The colour is Blackberry Bliss and really pops against the white.

As you may know I’m not a fan of fancy fold cards. Having said that, I’m trying to push myself our of my comfort zone and do more. This turned out quite well I think. The card is kept closed using a magnet hidden behind the sentiment. Pink and red are not colours that people put together very often but if done well as here, it looks good.

Hand-Penned – How to Make an easy Floral Card – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I made this cute card to send to a friend who just went into hospital now in April when I’m writing this. I will have this to her by the time this goes live and wanted to share it with you.

This is the Hand-Penned suite of products from Stampin’ Up! and it is new in the new annual catalogue. If you don’t have a copy of the catalogue and want one, then just click here to request one. This suite has a glorious stamp set, matching dies and of course pretty paper. I’ve used them all on this card. It is a two-step stamp set which the Stamparatus makes a doddle to use.

I love the new colour Pale Papaya. In South Africa where my mother’s family reside we call papaya, pawpaw so you will most probably hear me refer to it like that from now on.

How to use Watercolour Pencils – Little Birdie – Etched in Nature – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I attended in April an online Stampin’ Up! event. We had to make a card using the Etched in Nature stamp set and this was my take on it. I stamped this cute bird using the Stazon Saddle Brown ink. Watercolour pencils are one of my favourite colouring mediums and I had fun colouring this birdie in. I took my time and dried my image between each layer so that colours didn’t over mix.

The shimmery white cardstock is great for watercolouring. You could also use the fluid 100 watercolour paper but I would recommend watercolouring on basic white. You need a cardstock that can take the water with out pilling.

I love how this card turned out. The black frames make the whole card really pop. The centre panel is all hand stamped. I’ve used two shades of yellow as well as Calypso Coral for the sentiment. The little champagne rhinestones as flower centres just finish the whole card off nicely.

How cute are these? Oh my, if the snails in my garden were this cute I would invite them all to stay. One of these snails are fussy cut and one is cut with the dies, both from the designer series paper (DSP). I love the cute little toadstools. These are cut out of Real Red cardstock and then I added some white to give them this cute look.

The little heart between the two snails just as that lovely extra cute effect. The strip of Real Red is actually ribbon and gives these two snails somewhere to sit rather just floating around.
