I will freely admit I don’t make many cards for me. The reason is I don’t have any need for them. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and made this one. I love how it turned out. The sentiments are so sweet. Do you agree?

I was again thinking of the Red Arrows when I created this card. They are based at Waddington, just south of Lincoln. You can often see them practising in the skies around Lincoln. We made this card in July Card Club. It is easy to make and looks striking on the mantle piece.

I first made one of these teabag holders when I joined Stampin’ Up! That was over 12 years ago. Can you believe it? Time flies. These are easy to make from one sheet of 6″ X 6″ of paper or cardstock. I’ve chosen some nice herbal teas to do in them. I think these holders would be great as a little gift or as part of a hamper to give to someone special.

How to do it! The Blackout but not the Blackout Technique – Layered Florals – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – UK

The blackout technique seems to be taking the crafting world by storm. I love the effect but struggle with so much black on a card. I like bright, light and vibrant cards. Therefore I decided to do the technique but not use a black ink pad.

To make this card I dry embossed using the Layered Florals embossing folder. I then used Petunia Pop to create the same effect as a black ink pad. I tried the same technique using a Blueberry Bushel ink pad. What do you think of the results?

The version above uses Poppy Parade, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler. I have a lovely red rose outside my front door, which inspired this card. My neighbours have a yellow rose and this inspired the card below. Which one do you prefer? Let me know in the comments.

As some of you know I design my cards weeks ahead of them going “live” on my blog. I was watching the Chelsea Flower Show and as you may know, my maternal family is from South Africa. The South African stand got a Gold Medal and Best Stand in the Great Pavilion. This was the inspiration behind this card.

I am not sure what these shapes are meant to be. In the colours above they reminded me of fireworks. What do you think? Each shape is made with just one stamp. I stamped in the darker colour eg Daffodil Delight and then offset the stamp and stamped again in the lighter colour eg Lemon Lolly. I love the effect.

The above version uses Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lolly. The one below uses Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Pretty in Pink and Flirty Flamingo. Which one do you like best?

Don’t these cupcakes look delicious? They are from the Pocket Thoughts stamp set and are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I created the background with various techniques using the colours Coastal Cabana and Pool Party. These colours make the cupcakes really pop from the background. Check out the video below for the full tutorial.

I don’t have a clue what to call this fancy fold. Do you? I found it on Pinterest when I was searching for ideas. I’ve called it a pop out card as the front panel pops out. It is not a complicated card to make. I would recommend you make a template for yourself before you make it. It helps you understand the construction.

The lovely paper is the Mediterranean Blooms designer series paper (DSP). The above design is lemons and below is oranges. Which do you like best?

This card came about as a customer wanted a male card. The Take to the Sky suite of products from Stampin’ Up! is perfect for those difficult men’s cards. This card was inspired by watching the red arrows fly over my house. We live in Lincoln, where they are based and often have them or other military aircraft flying overhead.
