Mosaic Mood Card Share – Stampin’ Up!

The Mosaic Mood designer series paper (DSP) is from the annual catalogue. I’ve used this on a number of projects last year and thought it was time for a revival. I’ve used both sides of one sheet to make this simple Mosaic Mood card. I love the sentiment as well. It is so beautiful.

Mosaic Mood Card Share - Stampin' Up!
Mosaic Mood Card Share – Stampin’ Up!

The Mosaic Mood DSP has an embossed texture to mimic the tiles of a mosaic. The base colour is Mint Macaron which is a colour I hardly ever use but I think it actually works well with the Terracotta Tile in the DSP.

This is another card that is very simple and quick to make. I used the In Colour faceted dots as a cute accent to the sentiment. I’ve never used these even though I’ve had them since last year. I want to use them, so use them I did. I am determined to use what I have rather than it just sitting in my stash forever.

Timeless Tulips – Spotlighting – Stampin’ Up!

As followers of my blog will know, my favourite flowers are Tulips. I simply adore them. When I saw this the Timeless Tulips stamp set and matching punch I knew I had to have them.

Timeless Tulips - Spotlighting - Stampin' Up!
Timeless Tulips – Spotlighting – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve kept the colours very simple with just red and white. I love the contrast between real red and whisper white. I spotlighted the actual tulip flower in red with a black stem to highlight this.

Tulips do signify the start of Spring and warm weather to me. They are beautiful blooms even when they are dying and the petals fall open like orchids.

I felt the white background was a little bland and so I ran it the through the Basket Weave embossing folder to give it some subtle texture. I’ve not been using my embossing folder for ages so I decided I must start using them more as well.

measurements

  • Real Red A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

Golden Honey Bee Box - Stampin' Up!
Golden Honey Bee Box – Stampin’ Up!

This paper is gorgeous. It is black and white with gold foiling on one side. It is very elegant. The black and white side is perfect for male cards. This paper coordinates with Honey Bee Bundle in the new catalogue.

This box is a cute side opening box. The sentiment is simple and I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder to match the paper. It is punched out using the Label Me Fancy punch which actually can punch not just the shape but also the hole for the twine.

Measurements

  • Golden Honey DSP – 7″ X 8 1/2″
    • Scored on 8 1/2″ side at 1″, 4″, 5″, 8″
    • Scored on 7″ side at 1″, 2″, 6″

This box can be stored flat if you don’t seal the base and therefore take up little storage space. I’ve used two different patterns here. Which one do you prefer?

Wishing you Much Happiness – Stampin’ Up!

I have another easy and simple card to share with you today. This is one of my single sentiment cards. I love the script on the sentiment that reads “Wishing you Much Happiness Today and Always”. I love big bold sentiments as they make for quick and easy cards.

Wishing you Happiness Card - Stampin' Up!
Wishing you Happiness Card – Stampin’ Up!

One of my goals this year is to use up as much of my current designer series paper (DSP) before it retires. This card uses the DSP from the 2018-2020 In-Colours, specifically Lovely Lipstick and Blueberry Bushel. I’ve always loved the combination of pink and blue. They look great together.

The stamp set used here is So Sentimental and comes in a bundle with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. The dies are stitched and the rectangle ones are scalloped as well. So versatile!!

Grace’s Garden Floral Card Stampin’ Up!

I have this gorgeous card to share with you today featuring the Grace’s Garden stamp set and matching Garden Gate dies from Stampin’ Up!. I enjoyed creating this cottage garden scene. The purple flowers around the garden gate remind me of the wisteria over my lounge window.#

Grace's Garden Floral Card Stampin' Up!
Grace’s Garden Floral Card Stampin’ Up!

This card has a very shabby chic feel to it. I’ve embossed the very vanilla with the stone embossing folder from the sale-a-bration catalogue. The detail wasn’t showing up very well so I lightly sponged over it with Sahara Sand to bring out the details of the embossing and give it an aged appearance.

This card is actually based on one in the Spring / Summer catalogue. You cut the gate open in half to make this an interactive card but I decided against this as I wanted to place flowers in front of the gate.

The flowers are coloured in using the Stampin’ Write Markers. I scribbled some markers onto an acrylic stamping block and then picked up the colour using a blender pen.

measurements

  • Very Vanilla A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Very Vanilla cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm

I’ve combined two stamp sets to make this card. They are Barn Door and Grace’s Garden. They work well together I think. #

Best Dressed Mini Handbag – Stampin’ Up!

Today I have this darling little mini handbag to share with you. It features the Best Dressed suite of products and it is perfect for that girl about town.

Best Dressed Mini Handbag - Stampin' Up!
Best Dressed Mini Handbag – Stampin’ Up!

I decided to use Purple Posy as my main colour. This is a colour I haven’t used yet and decided that had to change. Unfortunately we no longer the Purple Posy ink pad but I used Blackberry Bliss and I think it works well together.

The Best Dressed suite is a great collection of the products. The highlight of which is the All Dressed Up dies. They include the die to make this beautiful handbag as well as a ton of accent pieces such as buckles and buttons. There are also dies to cut out the matching stamp set of lipstick, perfume bottles and shoes. The designer series paper (DSP) matches these images with the reverse side being lovely floral images.

Punched Love Hearts Card Tutorial – Stampin’ Up!

I’m back with this gorgeous punched love hearts card. This project uses products from the new Spring / Summer catalogue. Real Red is one of my favourite colours and here is paired with a colour I never use Flirty Flamingo. I think they go together rather well.

Punched Love Hearts Card Tutorial - Stampin' Up!
Punched Love Hearts Card Tutorial – Stampin’ Up!

The designer series paper (DSP), “From My Heart” is beautiful. It has foiled hearts in both Real Red and Flirty Flamingo. The hearts are punched out with the duo pack hearts punch. I’ve fussy cut out the small hearts.

There are quite a few new punches in the new catalogue. I love this return to punches as they make for easy and simple crafting. They are easy to use in classes and require no additional machine to use.

measurements

  • Flirty Flamingo A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • From My Heart DSP – 14.35 x 10cm

Dinosaur Card Tutorial – Dino Days

Hello and thank you for stopping by. I have this cute dinosaur card to share with you today. I love this suite of products. It includes a stamp set, dies, enamel shapes and of course designer series paper (DSP).

Dinosaur Card Tutorial - Dino Days
Dinosaur Card Tutorial – Dino Days

This is very much as fantasy dinosaur card. I have matched the colours to the colours of the DSP. The dies cut out everything so there is no fussy cutting needed. In fact, the dies actually cut out the images from one of the sheets of DSP as well so you don’t even need to stamp to make this card if you don’t want to. Super easy and super fun!!!

I think this suite of products would be perfect for a child’s birthday party. You could make party bags, placemats, name cards, thank you cards, etc… The list just goes on. The images are bright and eye-catching to garner interest by little ones with short attention spans.

measurements

  • Pool Party A6 Cardbase (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm x 10cm

Personally, I’m not a great dinosaur fan. It was never something that interested me as a child. It is strange as we lived around the corner from the National History Museum in London with the famous “Dippy” the dinosaur in the entrance hall but there you go. I, therefore, have no idea of the names of any of these dinosaurs. Perhaps one of you can let me know in the comments section. Do you like dinosaurs?

some other fun projects

I’ve also used the Dinosaur DSP to make a gorgeous mini album that I will be featuring in a couple of weeks time as well.

Tulips in Autumn – Greetings Card Tutorial

I have this simple and clean card to share with you. It features my favourite flowers, Tulips, which I love. I have therefore named it Tulips in Autumn. This stamp is from the “Winds of Change” stamp set which I have already used.

Tulips in Autumn - Greetings Card Tutorial
Tulips in Autumn – Greetings Card Tutorial

I was at the garden centre for lunch recently and the array of Tulips bulbs is mind-blowing. They come in such a fantastic range of colours, shapes and textures. Once upon a single tulip bulb sold for than craftsman’s annual salary. I love looking at all the tulips in Autumn and dreaming of their beauty in the Spring.

This card is much cheaper to make than that. I’ve stamped the tulip in memento black in and coloured it in with the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. The cotton real red ribbon just gives added interest to the background.

measurements

  • Whisper White A6 Cardbase (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Real Red – Brights designer series family stack – 14.35cm x 7.6cm

I love the combination of red and green. I don’t feel it just a Christmas colour. They are opposite sides of the colour wheel and therefore are complimentary colours.

I love floral cards and my favourite, of course, are Tulips. What are your favourite images on cards? Let me know in the comments section. I love reading your comments.

Sunflower – Birthday Card Tutorial

I have this sunny Birthday Card to share with you today. This card features a lovely sunflower from the Painted Harvest stamp set to brighten up any day. The card is simple and easy to make and really brings up back to the basics of cardmaking, ink, paper and stamps.

Sunflower Birthday Card Tutorial
Sunflowers Birthday Card Tutorial

I love sunflowers. They are stunning flowers. I was watching the Tour de France earlier this year and remember seeing the amazing fields of sunflowers in parts of France. They are truly a spectacle to behold.

I normally don’t enjoy fussy cutting as I don’t have the patience for it but I seem to be making quite a few cards that require fussy cutting recently. Not sure why though. The sunflower on this card is fussy cut and it is not as hard as I thought it would be. The image is very forgiving as it has such a sketchy design.

measurements

  • Early Espresso Cardbase – A6 – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Whisper White Cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm
  • Pressed Petals – 13.85cm x 9.5cm
  • Garden Green Cardstock – 11.5cm x 4.5cm
  • Whisper White Cardstock – 11cm x 4cm

As mentioned previously this is a really simple card to make that goes back to the basics of card, ink and paper. I think sometimes we make such elaborate cards that we forget how effective just simple stamping can be.
