The colours here are Gorgeous Grape and Purple Posy. Don’t they go well together? I love it. I wish I had tried this combination earlier. This bag is very easy to make and looks so pretty. The sentiment is from one of my favourite sets, “So Sentimental”. The crinkled seam binding just sets it off lovely.

measurements

  • Purple Posy cardstock – 10 1/2″ X 8″ Scored on
    • 10 1/2″ side at 1/2″, 3 1/2″, 5 1/2″, 8 1/2″
    • 8″ side at 2″

I was so excited when I saw blending brushes in the new catalogue. They work a treat to blend inks. As you may know I love playing with colours and inks. I’ve always struggled to get a good blend with a sponge but with these blending brushes it was as easy as pie.

You don’t need a separate brush for each colour. I have one for each colour family, for example, one for blues, one for yellows / oranges etc…. I just store them in a cute penguin mug on my desk. Brilliant!!

Measurements

  • Thick Whisper White – A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm X 10cm

How to add Extra Detail to a Stamped Image

I have this gorgeous card to share with you today using very natural and neutral colours. The stamp set is Enjoy the Moment. This was a free set I got in my convention bag last November. Onstage was a virtual event from the comfort of our own homes but still loads of fun. This card is based on one demonstrated to us.

I have stamped using Crumb Cake ink and then added shadows and extra detail using the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend Alcohol markers over the top. I’ve also the blue surround to give depth to the image.

measurements

  • Crumb Cake A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Early Espresso Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 14.35cm X 10cm

This bag uses the Field of Flowers designer series paper (DSP) which is a freebie you can earn in Sale-a-bration. You can make two of these bags from one sheet of 12″ X 12″ paper which is great. It holds a lovely packet of chocolates for a sweet treat for someone special.

Sale-a-bration is one of the most fantastic times of the Stampin’ Up! year. For every £45.00 you spend you can chose a free item from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.

Measurements

  • Field of Flowers DSP – 11 1/2″ X 6″ scored on
    • 11 1/2″ side at 1/2″, 4″, 6″, 9 1/2″

Terracotta Tile is one of the in-colours that will be retiring this year. I have stock of cardstock and I want to use it up before it retires. It looks really good here with the white which makes it pop. The stamp set is Grace’s Garden and I’ve coloured it in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. This scene reminds me of the gardens in some of the villages around here. They are beautiful and so tranquil.

measurements

  • Terracotta Tile A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Whisper White – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Terracotta Tile Designer Series Paper – 13.85cm X 9.5cm

I love making these cards with big, bold sentiments. They pop and make a real statement. The stamp set I used is “Ornate Thanks”. I used the heck out of this set. It’s one of my favourites. The designer series paper (DSP) is the “Oh So Ombre” pack. It is one of the items you can get free during Sale-a-bration and it’s Bermuda Bay!! A favourite colour of mine. What could be better.

measurements

  • Basic Black A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • On So Ombre DSP – 14.35cm X 10cm

Simple Rococo Rose Magnetic Closure Gift Box – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

This is a lovely rectangle gift box that has a magnetic closure. It would be perfect to hold a piece of jewellery. Rococo Rose is one of the in-colours that is retiring later this year. I have quite a bit of cardstock and patterned paper in this colour and want to start to use it up, hence this box.

measurements

  • Rococo Rose – 11″ X 8 1/4 scored on
    • 11″ side at 1″, 5″, 6″, 10″
    • 8 1/4″ side at 1″ from either side

I love these layered flower sets. This one is called Art Gallery. I’m writing this blog a couple of days before Christmas. A friend of my mothers has gone into hospital for a knee replacement operation. I made this card to send to her and I thought I would share it with you. The epoxy clear gems in the centre of the flowers make the card pop and give it dimension.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Garden Green cardstock – 15.3cm X 8.5cm

I absolutely love these cute little zebras. Aren’t they having a wonderful party? I want to join in. This would make a great card for that friend who loves to party. I’ve used the in-colour enamel dots to give this card some pops of colour. To me they look like confetti being thrown up in the air.

As it folds flat is stores very easily and you make a few of these for all occasions. The designer series paper is called Paper Blooms. It’s another free item you can earn during sale-a-bration.
