Big Little Things – Playing With This Fun Animal Stamp Set – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

I’m sharing two clean and stylish cards today that showcase the Big Little Things stamp set, and I have to say, this set is full of personality! These fun animal images are perfect for a wide range of occasions and work beautifully with patterned paper and bold colour accents.

For these cards, I’ve kept the layout simple but impactful, letting the stamped images take centre stage while adding texture and interest with layers and dies.

Card Design Details

Both cards start with a Basic Black card base, which gives a strong, modern frame and really helps the lighter elements stand out. I’ve used Boho Vibes DSP as the main background layer, choosing two different patterns to show how versatile this paper pack is.

The focal images are stamped using the Big Little Things stamp set and cut out with the Perennial Postage dies. I love the postage-style edge these dies create – they instantly add detail without needing any extra embellishments.

To give the cards a pop of colour, I’ve layered the focal panels onto Melon Mambo cardstock. This bright accent lifts the monochrome palette and adds a fun, playful feel that suits the animal images perfectly.

Finishing Touches

The sentiments are taken from the Greetings to You stamp set, which is a go-to for me when I want something clean and easy to read. They pair beautifully with the images without overpowering the design.

Overall, these cards are great examples of how you can mix bold cardstock, patterned paper, and simple stamping to create eye-catching designs that work for lots of occasions – from thank you cards to congratulations and beyond.

Why I Love This Stamp Set

What I really enjoy about Big Little Things is how adaptable it is. You can keep things minimal like I’ve done here, or step it up with colouring, embossing, or extra layers. It’s a brilliant set to have on hand when you need a quick card that still feels special.

How to Create a Bold Thank You Card. – Thanking You – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Sometimes a simple design with strong colours can create the biggest impact, and today’s bold thank you cards are a perfect example of that. These cards are quick to make, full of contrast, and ideal to keep on hand for any occasion where a heartfelt thank you is needed.

For this project, I’ve focused on combining heat embossing with patterned paper, allowing the sentiment to really shine while the background adds interest and texture.

White Heat Embossing for Maximum Impact

The sentiment on both cards is stamped using the Thanking You stamp set and white heat embossed directly onto patterned paper. Heat embossing instantly elevates a card design, giving the sentiment a crisp, professional finish and a lovely raised texture.

White embossing works particularly well here as it stands out beautifully against the darker patterned papers, creating that bold, eye-catching look without needing lots of extra layers or embellishments.

Beautiful Bokeh Patterned Paper

Both cards feature Beautiful Bokeh DSP, which adds a soft, dreamy background while still allowing the sentiment to take centre stage. The subtle circular pattern gives the illusion of depth and movement, making these cards feel special without being overly busy.

Using patterned paper as a focal panel is a great way to create interest quickly, especially when paired with a strong sentiment stamp.

Colour Combinations Used

For the first card, I paired:

  • A Bubble Bath card base
  • Berry Burst Beautiful Bokeh patterned paper

This combination feels bright and cheerful, perfect for sending a happy and uplifting thank you.

For the second card, I used:

  • A Calypso Coral card base
  • Calypso Coral Beautiful Bokeh patterned paper

This version has a warmer, more vibrant feel while still keeping the design clean and simple.

Both colourways show how easy it is to adapt the same layout to different colour schemes.

  • Bubble Bath / Calypso Coral Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces
  • Beautiful Bokeh designers series paper – 13.85cm X 9.5cm

Simple Layout, Big Results

The layout for these cards is intentionally straightforward, allowing the sentiment and colours to do all the work. A single embossed focal panel, layered onto a coordinating card base, creates a polished look that’s easy to mass-produce if you need multiple cards in a hurry.

This design is ideal for:

  • Thank you cards
  • Happy mail
  • Craft fairs
  • Quick handmade cards using your patterned paper stash

Just a Note Bundle – Easy and Fun Card. – With you in Mind. Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you’re looking for a quick and creative way to make cards with a playful twist, the Just a Note Bundle is perfect! These cards are easy to put together and so much fun to make. Today, I’ve combined three stamp sets – With You In Mind, Just a Note and Elements of Text – to create a notebook-inspired design that is simple yet eye-catching.

Notebook Effect with Stamping and Dies

To achieve the torn notebook paper look, I stamped on Basic Beige cardstock using the Just a Note stamp set and Basic Beige ink. This creates a subtle lined effect that resembles a sheet of notepaper. The coordinating dies take it one step further with the torn-edge detail, making it look like it’s been ripped from a notebook.

Colour Inspiration

I made two variations of this card to show how easy it is to change the feel by simply switching the colours. One version uses Blueberry Bushell paired with a bold blue patterned background, while the other card features Strawberry Slush with a softer pink design. Both give a fresh and fun look, perfect for any occasion.

  • Blueberry Bushell / Strawberry Slush designer series paper (DSP) – 13.85cm X 9.5cm

Finishing Touches

The finishing detail is the little gold clip, die cut from the Just a Note dies using Gold Foil Sheets. It adds a polished touch to the design and makes the notepaper look as if it’s held in place. A few tiny gold accents complete the look, tying everything together beautifully.

These cards are quick to make and are perfect for sending a cheerful thank you, birthday wish, or just a note to brighten someone’s day.

Use one Ink Pad to get Different Shades – Impressions Abloom – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln, UK.

Use One Ink Pad to Get Different Shades – Impressions Abloom

Did you know you can create beautiful depth and variation in your stamping with just one ink pad? Today’s project showcases exactly that, using the Impressions Abloom stamp and die set from Stampin’ Up! With the simple technique of second-generation stamping, you can add dimension and shading without needing extra supplies.

These two vibrant “Thanks” cards highlight how you can stretch your ink pads further—and give your stamped images a different look and feel.

Two Cards, One Technique

For both cards, I used the same technique: second-generation stamping for the first (base) layer, and then added detail using first-generation stamping. This approach gives the flowers more depth and variation in tone, while still keeping the colour palette simple and cohesive.

Card One: Bold & Bright in Azure Afternoon and Real Red

This cheerful card features bright florals in Azure Afternoon and Real Red. The bold blue background brings a crisp freshness, while the pop of red adds warmth and energy. The soft second-generation stamping gives the base petals a gentle wash of colour, with the first-generation details adding a crisp contrast.

The bright red frame and embellishments tie the design together perfectly, making it a truly eye-catching thank you card.

Card Two: Rich & Warm in Gorgeous Grape and Timid Tiger

This version takes on a richer, warmer feel. I paired Gorgeous Grape and Timid Tiger for a striking floral combination that feels both elegant and playful. The background strip adds texture and interest without overwhelming the card, while the orange stitched frame creates a beautiful focal point around the stamped flowers.

The subtle ink blending on the left adds an extra touch of softness, enhancing the layered stamping effect beautifully.

Simple Technique, Stunning Results

Second-generation stamping is an easy but powerful technique to master. Simply ink your stamp, stamp it once on scrap paper, then immediately stamp it again onto your project. You’ll get a lighter version of the ink colour that works beautifully for backgrounds or base layers—perfect for projects like this.

It’s a brilliant way to extend your ink pad’s possibilities without needing additional supplies.

A Fun Way to Use the Florals in Bloom Paper

Looking for a creative way to get even more out of your patterned paper? Today’s card project is a fantastic example of how to turn beautiful paper into something extra special. This card features the stunning Florals in Bloom paper and a bold sentiment from the With You In Mind stamp set.

Showcasing the Paper with a Panelled Layout

Instead of using the patterned paper as one solid piece, I cut it into small rectangular panels and arranged them with a narrow border to create a window-style effect. This simple technique adds dimension and visual interest without taking away from the lovely floral design. It’s a great way to stretch your stash and get multiple cards from just one sheet of paper!

Bold Sentiment for Maximum Impact

The sentiment, stamped in a bright green, is from the With You In Mind stamp set and really pops against the floral background. I mounted it on a coordinating white mat and added a couple of sparkly embellishments for a subtle touch of shine. A little bit of twine tucked behind adds that extra texture and interest.

Perfect for Any Occasion

This layout is so versatile. You can easily swap out the sentiment for birthday wishes, congratulations, or just a simple hello. It’s also a wonderful way to showcase your favourite designer paper – whether it’s florals, geometric prints or seasonal patterns.

Try It Yourself!

Why not pull out some of your paper stash and give this layout a go? It’s quick, easy and looks really effective. Whether you’re making cards for friends, loved ones or for your stash box, this design is sure to be a hit.

Perfectly Pears. How to Create a Range of Coloured Pears – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

Today I’m sharing a deliciously fun card featuring the Perfectly Pears stamp and die set. Whether you love fruit-themed designs or enjoy experimenting with colour techniques, this project offers a simple way to add depth and interest to your stamped images.

The Perfectly Pears set is a two-step stamp set, which means it includes both an outline stamp and a solid fill stamp. This gives you the perfect opportunity to get creative with layering and shading.

Creating Pear-fect Colour Blends

To get the rich, realistic tones on these pears, I used a technique that’s both easy and effective. I stamped the outline image first in a darker colour—in this case, Pecan Pie. For the fill layer, I used a lighter shade, Darling Duckling, and added depth by applying a bit more Pecan Pie with a sponge dauber.

By dabbing the darker ink around the edges or where the shadow might naturally fall, I was able to create a soft, blended look that gives the pear more dimension. The dauber technique also gives you control, so you can build the shading gradually.

  • Basic White Cardsock – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Painterly Pears designer series paper (DSP) – 14.35cm X 10cm

Coordinating the Design

The background paper, full of floral and pear motifs, adds a lovely vibrant feel and ties the whole card together. I mounted everything onto a rich green base, layered with a delicate paper doily for texture. The sentiment was stamped in green and cut into a banner, layered with a second accent banner underneath for a touch of contrast.

Different colour combos

You can see from the enclosed colour chart by fellow demonstrator Sally Poole just how many colour combinations you can create using this stamp set. Try pairing Old Olive with Mossy Meadow, or Daffodil Delight with Flirty Flamingo for something more playful.

If you would like a copy of the catalogue, click on the contact me button and I will get one out to you. Remember you can shop in my online shop 24 /7 from the comfort of your own home.

I love to read your comments and get feedback on my work so please do comment either here or on my YouTube account.
