I love how this card turned out. It is darling, don’t you agree? This little turtle is so cute. This card is a mixture of stamped images and die cuts. Scene cards are some of my favourite cards to make. They do take a little longer to create but they are such fun to make.

The stamped images are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I’ve added shading to the die cuts using the matching ink colours and blending brushes. This adds dimension and depth to the die cuts so they don’t look so flat.

I told myself a little story when I designed this card. The child has been busy building his castle using his building blocks. He is now trying to cast a magic spell to make his toy castle into a real one.

All the elements bar the little “wizard” are created using the dies and cardstock. The “wizard” is stamped and die-cut. There is co-ordinating paper and the dies do cut out some of the images. In the example below I’ve used the image from the paper.

I adore the Easter Bunny stamp set. Yes, all my easter bunnies are white, but the Easter bunny is white to me. I matched this stamp set with the Up & Away paper. This paper is a part of the Hot Air Balloon suite but goes well with this set. I took my inspiration for colours from the designer series paper. It has lovely pastel colours which are perfect for Easter.

I’m back with another project using the Fluffiest Friends stamp and die bundle. I just love all the cute little critters in this set. Which is your favourite?

This beaver is coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I do love to colour, it’s so relaxing. I used both stamps and dies in this card. The die set comes with little leaves and branches to decorate the card. The beaver is so sweet sitting on his “nest” of leaves. You can ink the leaves well for extra interest.

Isn’t this bear cute? He looks so happy, gorging himself on honey. I love how the honey is dripping out of the pot. I used a mixture of stamped and die-cut elements to make this card.

The main image is coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I love these as they are so easy to colour with. I generally start with my darker colour and then blend with the lighter one. Just be careful not to over-saturate your image. If I want to add more colour, I will let the image dry and then come back and work on it again.

I love to read, do you? I know we have digital books but there is something special about real books. Nothing can beat it. I do admit I will buy fiction books digitally but never nonfiction. It’s just too hard to keep referencing back to previous pages digitally.

Making your own bookmarks is so easy and why not have something pretty to keep your page? This bookmark is a magnetic one. I bought the magnet pairs online a few years ago and still have tons left.

The inspiration for this project is the neighbourhood ginger cat. I don’t know where his home is but he loves to sunbath either in my drive or garden.

I love it when a stamp set matches a set of dies already in my stash. The Shop The Town stamp set fits the Let’s Go Shopping dies from the main annual catalogue. The stamp set can also be used with the Let’s Go Shopping stamp set. You can therefore build a variety of great Christmas scene cards.

As you know I love to colour. This card took a while to make but I found it so therapeutic to sit and colour. I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! Blends alcohol markers. They are so easy to blend and shade with.

I love the Les Shoppes suite of products from Stampin’ Up! They include the stamps and dies that I’ve used above as well as paper and sequins. You can do so much with these stamps and dies. I love stamps that allow you to build a scene. There are endless possibilities for customisation. You could have a street of shops, tables, benches, flowers and of course that lovely lamp post.

I think the shop window would make a lovely shaker card. You could have the door opening to reveal a hidden image or sentiment. The paper is gorgeous as well with lots of shop fronts if you don’t want to stamp and colour your own.

I was proud of this idea of a rainbow bridge made using the cloud punch. The highlights on the clouds are made using a white gel pen. The little kitty sitting under the bridge waiting for his owner is coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers.

It is always difficult making cards such as these but I hope this would bring comfort.

The rainbow bridge is a pastel rainbow and my colours are:

  • Petal Pink
  • Calypso Coral
  • Lemon Lolly
  • Soft Sea Foam
  • Balmy Blue
  • Highland Heather
