How to Use Stampin’ Up! Ink Pads for Heat Embossing – Phrases for All – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo

Quite often, I find people forget that they can use the Stampin’ Up! ink pads for heat embossing. The pads are juicy and therefore, stay wet long enough for embossing. You do have to work quickly but it is easy to do. The colour I’ve used here is Pretty Peacock with the Phrases for All stamp set. You can’t see the embossing in the photo above but it is clear in the video below.

This cute gift box holds three little votive candles. The side panel is see-through. The window sheet is very sturdy and works well as the side panel. I didn’t use a die to create the window. I measured and cut the window using a ruler and craft knife. You don’t need lots of fancy tools to make something stunning.

I’ve made this little box using two different designer series paper packs. The top one is the Oxidized Copper paper and the bottom one is Snowflake Magic. They are both speciality paper and have lots of shine and sparkle to them. Which do you prefer?

Simple “Thinking of You” Card Tutorial – Rooted in Nature – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I’m really happy with how this card turned out. It’s so simple but effective. The sentiment comes from the set “Rooted in Nature”. This is set that replaced our much loved but now retired “Lovely as a Tree” The little flowers in the corner are using the Small Bloom punch. To give it texture I used my stylus and piercing foam mat.

This card was also part of a colour challenge. The colours to be used were Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana & Terracotta Tile. I think they work well, don’t you?

Make a Snowman Christmas Card With Me

Make a Snowman Christmas Card With Me. Snowman Season – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

Make a Snowman Christmas Card With Me. Snowman Season – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

Are you looking forward to snow this winter? Unfortunately, I’ve never had a white Christmas either here in Lincoln or when I lived in London. I’m divided about whether I want snow this year. I love to look at it but have don’t want to be snowed in on top of everything else. My little car won’t do well through heavy snowdrifts. Two years ago we had a foot of snow and I couldn’t take my car out for a week. We didn’t even get any post for that week.

Both our neighbours have young children, I’m sure they will love making snowman this year if we have enough of the white stuff. This is a lovely stamp set as you can stamp the whole snowman as I’ve done here or the individual parts. There is of course a matching die set.

Make Christmas a Little More Special – Stampin’ Up!

Make Christmas a Little More Special – Stampin’ Up! – My first Christmas card of the year

Yes, I’m starting to make my Christmas cards already. I want to make enough cards for me to send and for my mother as well to send to her friends. That is a lot of cards to make!!

Make Christmas a Little More Special - Stampin' Up!
Make Christmas a Little More Special – Stampin’ Up!

I think it would be wonderful if we could all make Christmas a little more special this year. For me this means, connecting with more people from my family in South Africa and friends around the world.

I love this design from the Plaid Tidings designer series paper (DSP). The colours are Pretty Peacock and Shaded Spruce. I would never have thought these two colours would go together but they do.

Roar – Dinosaur Card – Stampin’ Up!

Roar goes the Dinosaur. I love these brightly coloured dinosaurs in the Dino Roar designer series paper (DSP). They are perfect for children’s cards.

Roar Roar - Dinosaur Card - Dino Roar - Stampin' Up!
Roar Roar – Dinosaur Card – Dino Roar – Stampin’ Up!

I really enjoyed making this card. These dinosaurs are actually die cut from the Dino Roar DSP. The dies match not only the dinosaur stamps but also the images on the DSP making them super versatile. They are very easy to line up and cut out and there are separate dies for the scales though I just fussy cut them out.

I used the complimentary enamel shapes as my embellishments and for the scales of the lovely lipstick coloured dinosaur. I haven’t got a clue what species each of these dinosaurs are. They are just pink or blues ones to me.

measurements

  • Pretty Peacock A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • DinoRoar DSP – 14.35cm x 10xm
  • Whisper White – 13.35cm x 9cm

I think the sentiment is so cute and matches all these little friends on the card perfectly. The dinosaur standing on his friend’s nose was a mistake but I liked it so kept it.

Thank you card Tutorial – Bird Ballard Suite

Thank you card tutorial using the Bird Ballard suite of products from Stampin’ Up!

I have another card to share with you today that features fussy cutting. Yes, its the birds again from the Bird Ballard designer series paper (DSP). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love the birds on this paper.

As I write this I can hear the birds tweeting merrily away outside. I think they are happy the days of rain have stopped and that we have a dry sunny day here today. I took my mother to the Chinese supermarket in town to get some mooli which is an Indian white radish. It is also called a daikon and is eaten often in South and East Asia. Outside the shop, there is a starling’s nest that has one baby. This baby is not too clever though, bless it. It keeps flying into the shop and the mother is forever calling for it to come back out. Perhaps it’s trying to imitate us and going shopping for food instead of searching the ground for it.

Thank you card tutorial using the Bird Ballard Suite or products from Stampin' Up!
Thank you card using the Bird Ballard Suite of products from Stampin’ Up!

This card is another quick and easy make. The focal image is just fussy cut from the Bird Ballard DSP and then a quick sentiment is stamped and the card assembled.

Measurements

  • Pool Party A6 card base
  • Pretty Peacock In Colours 2019 – 2021 DSP 13.35 cm x 9 cm.
  • Scalloped Lace Trim – 12 cm long

One reason I love Stampin’ Up! is that the coordination of products is great. This is shown here with matching ink and card base.
