Easy Thank You Card – Ornate Thanks – Embossing – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

This is a companion card to the gift box that I made in the previous blog post. They both use the “You’re a Peach” designer series paper (DSP). This is a really easy card to make but still has that wow factor due to the heat embossed sentiment. It’s heat embossed in gold embossing powder to match the gold metallic sheet that I’ve used a mat for both the sentiment and DSP.

Colour me Beautiful – Grateful Card

Colour me Beautiful – Grateful Card – Beautiful Penned DSP – Ornate Thanks – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

This card uses only one colour, Polished Pink, I don’t count black and white as colours and doesn’t it look fabulous. I love pink flowers they are so bold and happy. These flowers are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. A firm favourite of mine to colour with as they make shading so easy.

Colour Challenge – Accepted – Thank You Card – Ornate Thanks – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I am part of a larger team of demonstrators here in the UK. In our group page we have every Monday, something called Mojo Monday. Each Monday once of us will either post a colour challenge or a sketch which we all interpret with our own creations. This week the colour challenge was to use Basic Grey, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. This was my creation.

Make a Simple Ombre Thank You Card Stampin’ Up! – Ornate Thanks – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I love making these cards with big, bold sentiments. They pop and make a real statement. The stamp set I used is “Ornate Thanks”. I used the heck out of this set. It’s one of my favourites. The designer series paper (DSP) is the “Oh So Ombre” pack. It is one of the items you can get free during Sale-a-bration and it’s Bermuda Bay!! A favourite colour of mine. What could be better.

Strips – Using Your Scraps – Stampin’ Up!

I love being able to use up my scraps. This card uses strips of patterned paper cut at wonky angles to create this great card. A great sentiment is all you need to finish off this card.

This paper is the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (DSP). It is so pretty and I really enjoying using it time and time again. I’ve started to plan my mini album with this DSP to hold all my summer flower pictures from our own garden and all the surrounding villages.

I’ve long made cards using scraps but my upline Amanda Fowler showed me this technique using wonky cut pieces of paper and leaving gaps between each strip. It is quiet effective don’t you think?

I love driving around in the summer and seeing all the pretty gardens. The village of Nettleham, about 10 minutes from us is especially pretty. The local garden nursery sponsors hanging baskets outside various establishments and they always look amazing.

Blue Poppies – Himalayan Blue Poppy

I have this gorgeous card to share with you today using blue poppies. This card is my interpretation of the Himalayan blue poppy. This is a pretty blue flower with a little yellow centre. When I saw it I knew I wanted to try and make a card around this idea.

I am really pleased with how this turned out and I hope you like it to. The card is mainly die cutting. The l ight blue is Balmy Blue and the Pacific Point gives a contrast to the flower. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz (Light Green) and Old Olive (Dark Green)

The die set does come with a die to cut out flower centres but I thought these gold faceted gems work perfectly and also give some bling to the card. These gems are unfortunately retiring but still available as I write this.

I did some research on the Himalayan blue poppy. It was formally named in 1912 by Lt. Col. Frederick Marshman Bailey. It is hardy in much of the UK and is perennial so comes back every year. How great is that? I definitely want to try and grow some in the garden. They would look gorgeous in a cottage garden.

I hope you enjoyed this card. I had fun making it. The die is Poppy Moments and I intend to give it a good work out. I think I will try making some yellow and orange poppies next either to use on a card or as an embellishment on a bag or box. I think this die set would be fabulous to make scrapbooking embellishments especially if you are doing a page about the 75th anniversary of VE day.

More and More Thank Yous – Ornate Thanks

I have another thank you card to share with you today. I seem to be making more and more thank yous at the moment. This card uses the Ornate Thanks stamp set. I love the big & bold sentiments.

The designer series paper (DSP) is called Perennial Essence. I loved this paper when it came out and I have only used it ONCE!! Bad me!! I’ve used it again today and I still love it. It is so pretty and floral. I’ve cut a strip into the three smaller strips so that it looks like you are seeing the scene through a window.

The pinks in the DSP are Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink and I used these again in the cardstock and ink so that the card feels harmonious.

I am glad that we seemed to be blessed with good weather. It is so much more pleasant to look at a sunny garden that a dreary wet one. In the UK we have now been on “lockdown” 5 weeks and it is becoming, unfortunately, more normal. We are coping ok though I do find it hard not being to drive to the next village for a walk in the fields. I am so grateful that I have crafting to keep me busy and sane in the mean time.

Ornate Thanks Card – Stampin’ Up!

This card features the Ornate thanks stamp set to make my ornate thanks card. The Ornate Garden suite of products has just been released. It will be in the new catalogue that launches in June but you can buy this suite early which I think is a special treat in the current circumstances.

This card is totally heat embossed using white embossing powder. I can you I made an absolute mess with the powder when I made this. There was powder everywhere. I didn’t manage to get into the pot very well. There was a silver lining as it meant I cleared my whole desk and gave it a good clean for the first time in longer than I care to admit.

I want to try and make some more thank you cards in the next few weeks. I am going to give this to staff in Waitrose and Tesco which are the two supermarkets I use the most. There are a couple of staff I know as they are always at the self-scan area. I use the scan and shop as I don’t want to lift the shopping any more than I have to. I have a repetitive strain injury in one arm and a frozen shoulder on the other. A thank you card would be nice for my postie too.
