Eye-Catching Butterfly Card for Birthdays – Quick and Beautiful – Beautiful Butterflies – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – UK.

I created two incarnations of this card, the second being the one I love. Sometimes it takes a few goes to get it right. Between these two cards, I have used all the new 25 – 27 incolours. The card above, the second incarnation, features Cloud Cover, Strawberry Slush and Secret Sea. The one below is Darling Duckling and Timid Tiger.

Beautiful Butterflies – Heat Emboss for that Wow Factor. – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

If you’re looking to add instant elegance and a touch of drama to your handmade cards, then heat embossing is the technique for you! In today’s project, I’m showcasing two stunning birthday cards made with the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set, embossing folder, and coordinating dies—all designed to make your butterflies pop with texture and shine.

These cards feature a bold heat-embossed butterfly as the centrepiece. I used white embossing powder to create a crisp, raised outline that stands out against the colourful backgrounds.

One card pairs Pretty Peacock with Coastal Cabana for a fresh, vibrant look that’s perfect for anyone who loves rich jewel tones. The second card combines Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink—a sweet and cheerful combo that adds a soft, feminine touch. Both colour palettes are enhanced with embossed details in the background, using the coordinating embossing folder to add extra texture and interest.

To finish, I added a classic Happy Birthday sentiment and a few pearls to tie everything together. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, heat embossing is an easy way to elevate your cards and impress your recipients.

I have this stunning birthday card to share featuring the Beautiful Butterflies bundle. This bundle includes a hybrid embossing folder, dies and a gorgeous stamp set. The embossing folder matches the dies. I’ve layered the die-cut butterfly over the embossed image. I love the effect.

I’ve been watering the plants every few days in the garden. It is so peaceful, watching the wildlife go about their business. I love watching the butterflies flittering from flower to flower. So beautiful. This was the inspiration for this simple care. Above is a blue version of this card and below is an orange and yellow version. Which do you prefer?

I love butterflies and was so happy to see this new butterfly set in the catalogue. These gorgeous butterflies are watercoloured using the Stampin’ Up! ink pads. If you are going to watercolour, always remember to use suitable paper. I have used Fluid 100 watercolour paper here. Basic White won’t stand up to water as well as Fluid 100 and you are liable to get pilling of your paper.

One trick I employed here is to black heat emboss my images before I watercoloured them. This helps to keep the colour in the lines and stop it flowing everywhere.

This is a Focus Friday card. During the month of June, we are looking at different ways to use designer series paper. I used the Beautiful Shapes dies to create this card. I love having hexagons in various sizes. It’s a great way to use up scraps. I saw a scrapbook page that used hexagons as focal images and thought that I wanted to do the same with a card.

Welcome to Focus Friday. For the month of March, we are focusing on stencils. Today we are looking at layering stencils. Layering stencils allow you to build up detail, depth and texture to an image. I’ve used the butterfly image here from the Butterflies & Flowers stencil pack. You can use more than two colours if you wish but I would advise you to start with two and build it up from there.

I love anything that has a mixed-media vibe to it. So much fun to play with colours, different textures and techniques. This background started off as a plain piece of basic white cardstock, can you believe it?

I’ve combined the embossed heat resist technique and blending brushes. It creates this gorgeous card. The butterflies are all one stamp set; Butterfly Brilliance.

This card out so well. I was really struggling initially and tried many different things, but nothing looked good. I then had a lightbulb moment and here we have it. What do you think?

The background designer series paper (DSP) is from “In Good Taste”. I think it makes the butterflies look like they are sunning themselves on a warm wall. The black really makes everything pop. The rhinestones on their bodies give the card that wonderful bling.

This is a super simple card to make. The background is stamped. I love stamping my own backgrounds as I can make them bespoke to me. I’ve used the Beauty Abounds set and these pretty bokeh style circles in Coastal Cabana. The deeper colour is Pretty Peacock and it goes so well with Coastal Cabana.

The butterflies from Butterfly Gala have a matching punch. I’ve picked up on the butterflies again with this cute little butterfly gems in Pretty Peacock. Easy Peasy!!
