I love it when a stamp set matches a set of dies already in my stash. The Shop The Town stamp set fits the Let’s Go Shopping dies from the main annual catalogue. The stamp set can also be used with the Let’s Go Shopping stamp set. You can therefore build a variety of great Christmas scene cards.

As you know I love to colour. This card took a while to make but I found it so therapeutic to sit and colour. I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! Blends alcohol markers. They are so easy to blend and shade with.

Measurements

  • Shaded Spruce / Real Red Cardstock – 20cm X 21cm scored at 10cm on the 20cm side.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 20.5cm X 9.5cm X 2 pieces

I had a little story in my mind when I designed this card. The little green birdie was coming to tell Mr Red he’d passed his fledgling test and was now a fully qualified bird. Mr Red was congratulating him on passing with flying colours. Yes, I know the story was ridiculous but I just like the idea of these two birds twittering away together.

I love creating scene cards. All the stamps for this card come from just one set, Sweetsong Birds. I’ve added extra interest to the card with the basic borders die. It just sets off the gingham paper beautifully.

Measurements

  • Parakeet Party Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces
  • Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper – 14.35cm X 5cm

I love the die I’ve used to cut out the frame for this card. It would also make a perfect shaker pocket don’t you think? The snowman is sitting on a snowbank cut from Very Vanilla glimmer paper. The camera doesn’t pick up the lovely glittery effect at all, but trust me it is there.

The sentiment is heat embossed with white embossing powder to match the snowy vibe of the card.

Welcome to this Focus Friday project. Today we are looking at using dies to create your own stencils. I used the Basic Border dies to make this stencil. I then used my blending brush to create this lovely border on the card. Above you can see the Melon Mambo version and below is the Bermuda Bay one. Which do you like best?

Do you Love Camping? Easy Birthday Card – Tree Lots Dies – Party Puffins – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demo – Lincoln UK.

I love making cards that are little scenes. This card uses the Tree Lots Dies that I got as a freebie during Sale-a-bration. They match the Trees for Sale stamp set in the new mini catalogue. It is a Christmas set but I wanted to use the dies in a non Christmas way. I have a few customers who are involved with the Guides, Brownies and Scouts. This card was made with them in mind.

measurements

  • Pool Party premade cardbase from Sale-a-bration
  • Old Olive Cardstock – 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″

I love the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper (DSP) as it has all these wonderful images that can easily be cut out to make a ton of embellishments. No need for an extra die cut pack. You can just use what you have already and have coordinating stuff. This paper also comes with a stamp and matching die set that will further extend the life of this collection and give you so many options to create.
