Just to Say You Are Amazing – Awesome Otters – Focus Friday – Watercolour Pencils – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up Demo – Lincoln UK

Welcome to the last Focus Friday blog of February. This week we are looking at using watercolour pencils with water painters to colour. As you remember this month our focus has been on colouring. We have looked at colouring with alcohol markers, watercolour pencils and blender pens and watercolouring with ink pads.

Watercolouring is a very forgiving medium. I’ve used the shimmery white paper here to withstand all the water. The pencils give you a lot of control and you can add as much or as little water as you choose.

Make a Card to Say Hello to a Friend – Friendly Hello – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln, UK.

Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana are two of my favourite colours. They go so well together alongside Pool Party. I’ve kept this card in those tones and love the outcome.

I myself love to watch crafting videos on YouTube. Normally I would just add my sentiment to this background without much embellishment. I’m trying to move out of my comfort zone. I’ve used two punches, the spring and the bough punch to create these embellishments in coordinating colours.

Welcome to another Focus Friday blog and video. Today we are focusing on debossing. When you emboss there are always two sides to each design, the front that is embossed and the back that is debossed. We are using that reverse side here today. This is the Dotty Hearts embossing folder. It is a mini one and is perfect for creating a panel on a card as I’ve done here.

Let’s Have Otter Fun – Simple Colouring – Card Tutorial – Awesome Otter – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK

Isn’t this little fellow cute? I love him!! Such a simple card but so pretty. I’ve coloured the otter using just two colours of Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers; Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake. There is no sentiment on this card on purpose so it can be used for whatever occasion you chose. Sometimes it’s good to have cards that can fit multiple purposes.

Penguin Place and the free DSP I got in SAB

Penguin Place and the free DSP I got in SAB – Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

Yes I know it’s a Christmas scene but it is penguins!!! A friend of mine said that penguins are just for Christmas so we will have penguins today. This card has a hidden little flap on the front of the card. It’s held closed with a magnet and has a little ribbon pull. So cute.

I got this paper free during Sale-a-Bration (SAB). It matches the Penguin Place stamp set and punch that is in the new mini catalogue. So cute!!! During SAB you can a free item for every £45 you spend. So you save as you spend, a win-win for me.

How to Make a Rainbow using Soft Pastels – Peaceful Moments Stamp Set – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

Do any of you remember a series on Tv called Rainbow Brite. I had the doll and few other bits if I recall correctly. I think I also did a tapestry of her but not sure where that is now. Rainbows are magic to me. There is a scientific reason why they happen but to see one in the sky is magic.

In the new catalogue Stampin’ Up! brought out some soft pastels and I’ve been dying to play with them. They are beautifully soft and creamy. I blended them with water and then went over the image again with pastel to get a better blend. It is definitely a learning curve and I know I am going to have fun learning and playing more with these new colouring mediums.

Hello Friend – Make a Fun Card for a Special Friend – Biggest Wish Stamp Set – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I love this bright, bold and fun card. It is right up my alley. I cut two pieces of designer series paper to the same size and then cut them into triangles. Both pieces were cut at the same time so they were exactly the same size and cut in exactly the same place. The little Polished Pink gems on the sentiment look like little rivets to me holding it in place.

I love yellow daisies. They look so happy and bright. My grandmother always had a yellow daisy bush in her garden back in South Africa. She used to pick some and have them in a little vase on the table.

I’ve mad this daisy look more 3D in a number of ways. The flower is actually four daisies of two sizes that I have punched out. They have then been run through an embossing folder and curled using a bone folder.

An Idea – How to use the Sailing Home Set – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

The “Sailing Home” stamp set is one I’ve had for a while but hardly ever used. I think it works well in this monochromatic card. I’ve stamped off with the boats to create a less bold image. The colour is night of navy and I used a marker in the same colour to add some lines around the boats and lighthouse. The sky and sea are just sponged gently in the same colour.

Isn’t this a pretty bag to place a special treat in. I love making gift bags and boxes and have a whole stack of them.
