Don’t these cupcakes look delicious? They are from the Pocket Thoughts stamp set and are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I created the background with various techniques using the colours Coastal Cabana and Pool Party. These colours make the cupcakes really pop from the background. Check out the video below for the full tutorial.

I don’t have a clue what to call this fancy fold. Do you? I found it on Pinterest when I was searching for ideas. I’ve called it a pop out card as the front panel pops out. It is not a complicated card to make. I would recommend you make a template for yourself before you make it. It helps you understand the construction.

The lovely paper is the Mediterranean Blooms designer series paper (DSP). The above design is lemons and below is oranges. Which do you like best?

This card came about as a customer wanted a male card. The Take to the Sky suite of products from Stampin’ Up! is perfect for those difficult men’s cards. This card was inspired by watching the red arrows fly over my house. We live in Lincoln, where they are based and often have them or other military aircraft flying overhead.

I love blue and pink together. Here I’ve paired Balmy Blue and Pretty in Pink. I’m happy with the way it turned out. I’m not sure what to call these little images. Are they rosettes, pinwheels, spirals? What would you call them?

Below is a slightly different version of the card. I’ve reversed the colour combination and changed the sentiment. The sentiments are from the Simply Said stamp set. It’s great basic sentiment stamp set to add to your stash.

Memory and More cards come in two sizes, 4″ X 6″ and 4″ X 3″. I’ve used both in the card above. The bigger card is larger than a normal card base so I’ve altered that measurement.

I love butterflies and was so happy to see this new butterfly set in the catalogue. These gorgeous butterflies are watercoloured using the Stampin’ Up! ink pads. If you are going to watercolour, always remember to use suitable paper. I have used Fluid 100 watercolour paper here. Basic White won’t stand up to water as well as Fluid 100 and you are liable to get pilling of your paper.

One trick I employed here is to black heat emboss my images before I watercoloured them. This helps to keep the colour in the lines and stop it flowing everywhere.

I love this bright floral bunch of flowers. These are all new in-colours. They work well together. The Flowers of Beauty stamp set is a two-step stamp set. The florals are stamped and die-cut as one element, giving you many individual florals to arrange as you wish.

I love these children on their pretend boat seeking out adventures. So cute!! I’ve built the scene to look as if they are at sea but we know it’s all in the imagination. I used to love making up stories as a child and playing games based on stories I read—different times, before computers.
