I love all the tones of purple on this card. Aren’t they gorgeous? This is a simple design. It has the “WOW” factor with minimal effort. I don’t have much of the Perennial Lavender paper left. I needed to find a way to stretch my supplies. It is paired here with some Fresh Freesia cardstock. The small strip of glimmer paper brings the whole design together.

If you are wondering about that butterfly, it’s a pre-made die-cut from the Paper Butterfly Accents set. It’s so pretty, don’t you agree?

Measurements

  • Gorgeous Grape Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Fresh Freesia Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper – 14.35cm X 5cm
  • Three Colour Glimmer Paper – 14.35cm X 1cm.

This card continues the theme of saying goodbye to the 2022 – 2024 in-colours. The colours featured here are Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis and Sweet Sorbet. I am going to miss them. They are gorgeous.

The Mini Envelope Pocket die cuts out this cute little pocket. It will fit a gift card or a tag. I’ve made it my focal point here with the tag for a hidden message.

I love the bright, spring feel of this card. It features Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party, these colours are retiring at the end of April. I will miss them. This week on my blog I am featuring all the retiring in-colours as a final goodbye.

This double z-fold card is easy to make. I’ve adjusted the measurements slightly so it is slightly smaller than a standard A6 card. This makes the scoring easier. The card below features the third retiring colour, Orchid Oasis.

I love bags and boxes that fold flat for easy storage. This is a rectangular box of quite a good size. It took me a while to figure out the measurements to make it from one sheet of A4 cardstock. I’m pleased with the way it turned out. We made this in April Craft & Chat and it was a hit.

I have this happy hedgehog birthday card to share today. This card is flat with no dimension except for the pearls. As the cost of postage is going up, I’ve been looking at making some cards that will go through as a normal letter. Even the addition of the pearls can sometimes increase the postage as it is too thick for a normal letter. I wanted to show with this card that you can make still cute cards with a minimum or no dimension that will go through at the cheapest rate of postage.

Change it Up – How to Colour on Crumb Cake Cardstock – Little Monkey – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

I’ve been watching videos on YouTube showing people colouring on kraft cardstock. I decided to give it a go myself. This card is coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers on Crumb Cake cardstock. I love how it turned out.

There are some points I would like to mention. Firstly, the colours show up differently on Crumb cardstock to Basic White cardstock. The colours can look darker and “wetter”. Let them dry and they change quite a bit. The colours lighten and become more defined. If you are unsure do a test on some scrap cardstock.

Spinner cards are such fun. You do need to watch the video to get the full effect. You can find the link below. This card features the Hot Air Balloon bundle. It is a two-step stamp which allows me to mimic the stripey paper in the design of the hot air balloon.

There are two sizes of balloons included in this set. I’ve used the smaller one here. You can also die-cut your balloons instead of stamping them first.

I love how this card turned out. It is darling, don’t you agree? This little turtle is so cute. This card is a mixture of stamped images and die cuts. Scene cards are some of my favourite cards to make. They do take a little longer to create but they are such fun to make.

The stamped images are coloured using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I’ve added shading to the die cuts using the matching ink colours and blending brushes. This adds dimension and depth to the die cuts so they don’t look so flat.
