Easy Thank You Card – Ornate Thanks – Embossing – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

This is a companion card to the gift box that I made in the previous blog post. They both use the “You’re a Peach” designer series paper (DSP). This is a really easy card to make but still has that wow factor due to the heat embossed sentiment. It’s heat embossed in gold embossing powder to match the gold metallic sheet that I’ve used a mat for both the sentiment and DSP.

measurements

  • Calypso Coral Cardstock – A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Basic White – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Gold Metalic Sheet – 14.85cm X 10cm
  • Your’re a Peach DSP – 13.85cm X 9.5cm

This is a really good size box and so sturdy. I love this “You’re a Peach” paper but found I haven’t used it for ages so I decided to rectify this. This has a matching card that will feature in the next blog post on Wednesday. This paper is so realistic I could almost smell the peaches in the room with me.

Welcome to this Focus Friday post. Today we are looking at using stencils to give a tone on tone effect on cards. You can see this effect in the picture above. It gives some added interest to the background of the card and helps makes the sentiment really pop. For extra interest, I have added a velum doily to the top and bottom of the sentiment. This is an extra layer of interest but you can still the background behind it.

This cute little gift box is a companion piece to the card I made in the previous blog post. It uses the gorgeous “In the Wild” designer series paper. The paper is all about the big cats, mainly tigers and leopards. I’ve focused on the tigers for both this box and the previous card.

I do hope that Stampin’ Up! will bring out another collection with animals from the veld such as elephants, zebras & giraffes. I loved seeing them in the national parks back in South Africa. If you didn’t know all my maternal family are back in South Africa so it holds a special place for me.

The In the Wild suite reminds me of the poem, The Tyger by William Blake. It’s a poem I’ve always loved. This suite is filled with big cats such as tigers and leopards. I’ve focused on the tiger to make this easel card. Just a point to note is that the dies do cut out some of the images in the paper. Great bonus!!

Learn How to Heat Embossing Through a Stencil – Focus Friday – Plenty of Patterns – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

Welcome to another Focus Friday post. Every month I chose a particular area of crafting. Each Friday in that month we explore a different technique in that area. Today we are looking at using heat embossing with your stencils or masks.

This is actually a very easy technique. I just have a few tips to share with you. Firstly clean your mask/stencil of Versarmark ink well so that it doesn’t dry on the stencil. Secondly, make sure you tape your stencil down to your cardstock with a low tack tape so that it doesn’t move around. Thirdly have a little paintbrush handy to brush off any excess powder.

I have to say I love seeing windmills as you explore the countryside. I went to Amsterdam back in 2017 for Stampin’ Up! Onstage Live and have tons of photos I want to still scrapbook. I think this windmill will make a cute embellishment on a page.

We actually have a windmill here in North Lincoln that dates back to 1798. I love driving by it and want to visit it next time it is open to the public. Another great photo for a scrapbook page.

Welcome to another Focus Friday project. Today we are looking at using embossing paste through a stencil. This cardstock started off as a plain piece of Gorgeous Grape card. Look how pretty it is now!! One tip is to wash your stencil straight away after using the embossing paste. It is so much easier to clean while the paste is still wet. If you like it dry it is hell to clean.

How to Use the Flowering Tulips Stamp Set – Tulip Dies – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

As I have said ad infinitum my favourite flowers are tulips. I love them. This bunch of tulips makes me so happy. I’ve made it into a mother’s day card as mother’s day is on 27th March here in the UK. The Flowering of Tulips stamp set is a two-step stamp set. I used the stamparatus to stamp it and made the stamping so easy.

measurements

  • Real Red Cardstock – A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Basic White – 14.35cm X 10cm. I cut this pannel down when I’ve made the card.
