How to Make A Poppy Thank You Card – Painted Poppies – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

This is a really simple card to make but it is simply stunning if I do say so myself. The stamp set is Painted Poppies and the other aptly enough is Poppy Parade. When the poppy suite came out in the mini catalogue last year, I was in love. I’ve used it numerous times and I will be keeping this set forever, even after it perhaps retires. I will link some of the other projects I’ve used it in below.

I stamped the image of the poppies twice to get a long enough panel and then coloured them using the Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. Isn’t great how everything matches in the world of Stampin’ Up!

More Poppies -Peaceful Poppies – Stampin’ Up!

Yes that is right, more poppies to share with you. I am truly in love with this suite of products and will be so sad to see the designer series paper retire in a few weeks time. The stamp sets and dies from the suite are continuing, much to my relief.

As I said, I love this paper. I know that I shouldn’t really buy a second pack as it will retire before I can make more projects to share with you but I want to have it so I don’t lose it. I am sure those paper hoarders among you, know what I mean.

This card is super simple to make. I love the bright vibrancy of the poppies. I debated for a while where to add a sentiment but I didn’t want to cover the images so I went with a small one in the bottom right hand corner that says many thanks. This is from the Itty Bitty Greetings set. This is a great set as it has a ton of different greetings for all occasion of cards. I find myself using it time and time again.

Measurements

  • A6 Old Olive Cardbase. This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Blackberry Bliss – 14.35m x 10cm
  • Peaceful Poppies DSP – 13.85cm x 9.5cm

What are your favourite flowers? I love all flowers. They are so beautiful, a vision of perfection. My favourite flower though is the tulip and I am glad to say the tulip stamp set and accompanying punch are carrying over to the new catalogue.

I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I am trying my best though it is not easy at times. It has made me realise how much we value our freedom and how precious it is. Also, how lucky we are to have had that freedom and all that we still have.

Packaging for Printed Poppy Candle – Stampin’ Up!

Yesterday I showed how I made this gorgeous printed poppy candle. Today I thought I would show you the packaging for the candle. I had created this lovely little candle and I thought it deserved nice packaging to make it a special gift.

Packaging for Printed Poppy Candle – Stampin’ Up!

In the world of Stampin’ Up! everything coordinates and this making a little gift so easy. I’ve used poppy parade ribbon, paper and ink here. The stamp is Butterfly Wishes and makes this lovely little tag. I’ve used the Poppy elements for the embellishment.

This is an 8″ X 6″ cello bag. It has no gusset but with a little manipulation I created one with some poppy parade card, The weight of the candle keeps everything in place.

As I already said I am in love with this suite or products. I do hope the stamps and dies don’t retire yet as I am not finished having fun as yet. I love the red poppies in the grass verge. They looks so vibrant and full of life. They make me happy which is never a bad thing.

Printed Poppy Candle – Painted Poppies

I have fallen in love with the Poppy suite of products in the Spring / Summer catalogue. Here I’ve used the Painted Poppies stamp set to create this printed poppy candle. I’ve not printed a candle in years and was so please with the way it turned out.

Printed Poppy Candle - Painted Poppies
Printed Poppy Candle – Painted Poppies

I’ve shown this candle in the packaging I created, making the packaging will be my next video. I’ve used a very simple white pillar candle that has been sitting in my stash for simply ages. I wanted to create a gift as of course, we can’t go shopping at the moment.

how did i do it?

I used some tissue paper from my stash to make this. If you have bought the shimmer detailed laser cut designer series paper (DSP) you will find tissue paper separating each page. This is a perfect way to upcycle it. I measured the circumference and height of the candle and then cut out a piece of tissue paper to match.

I’ve stamped using an archival quality ink such as stazon so it won’t run when heated. The colouring in did pose a problem to me as I was afraid that it might run when heated or bleed out of the lines. I decided just to use the Stampin’ Write Markers in the aptly named Poppy Parade. This worked perfectly!!! A word of warning though, it doesn’t bleed out of the lines but did go straight through the paper. I coloured in on my grid paper to stop my desk looking like a murder scene!!

Poppy Birthday Box – Peaceful Poppies

This poppy birthday box is a coordinating piece to the birthday card I posted below. I’ve used different patterns from the Peaceful Poppies designer series paper (DSP) to make this box. I think it turned out super cute. What do you think?

I especially love the pattern above with the red poppies against the blue background. It is so pretty. I’ve always thought blue and red go very well together.

The sentiment used here is the same as the card I posted on Wednesday. The stamp set is Peaceful Moments and has some great sentiments. I’ve used the circle punches so that you need no dies to make this box.

measurements

  • Poppy Parade – 8″ X 8″ scored at 2″ on all sides
  • Peaceful Poppies DSP – 7 1/16″ X 7 1/16″ scored at 1 1/2″ on all sides

I’ve made this box before using the Magnolia Lane DSP and Mossy Meadow cardstock last year and thought I would make it again. It is a very simple and easy box to make and can be made in bulk easily. I also must say I love the Poppy Parade textured weave ribbon. I have a few reels of it and just have not been using it so I want to change that too.
