I first saw this idea for a gift box on Pinterest. It took a couple of attempts to work out my measurements but it was well worth it. I love how it turned out. We made this in a recent card club and I decided to share it with you here as well.

As you may know, tulips are my favourite flower. I love all the colours and various forms, even when they are going over and the petals open out, they look gorgeous. This stamp set is Timeless Tulips. It has a matching punch making it super easy to use. I have stamped some images flat and then stamped punched out others to give the card added interest and dimension.

I am really looking forward to the flower this Spring. The crocuses and some daffodils are just starting to flower and it really makes my heart sing. It gives me hope that in all this darkness of winter there is light.

As you most probably already know I am in love with the Snowflake Splendour suite of products from Stampin’ Up! This bookmark features the Snowflake Splendour stamp set.

I have used it here to stamp my own patterned paper. The two colours I’ve used are Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. I was going to add Pacific Point blue but I felt it was too much and the two tones of purple worked well alone. The purple tri-coloured ribbon just finishes it off perfectly.

Stamping a blank piece of cardstock is a great way to create your own bespoke patterned paper in just the colours and design you wish. Everytime I do this I am so pleased with the results and wonder why I didn’t do more sooner.

Pop of Petals Bookmark – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve not been feeling well this week so I wanted to make simple projects. I like how to this bookmark has turned out using the Pop of Petals stamp set.

Pop of Petals Bookmark - Stampin' Up!
Pop of Petals Bookmark – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve used Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss. They are all from the same area of the colour wheel so match beautifully. The Pop of Petals stamp set a huge variety of flowers with of course the matching punch. I didn’t want any dimension as this is a bookmark so I just used the stamp set.

The tiny flowers you can see above actually come as a trio of stamps joined together but I wanted to use them separately. Therefore, I cut them. Shock and horror you may think but it doesn’t damage the stamps and you can see stamp them altogether if you so wish.

measurements

  • Blackberry Bliss – 7 1/2″ X 3 1/2″
  • Whisper White – 7″ X 3″

I love stamping to make my own patterned paper. You can totally customise it to your own tastes rather than being constrained by other’s taste.

Under my Umbrella – Stampin’ Blends Markers

I have this cute, bright and sunny card to share with you today. I knew I wanted to get “Under My Umbrella” the minute I saw it in the catalogue. The flowers growing in the wellies are just so dinky.

Under my Umbrella - Stampin' Up!
Under my Umbrella – Stampin’ Up!

I debated what colours to use in this card and eventually went for so saffron, balmy blue, highland heather and old olive. I think they make the card look like a summer’s day.

Everything is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I love the seamless colouring and easy shading of the Stampin’ Blends. What is your favourite colouring medium? I do love watercolouring but the Blends are great for quick and easy colouring too.

measurements

  • So Saffron A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • So Saffron Subtles Designer Series Paper – 14.35cm x 10cm

I can’t wait for spring and all the flowers to start coming out. The trees always look so bare without their leaves. I wanted to make a card to remind me of the sunny days that will hopefully come soon.

Grace’s Garden Floral Card Stampin’ Up!

I have this gorgeous card to share with you today featuring the Grace’s Garden stamp set and matching Garden Gate dies from Stampin’ Up!. I enjoyed creating this cottage garden scene. The purple flowers around the garden gate remind me of the wisteria over my lounge window.#

Grace's Garden Floral Card Stampin' Up!
Grace’s Garden Floral Card Stampin’ Up!

This card has a very shabby chic feel to it. I’ve embossed the very vanilla with the stone embossing folder from the sale-a-bration catalogue. The detail wasn’t showing up very well so I lightly sponged over it with Sahara Sand to bring out the details of the embossing and give it an aged appearance.

This card is actually based on one in the Spring / Summer catalogue. You cut the gate open in half to make this an interactive card but I decided against this as I wanted to place flowers in front of the gate.

The flowers are coloured in using the Stampin’ Write Markers. I scribbled some markers onto an acrylic stamping block and then picked up the colour using a blender pen.

measurements

  • Very Vanilla A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Very Vanilla cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm

I’ve combined two stamp sets to make this card. They are Barn Door and Grace’s Garden. They work well together I think. #

Dancing in the Rain – Art Journal Page

I have a new art journal page to share with you today. This is a companion piece to my previous page which I will link below. This page is a couple dancing in the rain in the evening. My previous one was a girl swinging in the sunset.

Dancing in the Rain art journal page
Dancing in the Rain art journal page

I used our fluid 100 watercolour paper again which takes colour beautifully. Watercolour painting is very forgiving and I find soothing to the soul. I’ve used reinkers here to paint with. The colours are Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Night of Navy. They blend to create this gorgeous purple colour.

I’ve been interested in mixed media for a number of years now. Mixed media is really the application of a mixture of mediums and techniques to create an art piece. I’ve used stamping, watercolouring and stencilling here.

I love to use watercolour but also enjoy painting with acrylic paints. Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! don’t sell acrylic paints but you can mix our reinkers with gesso to create some of your own.

The stamp set I used is one fell in love with the minute I saw it, Silhouette Scenes. It comes with a matching die set as a bundle for a saving of 10% which is always good.

A Sweet Treat Tin

Hello,

We have been lucky in Lincoln, all the snow from the last few weeks missed us. We had a light dusting but nothing like last year. I am very pleased as was in no mood to be snowed in again. Life has been busy has usual. I’ve been busy sorting out my car. She is now serviced and road tax and insurance paid. I am so pleased with my insurance as I’ve managed to save about £500 on it compared to last year.

I have a cute project to share with you today. I find these little metal tins online and thought they would make a lovely treat tin. They are big enough to hold a good amount of skittles or smarties.

The gingham gala paper measures 5.5cm x 4cm. I do love this set of designer series paper (DSP) It is a lovely mixture of pastel colours and makes me think of spring and all it’s joys.

The ribbon was from Sale-a-bration but is sady sold out now. You could use a number of other ribbons from the annual catalogue or dye a whisper white ribbon with a reinker. Let me know if you what to know how and I will make a video.

Thank you for stopping by and please hop over to my YouTube account and subscribe to keep up to date with my videos.

Until next time, Enjoy Being Creative!!
