Candy Canes – How to Heat Emboss a Background – Christmas to Remember – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

Gosh, I’m so pleased with how this turned out. I wanted to make this card ever since I first saw the Candy Canes stamp set in the catalogue. The contrast between the white heat embossing and the red background is so striking.

Heat embossing is very easy to do but always feels like magic to me. This dull powder becomes glossy and beautiful as it melts under the heat tool. To make this card I used a larger panel than I needed of real red so that I could cut it down to get or of any imperfections around the edges. Please do watch the video and try it yourself. Who has dreamt of flying into space? Those of you of a certain age will remember making rockets with Fairy washing up liquid bottles. Unfortunately they have now changed the shape but many a child impatiently waited for the bottle to finish to make a rocket. I loved playing like that, we didn’t need lots of toys as a good imagination did the trick.

I love anything that has a mixed-media vibe to it. So much fun to play with colours, different textures and techniques. This background started off as a plain piece of basic white cardstock, can you believe it?

I’ve combined the embossed heat resist technique and blending brushes. It creates this gorgeous card. The butterflies are all one stamp set; Butterfly Brilliance.

Make a Card Special – Heat Embossed Sentiment – Fine Art Floral Suite – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

There are no other words for it, this paper is simply gorgeous. It is the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (DSP). The paper is busy and therefore if you did too much to it I feel it would detract from the beauty of the paper. I finished the card off with a simple white heat embossed sentiment from the accompanying stamp set, Art Gallery. It is matted on a strip of gold foil sheet for that elegant feel.

I am part of a larger team of demonstrators here in the UK. In our group page we have every Monday, something called Mojo Monday. Each Monday once of us will either post a colour challenge or a sketch which we all interpret with our own creations. This week the colour challenge was to use Basic Grey, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. This was my creation.

Simple Blending & Heat Embossing Birthday Card – Happiest of Birthdays – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I’ve been having fun playing with my new blending brushes. Initially I ordered one pack which has three brushes but recently order two more packs I now a brush for each colour in the colour wheel as well as grey and brown. I just clean them off after use on a towel and they are good to go.

I used three different blues to create this background starting with lightest, Balmy Blue, then Pacific Point and finally Night of Navy. Layering the colours always creates extra depth and interest in the background I feel.

Oh wow, I simply love this card. It has such a wow factor and it’s so easy to do. The background is just one stamp that I have heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Don’t you love it? Heat embossing can be such a forgotten technique and yet it is magic everytime you see it. This dull powder turning to something beautiful, just like here. I heat embossed the sentiment so that everything matches. So simple and yet so elegant.

I love to heat emboss. It is such fun to be able to make these shiney cards. The ornaments are from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set that carried over from last year. They have a set of two matching punches making this card very quick and super simple to make with no added tools needed. I love heat embossing as a little powder goes along way so you can get not only such great value for you money but the chance to create this magic over and over again.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas. This is a great Christmas sentiment stamp set and I just want to give it a big shout out as it will become a staple in your Christmas cardmaking.

How to make a Heat Embossed Christmas Card – Christmas Means More – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

I love this sentiment from the Christmas Means More stamp set. It’s bold, easy to use and what’s more it really says how a lot of us are feeling this year. Here in England we are in lockdown again and I think whatever happens Christmas will be special this year.

I’ve heat embossed the sentiment using gold embossing powder and paired it with the Tis the Season designer series paper (DSP). It makes for a simple but stunning Christmas card. I love heat embossing. It is still magic to see this dull powder turn into some glossy and pretty.

I love the magic of heat embossing. I remember the awe the first time I did it. This dull powder turning into this glossy, metallic. beautiful colour. It is pure magic to me. I’ve used this stamp set before but wanted to use it again as I love the idea of the birthday sentiment enclosed in this balloon of flowers.

Do you not think this paper is gorgeous? It’s from Plaid Tidings and I am use this set of papers over and over again. They are such pretty patterns and so versatile for any occasion.
