I normally struggle with shaker cards but this one was super easy to make and I was over the moon with how it turned out. How pretty is this card? These shaker mason jar domes are seriously cute. I’m definitely buying a few more packs to hoard. Everything is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. Colouring in is so therapeutic. It keeps me out of mischief for hours!!

The stamp set is Jars of Love. It comes with many different bunches of flowers and even the stems to stamp in the jar. I’ve fussy cut the flowers out and of course there is a matching mason jar punch.

When I first saw this stamp set I wasn’t in love but I’ve changed my mind after making this card. It turned out so cute!! It is one of the free sets from Sale-a-bration. The image is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. The little pop of red in the image just lifts the whole image.

Make it Home for Christmas Card – Stampin’ Up! Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

Isn’t this a cute little scene card. I love cards where I can build a scene like this. The Coming Home stamp set has all these lovely houses in it that are perfect for not only a Christmas card but also for a new home or welcome home card. The matching die set includes this useful snowbank / hill scene with the trees which just sets the scene perfectly

The images are all coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I added a line in a black marker to the trees and then coloured them in so they look they are covered in snow. I’ve used the light Soft Sea Foam marker to create shadows in the snow as well.

Toadstools anyone? Walk in the Woods Card

I love the vibrant hit from the toadstools in this card. They really do make this card. I love these woodland style stamps, most probably because I love the countryside. It was one of the reasons I moved out of London.

Toadstools anyone? Walk in the Woods Card
Toadstools anyone? Walk in the Woods Card

Where we are in Lincoln is fabulous as it’s only 7 minutes drive and you are in the heart of the city and 7 minutes the other way you are entering the countryside. I love it!! Having lived in London all my life and I really appreciate how easy it is here to get out of the city. Those of you who have lived in London will know it can take over an hour just to get of London at times.

Everything here has been coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I do find colouring in so relaxing. I can spend hours playing with colour and mixing and blending it. The Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers so easy to blend and I love that they leave no lines when you colour.

Mr Mallard – Colouring with Pencils – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve always loved going to the park and watching the ducks. I think it’s so cute watching Mr Mallard chasing after Mrs Mallard or sometimes the reverse!! It is so cute watching Mrs Mallard giving swimming lessons to all the little ducklings.

Mr Mallard - Colouring with Pencils - Stampin' Up!
Mr Mallard – Colouring with Pencils – Stampin’ Up!

The male and female of the species are easy to identify as the male as this distinctive colour on his head. It is especially noticeable in the spring when they are mating. You quite often see a couple of males chasing after one female. I should be so lucky!!

I’ve used the watercolour pencils here to colour in this scene. After I started colouring I decided not to blend them with water but just used them as normal colouring pencils. I followed the same rules as colouring with alcohol markers and used the lighter colours as a base and to blend out the other colours. It was fun to do and showed there are so many ways we can use stash.

Up in the Clouds – Stampin’ Up! – Card Tutorial

Sometimes I think, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to fly, to be up in the clouds and free from all the worries down on earth. It is nice thought but not really possible. I made a card with hot air balloon instead to compensate. I hope you like it.

Up in the Clouds - Stampin' Up! - Card Tutorial
Up in the Clouds – Stampin’ Up! – Card Tutorial

The stamp set here is called Above the Clouds and has the matching hot air balloon punch. Unfortunately, this set is retiring on 2nd June 2020. If you like it then please get it now before it sells out. You can view the full retirement offering on in my shop.

I love all the blues in this card. They are Night of Navy and Seaside Spray. Thankfully we are losing neither this year. I have used the Stampin’ Blends to colour everything in. You may notice the blends are on the retirement list but don’t worry they aren’t going away. Instead of selling them singularly we are only going to sell the duo pack. This means you can get perfect shading everytime.

measurements

  • Night of Navy A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Seaside Spray – 14.35cm x 10cm

The retirement list went live on 22nd April. As always I am excited to see the new catalogue but sad to see some old favourites retiring. I’ve marked out all my retired items in my catalogue and will be pulling them from my shelves to make space for new goodies.

Down the Garden Shed Card Tutorial – Stampin’ Up!

I am calling this card “Down the Garden Shed”. It uses the aptly named Garden Shed stamp set. I loved making this card. Colouring and especially watercolouring is so relaxing for me. I love getting lost in the colours and the blending of the colours.

Down the Garden Shed Card Tutorial - Stampin' Up!
Down the Garden Shed Card Tutorial – Stampin’ Up!

This scene is so lovely and peaceful. In the current turbulent and worrying times, I think we all need a peaceful haven and this looks like a perfect spot. My mother, in particular, loves her garden. When times are tough or we had bad news the garden is her retreat and therapy. I love walking in nature and watching the natural world go about the job of living. I find watching plants grow and the beautiful flowers they produce gives me such hope.

measurements

  • Thick Whisper White A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Call Me Clover – 14.35cm x 10cm

I personally love these large image stamp sets with these rural and idyllic scenes to colour in. Do you like them or do you find them to ideal and prosaic?

I bought this stamp set back in June last year so I am pleased I’ve got to use it. I am still on my goal to use everything I buy rather than it sitting lost in my stash forever after. Do you have any crafting goals? Let me know in the comments.

The Gang’s All Meer Card – Stampin’ Up!

I have a card to share with you today using the sale-a-bration offering stamp set “The Gang’s All Meer”. These adorable little meerkats are coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers.

The Gang’s All Meer Card – Stampin’ Up!

Aren’t these little guys so cute? I’m surprised to see how obsessed people are with meerkats as they are not animals we find in the UK. As some of you may know my mother was born in South Africa. My grandparents were farmers in the Orange Free State and we had meerkats on the farm. You may not know but meerkats are insectivores which is great. They hoover up all these nasty creepy crawlies but also do like eggs. My Granny kept hens for personal use and to sell the eggs. You had to be wary of the meerkats as they loved to get into the hen house and steal the eggs. The naughty little rascals!!

In this card, I’ve used the main stamp and just repeat stamped it across the card to get a whole gang of meerkats. I love colouring in and found it so therapeutic colouring in all these little guys.

Hanging Ornaments – Birds of a Feather

I have these super cute hanging ornaments to share with you today using the Birds of a Feather stamp set. These ornaments are very quick to make and are an easy way to occupy the kids for a few hours.

Hanging Ornaments - Birds of a Feather
Hanging Ornaments – Birds of a Feather

This last weekend was the Christmas Market here in Lincoln. I wanted to go on Thursday but the weather was foul so we ended up going on Saturday. It was very busy but I got some photos and it was fun looking at all the craft stalls. I saw some of these wooden ornaments for sale but none were stamped so I thought I would share mine with you.

I am thinking of taking a stall next year in the craft section of the market and wanted your opinion on my projects. Do you think these ornaments are good enough to sell and secondly do you think anyone would buy them?

I got these blank ornaments on Amazon and stamped them using Stazon ink. They are coloured in using our Stampin’ Write Markers. I used a Signa Uniball white pen to colour the trims white. I did stamp both sides of them so they look pretty from any angle.

Father Christmas delivering Presents – Card Tutorial

I love this Father Christmas Card. I think he is so cute here delivering his presents to all the good boys and girls while they sleep in their cabin the woods.

Father Christmas delivering Presents - Card Tutorial
Father Christmas delivering Presents – Card Tutorial

The stamp set is Holly Jolly Christmas from the Night Before Christmas Suite or products. I love this suite and have used this paper previously to make a gorgeous mini album which I will link below.

The Father Christmas is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. This makes for bright, bold and easy colouring in. He is cut out using the matching Holly Season Dies. The sentiment is also cut using this die and then adhered using Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue. You can also use adhesive sheet but unfortunately, we no longer sell this.

You might be able to see that the Father Christmas has a shimmer to his white trim. It is really difficult to show on camera but it is there I promise you. This is done with the Crystal shimmery effects which give a raised shimmery feel to this white trim.
