World of Good Adventure Card – Stampin’ Up!

The World of Good speciality designer series paper is lovely. It has brass foiling which matches are brass foiling sheets perfectly. The colours are muted and perfect for male cards as well.

The supplies used in this card are from a suite of products. The stamp set and matching dies coordinate perfectly with the paper, embossing folder and ribbon. I love blue, it’s my favourite colour. The colour here is Misty Moonlight which I love as it’s not as deep as Night of Navy. There are two globe images in the die and stamp set, one features the Americas and the other Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. I love that between the two, all the continents are covered.

Fantastic Mrs Fox and Cub – Wildly Happy

I have this gorgeous fox card to share with you. As a child I loved the book “Fantastic Mr Fox” so this is my fantastic Mrs Fox and her cub.

I love this little fox image. I stamped her memento black ink so that I could colour her in with the Stampin Blend alcohol markers. Colouring in is so therapeutic don’t you think? I can sit for hours just playing with colour. It is why I love painting so much.

The colour used here is Cajun Craze. I don’t think I’ve used this colour for a card before. Bad me!! It is a great colour and would be fabulous for autumnal cards. This little fox is from the Wildly Happy stamp set. I was so glad it carried over as it has a cute image of two little elephants. As someone of you may know my mother is from South Africa and so I’ve been to the game parks and seen them up close and personal.

Tucked in Lid Cute Gift Box – Stampin’ Up!

I have a cute little gift box with a tucked in lid to share with you today. This is a perfect size for a piece of jewelry or even some charms for a favourite charm bracelet.

This three tone purple ribbon is lovely. I never used it when it first came out but I’ve changed that now. Do you like it? This box is very easy to make. I made a template and once you have a template you can make as many as you like. You can store them flat and just seal up the base when you want to use them. Here is the template.

Stained Glass Effect Card – Stampin’ Up!

Hello again. I’m back with another card to share with you. I’m calling this my stained glass effect card as I feel the back strips between each segment are like the black lead work on a stained glass window.

As you may know both Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana are favourite colours of mine. I’ve used them here together and they go rather well don’t you think? This card was inspired by a card by upline Amanda Fowler did with us in team training. I’m very pleased with how it turned out and am going to do a few more using different colour combinations. I will share them with you as well.

I use the Tombow multipurpose liquid glue to stick everything down on this card. Oh Boy!!! Did I get glue everywhere? I had it on my fingers, my craft mat, the cardstock, my silicone mat, etc…. I think you get the picture. Wet glue and me, don’t’ always get on. I have a bad habit of sticking my fingers in the glue!!!

It’s a Dog’s Life – Pampered Pets – Stampin’ Up!

Normally if you say “It’s a Dog’s Life” you mean someone is having a miserable time of it. However when I see the the two little dogs that life up the road off on their walks, I think actually a dog’s life doesn’t sound too bad at times.

This dog image is from the Pampered Pets stamp set which in turn is part of the Pampered Pets suite of products. This suite includes designer series paper (DSP), stamp set and matching dies, charms and of course ribbon. I love the suite and it is perfect for both dog and cat lovers.

This little doggie reminds me of Jock from the film Lady and the Tramp. I love him. He is so cute!!! Of course he has a bling collar, what self respecting dog wouldn’t!!!

Hello Sunshine, Sunflower Celebration – Birthday

It is a lovely sunny day here in Lincoln as I write this. “Hello Sunshine”, therefore, seems an appropriate title for this blog post. I love sunflowers. There is one beautiful one in a garden in the next road. They are beautiful as they reflect the joy of the sun and of course they are great source of food for the birds.

Isn’t this a great stamp set? This is the second time I’ve used it and I am going to do lots more with it. I am so happy with the way this card turned out. The sunflower is so happy and jolly. I coloured the petals in using a marker and blender pen. It is a great trick for colouring in.

Strips – Using Your Scraps – Stampin’ Up!

I love being able to use up my scraps. This card uses strips of patterned paper cut at wonky angles to create this great card. A great sentiment is all you need to finish off this card.

This paper is the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (DSP). It is so pretty and I really enjoying using it time and time again. I’ve started to plan my mini album with this DSP to hold all my summer flower pictures from our own garden and all the surrounding villages.

I’ve long made cards using scraps but my upline Amanda Fowler showed me this technique using wonky cut pieces of paper and leaving gaps between each strip. It is quiet effective don’t you think?

I love driving around in the summer and seeing all the pretty gardens. The village of Nettleham, about 10 minutes from us is especially pretty. The local garden nursery sponsors hanging baskets outside various establishments and they always look amazing.

Shaker Die Cut Birthday Card Stampin’ Up!

Hello again, I have this shaker die cut birthday card to share with you today. I’m never happy with the shakey shakey cards I make but am determined to keep trying until I perfect it. This is my attempt today.

This card took ages to make. I struggled to come up with something I liked and I am still in two minds about it. Do you like? The die set is aptly named Happy Dies. I do like the Happy the die that cuts out the word. Next, I think I will try this die as an inlaid die cut.

I used the silver strips to cover up the foam tape on the sides of the card. One thing I do like is how well the balloons have stamped out. They do look happy and jolly.

Things are fairly quiet here in Lincoln. I am writing this post on the 10th July even though it is going to go up later. Yesterday was my mother’s birthday. It was very quiet as we just stayed home. Neither of us is comfortable going out to eat under the current circumstances. We are both vulnerable and so we are taking these carefully and slowly.

Cute Little Critter Magnet – Special Someone

I have this magnet featuring this cute little critter. How sweet is it? I made this to give to my mother, whose birthday was on the 9th July. Simple and sweet. I love the little pop of colour from the Magenta Madness coloured butterflies.

To me, this little critter is a squirrel. As a child I used to love watching and feeding the squirrels in Kensington Gardens. They were mainly in the flower walk and were so tame to eat the nuts out of your hand. All hell broke out though if two of them went for the same nut and they used to chase each other up and down the trees.

I don’t seem many squirrels here in Lincoln but there are a couple that frequent our garden from time to time. Unfortunately, they are all grey ones. I would love to see a red squirrel in person. In the UK the grey squirrel has taken over and you can only find the red ones mainly in Scotland.

I bought the magnet base online and then measured my piece of whisper white to the same size as the internal paper in the magnet. It makes for quick and easy project and would be great for kids.

Doggy Curvy Keepsake Box – Stampin’ Up!

I’ve this super cute doggy curvy keepsake box. I’ve not used the mini curvy keepsake box much and decided this was the perfect time for it’s revival.

I love how this has turned out. The little doggie image is from the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper. It matches the Pets dies which not only cut out a cat and dog image from the DSP but of course the matching stamp set. How cool is that!!

Here is the cat version of the box. I am more a cat person that a dog person but do love both. In regards these cute boxes I do prefer how the dog one turned out. Which do you prefer?

The curvy keepsake box is made from half a sheet of A4 cardstock. The colour I’ve used here is real red as it matches the colour in the Playful Pets DSP. These boxes are so dinky and they would be perfect to hold a little gift. I was thinking of a little dog or cat charm to add to a charm bracelet for a special someone.
