Looking for a fun and seasonal way to celebrate a birthday? This cute autumnal birthday card featuring the Fluffy Squirrel Stamp Set is perfect! With its sweet woodland theme and warm colours, it’s sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Fluffy Squirrel Stamp Set and Punch

The star of this project is the Fluffy Squirrel Stamp Set with its coordinating punch. This is a two-step stamp set which means you first stamp the outline of the squirrel and then add colour and detail with the second stamp. It’s quick, easy, and gives such a lovely finished look.

For my card, I stamped the squirrel and then used the punch to cut it out perfectly. I also added a little tree stump which I fussy cut to complete the woodland scene.

Background Papers – Thoughtful Journey and Beautiful Bokeh

To create the soft, autumnal backdrop, I used the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper for the scene behind the squirrel. I love how it gives a watercoloured look without needing to paint it yourself.

For the card base background, I layered in the Beautiful Bokeh Paper, which adds texture and depth. Together, these papers give the card a dreamy, woodland feel—ideal for autumn birthdays.

Finishing Touches

The sentiment “Go Nuts! It’s your birthday” works perfectly with the playful squirrel. I added a few embellishments for a touch of sparkle, keeping the design simple but eye-catching.

This card is a great way to use autumn colours and stamp sets that work well for both men’s and women’s birthdays. The squirrel brings fun, the background brings warmth, and the finished card is both seasonal and versatile.

Round We Go. Fun Two Step Stamping Card – Make it Now – Birthday Card – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK.

Looking for a bright and bold card idea? The Round We Go stamp set delivers eye-catching results using a simple two-step stamping technique. Today, I’m sharing two joyful birthday cards that show how versatile and playful this set can be—perfect for any celebration!

What is Two-Step Stamping?

Two-step stamping involves layering two or more stamps to build depth, detail, and dimension. In these cards, I’ve used bold circular bursts as the base image and layered a second coordinating stamp to complete the look. It’s an easy way to add texture and vibrance without needing complicated techniques.

Card One: Cool Tones with Coastal Vibes

This version features a fresh and cool colour palette: Pretty Peacock, Coastal Cabana, and Lost Lagoon. The combination creates a calm yet festive vibe, ideal for birthdays that call for something slightly more understated but still fun. A scattering of stamped stars and enamel dots finishes the background, adding that extra pop of cheer.

Card Two: Bright Bursts of Colour

If bold and bright is more your style, this version in Shaded Spruce, Poppy Parade, and Cherry Cobbler is for you. The red hues really bring the celebratory bursts to life, while the green centres and stamped sentiments in Shaded Spruce tie everything together beautifully.

Measurements

  • Shaded Spruce / Pretty Peacock Cardstock – A6 Card Base – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half.
  • Basic White Cardstock – 14.35cm X 10cm X 2 pieces

Sentiment Styling

Both cards feature sentiments from the same set: “HIP HIP HOORAY!” and “HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY”. These are matted on Gold Foil Sheet to help them pop and mounted with dimensionals to give them lift and interest on the card front. The font is crisp and modern—perfect for any age or gender.

Why You’ll Love This Card

This is one of those layouts that you can easily recreate in endless colour combinations. The design is great for batch-making birthday cards, and the two-step stamping technique ensures your cards look professional with very little effort.

Whether you’re new to stamping or looking for a quick project with stunning results, the Round We Go stamp set is a brilliant choice.

Perfectly Pears. How to Create a Range of Coloured Pears – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demo – Lincoln UK

Today I’m sharing a deliciously fun card featuring the Perfectly Pears stamp and die set. Whether you love fruit-themed designs or enjoy experimenting with colour techniques, this project offers a simple way to add depth and interest to your stamped images.

The Perfectly Pears set is a two-step stamp set, which means it includes both an outline stamp and a solid fill stamp. This gives you the perfect opportunity to get creative with layering and shading.

Creating Pear-fect Colour Blends

To get the rich, realistic tones on these pears, I used a technique that’s both easy and effective. I stamped the outline image first in a darker colour—in this case, Pecan Pie. For the fill layer, I used a lighter shade, Darling Duckling, and added depth by applying a bit more Pecan Pie with a sponge dauber.

By dabbing the darker ink around the edges or where the shadow might naturally fall, I was able to create a soft, blended look that gives the pear more dimension. The dauber technique also gives you control, so you can build the shading gradually.

  • Basic White Cardsock – 14.35cm X 10cm
  • Painterly Pears designer series paper (DSP) – 14.35cm X 10cm

Coordinating the Design

The background paper, full of floral and pear motifs, adds a lovely vibrant feel and ties the whole card together. I mounted everything onto a rich green base, layered with a delicate paper doily for texture. The sentiment was stamped in green and cut into a banner, layered with a second accent banner underneath for a touch of contrast.

Different colour combos

You can see from the enclosed colour chart by fellow demonstrator Sally Poole just how many colour combinations you can create using this stamp set. Try pairing Old Olive with Mossy Meadow, or Daffodil Delight with Flirty Flamingo for something more playful.

I love floral stamp sets. This is a new one from the current online exclusives. It is a two-stamping set, allowing you to use the second stamp to “colour” the image or colour it with a medium of your choice. There is a matching die set and embossing folder. The embossing folder is one of the newer hybrid folders. This means that the die-cut images match the images in the embossing folder.

I like the combination of blues and reds in this card, although close to each on the colour wheel, they are both primary colours and compliment each other well. Gingham is one of my favourite patterns, what is yours? Artful Amaryllis is a two-step stamp set. This makes for quick and easy colouring of images. You can of course colour them yourself as I’ve done in this card.

I loved this stamp set the minute I saw it in the catalogue. The coordinating Lilly Pond Lane designer series paper (DSP) makes this scene easy to create. I used the Deckled Rectangle dies as a window into my scene. The story I told myself when making this card was the one duck wishing the other a happy birthday.

The sentiment is white heat embossed on the DSP. You can see it but it doesn’t detract from the ducks.

As some of you know I design my cards weeks ahead of them going “live” on my blog. I was watching the Chelsea Flower Show and as you may know, my maternal family is from South Africa. The South African stand got a Gold Medal and Best Stand in the Great Pavilion. This was the inspiration behind this card.
