Embrace the Imperfect – Make a Christmas Card – Holly Jolly Wishes – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK

I love this card as the strips of paper are meant to be wonky. The imperfect lines make this card look fabulous. I cut the strips at different angles with no measuring, no right or wrong. I just went for it. There is a little gap between each strip so they really pop from each other. The large sentiment and some foil sheet and bingo, you have a really great card.

How to use Gilding Flakes with Stencils – Christmas

How to use Gilding Flakes with Stencils – Christmas – Perfectly Plaid – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK

I was so excited when the gilded flakes came out and couldn’t wait to use them. Of course, I did and then put them away and forgot about them. I was watching a video about gilding flakes and thought I need to pull them out and use them again so I did. Here is what I came up with.

I tacked my piece of basic white cardstock down to the stencil with low tack tape so it wouldn’t move on me. Next, I used versamark ink through the stencil, removed the stencil and applied heat & stick powder. Remember not to overheat the heat and stick powder, move on to the next section as soon as it’s melted. The gilding flakes stick to the heat & stick powder. Buff away the excess flakes and there you go!!

Make a Candy Cane Pouch for Christmas – Holly Jolly Wishes – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

I make one of these candy cane pouches each year and this is my offering this time. I hope you like it. It is very easy to make and a lovely little gift to any house guest over Christmas.

I’ve used the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) which has lovely small patterns perfect for small projects such as these. I should warn you though to never eat any sweets, chocolates or candy canes you find in my craft room as they have been used and reused in project samples and are well out of date!! These candy canes are from last year. The good stuff is kept in the pantry.

Using a Sentiment to Make a Background

Using a Sentiment to Make a Background – Holly Jolly Wishes – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Lincoln UK.

I just used one simple sentiment, repeatedly stamped to make this background. It’s quite effective. I stamped using versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This gives a tone on tone effect but also some dimension to the background. The focal image is a journalling card from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memory & More pack. Easy card to make and easy to repeat.

I love the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper (DSP) as it has all these wonderful images that can easily be cut out to make a ton of embellishments. No need for an extra die cut pack. You can just use what you have already and have coordinating stuff. This paper also comes with a stamp and matching die set that will further extend the life of this collection and give you so many options to create.

I will confess this wasn’t my idea. I was struggling with an idea for a little gift box and so of course I went hunting on Pinterest for inspiration. So, I saw this cute gift box and this is my version. Thank you so much to whoever thought of this first, I love it.

What sweets or chocolates would you put in this cutie? I have to say I don’t eat much chocolate or sweets unless I’m having a period of low blood sugar called a hypo. I’m a type 1 diabetic by the way. I never can match my insulin to the sugar in sweets so just avoid it. It’s just easier for me since I don’t have a sweet tooth. If I had to chose I would put in celebrations though. Let me know your choices!

This card is stunning. I love heat embossing. It never loses its magic. This dull powder turning into something glossy and shiny. So pretty!! The sentiment is from the fabulous Holly Jolly Wishes which I am using a lot. I love all the sentiments. They are so versatile for an array of cards, bags, boxes and other projects.

I gutted the green foil sheet with a small stitched rectangular die so that I could save the spare for a future project. As crafters we hate to waste such gorgeous paper, don’t we?

I love this little gift box. It’s something different from the usual. I made another version using the Sweet Symmetry designer series paper (DSP). This one uses the Tidings of Christmas DSP. Once you get the hang of making them they are so easy to make and replicate in bulk. The Cherry Cobbler and Gold Ribbon just makes this box really sing for Christmas don’t you think?

This is actually one die cut. It is pretty!! This is the Christmas Pinecones dies. You can you pieces of this die-cut as layering elements on scrapbooking pages or cards as well. You could also cut it out of various coloured cardstocks and layer them together to make a wreath. So many options!! This is die-cut from the Garden Green patterned paper. I used an adhesive sheet to make adhering it easy.

Make a Drawer Style Christmas Gift Box

Make a Drawer Style Christmas Gift Box – Heartwarming Hugs – Holly Jolly Wishes – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

This is a cute twist on a traditional gift box. It is easy to make and is a nice hidden surprise for someone. I added a little ribbon pull to make it easier to pull out. The little treat is some love hearts sweets nestled in crinkle paper. You can decorate the inside and outside of the box if you wish though I’ve only done the outside.

Have you started to prepare for Christmas? I’ve started on my cards already and am also make a couple of mini albums too. I only have my mother to buy presents for her and she is super easy to buy for her. My family are all in South Africa and Australia and so it’s not so easy to send presents to South Africa in particular.
