How to add Extra Detail to a Stamped Image

I have this gorgeous card to share with you today using very natural and neutral colours. The stamp set is Enjoy the Moment. This was a free set I got in my convention bag last November. Onstage was a virtual event from the comfort of our own homes but still loads of fun. This card is based on one demonstrated to us.

I have stamped using Crumb Cake ink and then added shadows and extra detail using the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend Alcohol markers over the top. I’ve also the blue surround to give depth to the image.

measurements

  • Crumb Cake A6 Cardbase – This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half
  • Early Espresso Designer Series Paper (DSP) – 14.35cm X 10cm

Plaid Birthday Card – Stampin’ Up!

This plaid birthday card is super easy and simple to make. I love the colours on this project as I think the Cherry Cobbler red really pops against the kraft Crumb Cake Colour.

Plaid Birthday Card - Stampin' Up!
Plaid Birthday Card – Stampin’ Up!

This card came together very quickly and is perfect for that quick birthday card on the run. As you know I love cards with these big, bold sentiments. They make for simple cards but they also really stand out.

I love designer series paper (DSP) like this one, Plaid Tidings. It so versatile, in that in can be used for all events, Christmas, Birthday, Celebrations etc… Being British, this is also a very traditional design in the UK.

I do love crafting. This last few weeks I’ve been doing quite a bit and really helps to lift my spirits. There is nothing better than giving a handmade card to someone and see their face light up in pleasure at receiving it.

Poppy Moments – Die Cut Card – Stampin’ Up!

I absolutely love how this card turned out using the Poppy Moments set of dies. The dies allow you to cut out both the solid image and the highlights allowing you to create these realistic flowers and leaves.

Poppy Moments - Die Cut Card - Stampin' Up!
Poppy Moments – Die Cut Card – Stampin’ Up!

In the UK, red poppies are a symbol of remembrance. I think personally they are also a symbol of the fact the life goes on. I love seeing the poppies in the grass verges in fields every year. The red poppies are so bold and vibrant and are a beautiful pop of colour against the green grass.

This card is perfect for someone who doesn’t like to stamp much as the die cuts do all the talking. I’ve used Real Red and the aptly named Poppy Parade for the poppies. The leaves are Old Olive and Shaded Spruce. I used Crumb Cake as the background colour as I felt white or black was too stark a contrast. The Crumb Cake is a lovely kraft neutral.

Dashing Deer Christmas Card Tutorial

Here is another simple card featuring a cute dashing deer. The Dashing Deer and Detailed Deer dies are in the main catalogue. I love these deer which are beautifully intricate and real stars.

I have used “Very Vanilla” cardstock as the background colour as it felt less harsh than whisper white against the crumb cake of the deer. The real red flowers give the whole card a pop of colour.

Measurements

  • Real Red A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half)
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock – 14.35cm x 10cm

Back home in South Africa, I love seeing the antelope and buck in the game reserves. My favourite is the Impala. They are so graceful as they run across the Veldt. It is truly a beautiful thing to behold.

Happy Tails – A Card for Dog Lovers

I have a very simple and easy doggy card to share with you using the Happy tails set from Stampin’ Up!. This set has a great matching punch. I love punches as they are so easy to use and make cardmaking so quick and easy.

Happy Tails stamp set, perfect for a dog lovers card.
“Happy Tails” stamp set, perfect for a dog lovers card.

This card is super cute with the little paw prints leading from the doggy to the sentiment. I just love it. To be frank I am more a cat person nowadays that a dog person. Saying that I still do enjoy watching the dogs running free in the park. Animals do know how to live in the moment and not worry about the future. I find that so beautiful to watch.

measurements

  • Soft Suede A6 Cardbase – (This is an A4 sheet cut in half and then folded in half again)
  • Neutrals family stack DSP – Crumb Cake – 14.35cm X 10cm

If you are not a dog person there is a similar set with a matching punch called Nine Lives. I have done a project with this set which you can find here.

There is a video tutorial and supply list below as always.
