Gosh, I’m so pleased with how this turned out. I wanted to make this card ever since I first saw the Candy Canes stamp set in the catalogue. The contrast between the white heat embossing and the red background is so striking.

Heat embossing is very easy to do but always feels like magic to me. This dull powder becomes glossy and beautiful as it melts under the heat tool. To make this card I used a larger panel than I needed of real red so that I could cut it down to get or of any imperfections around the edges. Please do watch the video and try it yourself. Enjoy the magic!!!

I love to colour. It is so therapeutic. I’ve started to listen to audiobooks as I colour and am loving it. Such a pleasant and relaxing way to spend a few hours. I used the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers here to colour in. The more I do the better I think I’m becoming at blending.

I’ve used quite a few colours here. For the red, I used both Cherry Cobbler and Real Red and again I used both Old Olive and Mossy Meadow for the green. It just gave me a bigger variety of shading possibilities.

Using the Deer Punch – Be of Good Cheer – Card Share – Peaceful Deer – Holly Jolly Christmas – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK

Aren’t these deer so cute? Two are punched out of the sparkly gold and rose coloured metallic paper. The last one is stamped and punched out. I love punches. They are so easy to use and require no other equipment. Kids can even use them under supervision.

This card reminds me of the reindeer parade that used to happen in Lincoln pre-pandemic. I actually always felt sorry for the deer stuck in their little enclosure as everyone gawked at them. They were on view in the St Marks area of Lincoln for the afternoon before Father Christmas took them through town in the evening on parade. It was wonderful for the children though. It was pure magic to them, bless their hearts.

You Warm My Heart – Easy Christmas Card – Encircled in Warmth – Crafting with Ashee – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator

This is a very simple card to make. I love big, bold sentiments as you know. This sentiment is part of a Christmas set but would be equally good for Valentine’s Day. The greens of Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen aren’t traditional but work well. The Encircled in Beauty Dies just give it that something, something.

The cherry cobbler ribbon on this box really makes it special. You won’t believe how long I fiddled and fiddled with that box to try and make it look half decent. Bows are really not my forte. The paper is beautiful wintery Painted Chistmas. I love this design. Its wintery but not necessarily Christmas which makes it so versatile.

The basis of this card is just really ink, paper and stamps. Easy to make and easy to reproduce. The pine cones are from the Christmas Season stamp set. I love these pine cones. They are part of a two-step stamping set but I just used the one layer here and I think they look amazing. All the background images are from this set and I just stamped in any way that took my fancy to create this background.

I’ve made this box a few times but this time I added ribbon to make it into a hanging decoration. The paper is the Penguin Playmates DSP that is free during sale-a-bration. You could quite easily make this with any patterned paper though to suit any occasion. I think this will look dinky hanging from the tree with a little treat inside. Handmade decorations are so special I think. They have a story to them and can become items to treasure through the years.

Yes I know it’s a Christmas scene but it is penguins!!! A friend of mine said that penguins are just for Christmas so we will have penguins today. This card has a hidden little flap on the front of the card. It’s held closed with a magnet and has a little ribbon pull. So cute.

I got this paper free during Sale-a-Bration (SAB). It matches the Penguin Place stamp set and punch that is in the new mini catalogue. So cute!!! During SAB you can a free item for every £45 you spend. So you save as you spend, a win-win for me.

How to Make a Poinsettia Christmas Candle – Poinsettia Petals – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator – Stamped Candles

I love stamping my own candles. They look so good!! I made some use the poppy stamp set and gifted them to my neighbour who is an oncologist at the local hospital.

This candle is made using the fabulous Poinsettia Petals stamp set. I’ve used this stamp set for a card before and the die set for another card. In order to make this candle I stamped on white tissue paper using the non-shiny side. I stamped in Stazon and then coloured in using the Real Red and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write markers. It came out well don’t you think?

One trick I would like to share is that I stamped all the flowers and then coloured them all in. I then cut around around the flowers leaving as little space tissue paper as possible but no being too concerned about it either. I positioned and heat set each flower individually. This worked better for me than trying to do all three in one go.

I made an oversize tag last year and decided to do one again. I love that it can double as a tag and a Christmas card. The paper is of course my favourite Snowflake Splendour. This is the last project I have to share with you using this paper and will be really sad to see it go. I love the colouring, the variations of blues and purples together.

So have you finished all your Christmas shopping? I am writing this blog on 4th November as England is due to go back into Lockdown for 4 weeks. I hope that by the time this goes live we will be out of it and hopefully seeing some light at the end of the tunnell.
