It’s a Dog’s Life – Pampered Pets – Stampin’ Up!

Normally if you say “It’s a Dog’s Life” you mean someone is having a miserable time of it. However when I see the the two little dogs that life up the road off on their walks, I think actually a dog’s life doesn’t sound too bad at times.

This dog image is from the Pampered Pets stamp set which in turn is part of the Pampered Pets suite of products. This suite includes designer series paper (DSP), stamp set and matching dies, charms and of course ribbon. I love the suite and it is perfect for both dog and cat lovers.

This little doggie reminds me of Jock from the film Lady and the Tramp. I love him. He is so cute!!! Of course he has a bling collar, what self respecting dog wouldn’t!!!

Hello Sunshine, Sunflower Celebration – Birthday

It is a lovely sunny day here in Lincoln as I write this. “Hello Sunshine”, therefore, seems an appropriate title for this blog post. I love sunflowers. There is one beautiful one in a garden in the next road. They are beautiful as they reflect the joy of the sun and of course they are great source of food for the birds.

Isn’t this a great stamp set? This is the second time I’ve used it and I am going to do lots more with it. I am so happy with the way this card turned out. The sunflower is so happy and jolly. I coloured the petals in using a marker and blender pen. It is a great trick for colouring in.

Strips – Using Your Scraps – Stampin’ Up!

I love being able to use up my scraps. This card uses strips of patterned paper cut at wonky angles to create this great card. A great sentiment is all you need to finish off this card.

This paper is the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (DSP). It is so pretty and I really enjoying using it time and time again. I’ve started to plan my mini album with this DSP to hold all my summer flower pictures from our own garden and all the surrounding villages.

I’ve long made cards using scraps but my upline Amanda Fowler showed me this technique using wonky cut pieces of paper and leaving gaps between each strip. It is quiet effective don’t you think?

I love driving around in the summer and seeing all the pretty gardens. The village of Nettleham, about 10 minutes from us is especially pretty. The local garden nursery sponsors hanging baskets outside various establishments and they always look amazing.

Shaker Die Cut Birthday Card Stampin’ Up!

Hello again, I have this shaker die cut birthday card to share with you today. I’m never happy with the shakey shakey cards I make but am determined to keep trying until I perfect it. This is my attempt today.

This card took ages to make. I struggled to come up with something I liked and I am still in two minds about it. Do you like? The die set is aptly named Happy Dies. I do like the Happy the die that cuts out the word. Next, I think I will try this die as an inlaid die cut.

I used the silver strips to cover up the foam tape on the sides of the card. One thing I do like is how well the balloons have stamped out. They do look happy and jolly.

Things are fairly quiet here in Lincoln. I am writing this post on the 10th July even though it is going to go up later. Yesterday was my mother’s birthday. It was very quiet as we just stayed home. Neither of us is comfortable going out to eat under the current circumstances. We are both vulnerable and so we are taking these carefully and slowly.

Funky Zebras – Zany Zebras – Stampin’ Up!

Hello again, I hope this finds you all well. I have this cute card featuring these funky zebras. I love them!! They are so cute and funny. What do you think?

The colour here is an all time favourite of mine, Bermuda Bay. I’ve kept it very monochromatic. The designer series paper is Coastal Cabana and is from the Brights Family stack. I’ve used some rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone selection.

The stamp set is Zany Zebras. When I first saw it on catalogue I was in two minds about purchasing it but I am really glad I did. I’ve seen so many people using it and it has really inspired me. The cards are easy to make and you make them in a variety of colours.

Roses – To a Wild Rose – Stampin’ Up!

Thank you for visiting. I have this beautiful floral card to share with you to featuring the To a Wild Rose stamp set. I have to say that unlike a lot of people roses aren’t my favourite flowers. It’s because I think, many are scented and they just give me hayfever. Having said that I still like them and admire them but they can’t surpass my tulips.

This stamp set is an older one and has been sitting in my stash for a while, never being used so I decided to bite the bullet as they say and use it. It is a layering stamps so works great with the stamparatus and makes the layering super easy. I decided to do the outline in black so that the colour would tie in with the sentiment.

The colours used for the flower are Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo. I double stamped the colour at times to give a deeper hue. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.

Our beautiful red rose outside the front door has nearly finished flowering. My mother dead headed it recently and we are hoping that we will a second flush of flowers later on in the year.

Happy Birthday Balloon Card – Stampin’ Up!

I have this very simple card to share with you today featuring this “Happy Birthday Balloon”. This card has been stamped using markers rather than ink pads. This is a great technique and I am so excited to share it with you.

This is such a fun stamp. The whole balloon including sentiment is one stamp. I’ve used the 2020-2022 in-colour Stampin’ Write Markers. There are five colours in the pack:

Misty Moonlight – Blue
Magenta Madness – Pink
Just Jade – Green
Bumblebee – Yellow
Cinnamon Cider – Brown

This gives you a great range of colours at a much lower price point than the stamp pads. Stamping with markers also gives you so much control over where you apply the colour. You can even have different colour flowers instead of them all being the same as I’ve done.

I should say the stamp set used here is “Hooray To You”. I am going to be using it over and over again. It would look great heat embossed as well.

Tearing Effect – Field of Flowers – Stampin’ Up!

I have a fun technique to share with you in this card. This using the tearing effect to create these ruffled edges that frame the focal image.

This image is all one stamp. I’ve stamped in it Mossy Meadow, the same colour as the cardstock. I tore the cardstock and then cut everything down to the size I wanted. The ruffled edge of the Mossy Meadow looks like the rough edges of the grass. I think it works well.

The card seemed a little dull to me until I had the bright idea to add the red rhinestones. I think they bring the whole card together and give a lovely pop of colour. In my mind they are little red poppies in the grass verge.

Yellow Irises – Inspiring Iris – Stampin’ Up!

I have this lovely floral card featuring these beautiful yellow irises. It makes for this bright and sunny congratulations card.

There are only flowers stamps used here. If you vary the height and angle of the stamps you will stop it look like repeat stamping. The stamps give quite a sketchy appearance which helps to cover up any mistakes in colouring.

The images are coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I’ve used quite a few colours to blend the yellows. I love colouring, it is such relaxing past time when I’m feeling stressed and anxious.

I’ve used the Holiday Rhinestones to fill some of the white space. To me, it looks like pollen blowing around in the breeze. I’m so pleased they carried over as I love all the

In-Colours Thank You Card – Stampin’ Up!

I have a simple card to share with you today. It is an in-colours thank you card. It features Misty Moonlight and Magenta Madness. I think these are my two favourite new colours. I love them and plan to use them again and again.

I think these two colours go so well together. The white also makes them pop. I am really loving the new patterns in the in-colour designer series paper. They are so fun. The strip of blue on the left hand side is actually Misty Moonlight ribbon. It is a gorgeous cotton type ribbon, beautifully soft and easy to tie into a bow, even for an idiot like me.
