How to Make an Easy Christmas Ornament – Freezin’ Friends Stamp Set – Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Lincoln UK.

I made one of these last year and I wanted to make more again using the fun Freezin’ Friends stamp set. The plan was to make a huge amount of these and sell them at various Christmas fairs but as you know that has fallen through the floor like a ton of bricks. I’m therefore sharing my little decorations with you.

I’ve coloured in both images with the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. The images are stamped in memento onto whisper white cardstock and then cut out. The penguin image was fussy cut out and the rabbit was die cut out with the white border. Tell me which you prefer, with the white border or without!

I did initially stamp these directly onto the MDF and coloured the images in with the Stampin’ Write Markers. THe images seemed to bleed and were very muted against the background. Stamping on Whisper White and then adhering that to the MDF works perfectly.

I love the Peony petals stamp set and matching dies so much. They are simply amazing. This card only uses stamping for the sentiment and the dies really do sing loud here. This is a card we made in a recent card club. All the details can be found here. I wanted to share this card with you as we all had such fun making it.

The dies not only cut out the shape but also emboss some texture to each leaf. The same dies also cut out the stamped images. They are just so versatile. I’ve inked the edges of all the foliage and it makes such a difference. It just gives everything depth, texture and interest. I used a simple sponge and the matching ink pads.

I love to heat emboss. It is such fun to be able to make these shiney cards. The ornaments are from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set that carried over from last year. They have a set of two matching punches making this card very quick and super simple to make with no added tools needed. I love heat embossing as a little powder goes along way so you can get not only such great value for you money but the chance to create this magic over and over again.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas. This is a great Christmas sentiment stamp set and I just want to give it a big shout out as it will become a staple in your Christmas cardmaking.

I absolutely love the Snowflake Splendour suite of products from Stampin’ Up! The paper especially is just so pretty. This card is from my recent card club which was based on the Snowflake Splendour suite of products. You can details of it here.

I used one of the dies to cut out this intricate snowflake shape and paired it with a sentiment for a simple and easy card. The variations of all the blues is just stunning and it really needs very little doing to it. The blue adhesive backed gems just give it that extra touch of bling.

This little reindeer is so cute. I’ve made him into Rudolph by adding a red gem to his nose. He has been coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. Yes, I did fussy cut as sad there aren’t die but he wasn’t difficult to cut out. I used a black marker around the edge to cover up any mistakes in my fussy cutting.

I used masking paper to mask these candles when I stamped with the green holly leaves. It works well and allows you to layer stamps without the other stamps showing through. There are no dies for the candle but they are really easy to cut out yourself. You just stamp on the masking paper and then cut it out. The paper is repositionable and doesn’t harm the stamping underneath. The red rhinestones just give it that touch of bling, I think they look like holly berries.

I’m so impressed with how this card turned out. I love the red poinsettias. They are gorgeous. We always have one each year. My mother has actually managed to keep one a live for a few years now and each year the leaves turn red in the winter.

The poinsettia is coloured in using the Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. I actually used both Cherry Cobbler and Real red, graduating from lightest to darkest to get all the shading I wanted. I did the same with the leave using both Mossy Meadow and Old Olive. This I felt gave better depth and definition to the images. I layered up 3 different sizes of poinsettia leaves to get the 3D effect that you see here.
