I make Candy Cane pouches every year. Normally, I use the envelope punch board but now it has retired. I really want it back!! This one is made using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and label punches. I think they turned out pretty cute.
Wrapped in Plaid is one my favourite Christmas Designer Series Paper from this current catalogue. It is so elegant with the foiled elements on one side. In previous years, I’ve made this as gifts for my neighbours in lieu of baking biscuits. The funny thing is that although I’ve tons of these I don’t actually ever eat candy canes. I’m a Type 1 diabetic and actually chose to only eat sweets when my blood sugar falls low and I need to bring it up quickly.
measurements
- Wrapped in Plaid 6″ X 6″ Designer Series Paper – (DSP) Scored at
- 1 5/8″ on either side on one side
- Turn paper by 90 degrees and score at 1″
You can hang these pouches from your tree by punching a hole in the top and threading some coordinating ribbon or twine through.
Other projects
I love making decorations or gifts for people. It means so much more when you have taken the time to make something rather than just buying a generic thing in a shop. I enjoy the process as well as as the giving of a handmade gift.
